One of the developers Ari Meilich spits of about the project and left it in 2020.
That shitcoin called Decentraland is lost correlation with BTC like all normal altcoins, and does not grow at all anymore.
It was also previously known that the Decentraland developers turned out to be creditors of the bankrupt Genesis Global which, after the collapse of FTX, suspended it's payments.
This shit (Decentraland Mana Token) has lost correlation with BTC! Look how Bitcoin has grown and how this shit is creeping!

I thought the Sandbox had a great metaverse and business model, but people just aren't ready for it I think. Maybe in 8 more years the tech and community will have evolved to take advantage of the metaverse, but right now it's pretty much a zombie hoping to be brought to life.
The difference is that Sandbox is not a scam. Compared to Decentraland, Sandbox is a decent project that is really developingIt's really interesting in Sandbox. And this shameful Decentraland is all whistles and farts
