Re: The decentralisation that Bitcoin offers is all we need
by

Outhue, I think you're missing some key points here about privacy and Bitcoin.  This whole "decentralization is all we need" view is just too black-and-white.  The blockchain may be decentralized but it ain't private.  Every single transaction - the addresses, the amounts - its all out there forever for anyone to see and  that ain't privacy.  It's pseudo-anonymity at best.  Big difference.

Sure the identities are hidden, but blockchain analysis can trace those transactions easy enough.  Whether it's the cops or some big data company or even other criminals, they can follow the money trail on the blockchain no problem.  So if youre someone important making big money moves or just an average Joe who don't want all your purchases on public record, vanilla Bitcoin privacy protections just don't cut it.

I'm not saying we all need to be shady criminals to want better privacy.  But acting like the transparency of the blockchain is no big deal for privacy - thats just naive, man.  There's legit reasons - even ethical ones - someone might want more privacy with their finances than Bitcoin provides by default.  We gotta acknowledge that.

Paper Bitcoin wallet "with" ATM?

Well hello boys and girls!

What are the options for turning a paper Bitcoin wallet with 2 QR codes into cash at a bitcoin ATM without first moving the funds to a digital wallet?

The idea is to create a paper Bitcoin wallet, put bitcoin into it at a Bitcoin ATM, and then redeem it for cash in the future at a second Bitcoin ATM, without using an online wallet that could potentially expose my personal information. Or something like that.
Is that possible?

Re: Bitcoin dump, Ethereum pump!

It is impossible to predict the future of the market and the price of crypto-assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum. Some will say that their value will rise, some say that their value will fall, but not much can be predicted when it comes to these digital currencies.

Bitcoin and Ethereum are both highly speculative assets that cannot be used as a currency globaly because they lack legal support. They are both volatile and volatile assets cannot be used as currency and often lose half their value, or more in just a few days. Until the level of speculative investing in crypto-assets grows and become more mainstream, it is difficult to predict where their value will go in the future.

New (old) FUD coming from China?
by
BurningChrome
on 24/09/2021, 13:32:17 UTC
Another wave of Bitcoin FUD is coming from China as the Chinese central bank claimed that local state agencies have improved tools to fight against crypto transactions more effectively.

The Chinese government is getting more serious about cracking down on the cryptocurrency industry as state authorities are bringing forces to combat crypto operations in the country.

The People’s Bank of China (PBoC) officially announced on Friday a set of new measures to fight against crypto adoption in China, including promoting stronger inter-departmental coordination in cracking down crypto activity.

Can this negatively affect the price of Bitcoin or has the market already reacted to it because it is old news?

I don't see a problem. I'm just reporting the conclusions of perfect mathematical and scientific analysis and modeling using confirmed sources.

Wow, proudhon, you really suck at math.  Cheesy

create a decent number of price predictions and at some point you're going to get at least one of them right. The typical market fortune teller.

although proudhon history tells that he's far from "typical market fortune teller", since all his predictions seem to be proven wrong sooner or later.

You're right, he is probably one of the worst market fortune tellers.
I'm just curious to know what upset him so much that he's so hostile?  Wink
