Thanks for the PN! My miners are still connected to Antpool ATM, but I am really thinking about pointing them towards Kano Smiley

Re: ANTMINER C1 Discussion and Support Thread

Hey Guys,

one of my 3 C1s is not functioning normally anymore.
It started about one week ago, when I noticed that the fan of this particular miner was running at full speed and I was not able to access it via the web interface. Shutting the device on and off resulted in the same issue: fan starts and continues to run at full speed, no accees to the device.
Since also the hard-reset did not work, I took out the SD-Card and flashed the Stock Rom from dogie. After inserting the SD-Card back into the C1, I was again able to access it and everything looked normal. I then flashed the most recent firmware from Bitmain and started mining at 250Mhz/ 0.760.

However after a few minutes, the temperatures of Chain 4 first started dropping and then increasing to up to 125°C, with the fan running at full speed, causing the C1 to stop mining. Guess the temperature reading is not correct since the heatsinks (I currently am operating the device without the case) don't feel hot at all. After shutting off the miner, waiting for a few minutes and then turning it on again it starts hashing again for a while  before the whole issue starts over again.
After doing a software reboot while the fans are running at full speed, I noticed that Chain 4 only shows 15 instead of 16 ASICS. Still fans continue to run at full speed and no hashing. Furthermore the Load Average is far smaller than the one from my two other C1s.

In short:
Hashing --> Temperature of Chain 4 drops --> Temperature of Chain 4 increases --> Fan starts running at full speed --> Miner stops mining (and the status light starts blinking red)

What I have tried so far:
- flashing the bitmain firmware (dec 14) again
- trying different frequencies and voltages
- adding PCI-E cables to make sure it's not the PSU
- connecting the radiator and the fans to another Chain
- trying to start the miner without Chain 4 by disconnecting the cables (but it won't start)

Did anyone here experience something similar before? Any idea how to solve this problem?

One more thing: can I pull out the PCI-E (6-Pin) cable connected to Chain 4 while the Miner is runnning or do I risk damaging the hardware doing that?

Re: Claymore CryptoNote GPU Miner v9.3

Mining with a 295x2 @ 1030 Core and 1300 Mem. However, as long as I use both GPUs, the hashrate is far too high (>2000 h/s) and I receive "code":-1,"message":"Low difficulty share" errors. I have tried different drivers, set virtual memmory size to 20Gb and played around with basically all the settings you provide in the readme. Nothing seems to help.

The only way I can use the card for mining is by using the -di 1 option. (When using -di 0, I get the same errors as with both GPUs)

My system:
Intel Core i7 2600k
Sapphire 295x2 OC @ Stock
Ati Catalyst 15.4 beta. (I have also tried 14.12 which did not help either)
850w Platimax. --> Plenty of power available. Its not that either.
Using Claymore GPU Miner v 9.3.

Apart from the errors while mining, the system is running rockstable.

Does anybody have an idea how to solve this problem?

Working fine here.

Windows 8.1
Running 3 280x Toxics @ 1120c / 1780m [- h 896, -a 4]
Power consumption went down 100w while my hashrate went up 100 h/s (33 h/s per card)

Good job and cheers for the update Smiley

Re: Claymore XMR/QCN/FCN/BCN Windows CPU Miner v3.2

******************** ERROR ********************

CANNOT ALLOCATE MEMORY!
Error #103-1-1
Start miner with ADMIN rights to configure system for best performance and then
REBOOT computer.
It is necessary to do it only once.

***********************************************

this is a common issue for the cpu miner on windows 8/8.1... all my win 7 rigs work excellent but my 2 win 8.1 rigs do not like the cpu miner and wont allocate memory giveing the same error.
Any chance of looking into this issue Claymore??

Every new Windows version has more and more paranoid security settings. For Windows 8.1 x64:

1. Make sure you are logged as admin. Create shortcut for NsCpuCNMiner64.exe on desktop.
2. Open shortcut properties, and specify command line parameters, for example:
C:\miner\NsCpuCNMiner64.exe -o stratum+tcp://mine.moneropool.org:80 -u 449TGay4WWJPwsXrWZfkMoPtDbJp8xoSzFuyjRt3iaM4bRHdzw4qoDu26FdcGx67BMDS1r2bnp7f5hF 6xdPWWrD3Q3Wf7G6 -p x
3. Press "Advanced" button, check "Run As Administrator". Also disable UAC and reboot (perhaps this step is not ncessary for your configuration).
4. Start shortcut, I get about 290 h/s on stock i7-4770 in Windows 8.1 x64.

This worked perfectly! The improved hashrate compared to the other miners more than makes up for the fee. Keep up the good work!

any thoughts on how to get 280x's stable with this gpu miner yet?

and why gigabyte 280x's seem to suffer very low hash rate, eg struggle to break 300h/s when compared to an asus 280x that does 360 with ease.

That's what you mean ? Gigabyte like my another rig ?
http://s2.postimg.org/5ps0gbt7t/gigabyte.jpg

are they the windforce 280x's rev 1 or 2?

i run 2 of them and one can do 310H/s at 1200/1500 and the other does about 308H/s at 1200/1500. cant seem to push them any higher on mine. even tried different motherboards and the same affect, they are also the ones that drop out 98% of the time....
R9 280x Windforce Rev2. I do it with default clock 1100/1500. Stop OC your CoreClock cuz it will not stable and increase very little hashrate compare with power consumption. I suggest use default for best performance. If you want to OC, just increase a little with MemClock. FORGET TO OC CORE, IT'S NOT GOOD AT ALL.

Cannot confirm your experience with overclocking. My Rig has been running stable with 1140/1800 clocks for 28 hours now. Each 280x toxic is hashing with like 360h/s.
Don't know about changes in power consumption, but I don't really care cause its free anyway Wink

This is true, but power consumption increases dramatically.
I do not know whether it is worth

I notice something else.
Today is better as statistics.
Apparently they did any improvements because now shows just in a pool and miner

I cannot really comment about that because I do not have a monitor for power consumption.

With 3 290s I'm getting just shy of 1600h/s with 1200/1500. I guess this miner is not pushing the cards so much in its current state as I can't get anywhere near this high of an overclock usually.

Are you running 290's or 290x?  I can't get mine stable at those clocks, driver crashes and system locks up.  I'm running mine at 1100/1300 and getting 450h/s

Running 290s, I'm using Stilt bios with an extra 38mv and powertune at 20. My cards are watercooled but they are running even cooler than x11 so I'm sure they would be fine on air as well.

I'm running sapphire 290 tri-x cards so can't use stilts bios on my cards Sad  I'll have a bit more play and see if I can squeeze anything more out of mine.

I've noticed on gpuz that the memory clock drops right down, does XMR mining use the cards memory much or is it like keccak and uses very little?

Raising mem-clocks from 1600Mhz to 1800Mhz resulted in an 8% hashrate increase for my rig (3x 280x Toxic). 1000 h/s --> 1080 h/s. (1100;1600 ---> 1100;1800)
To me it looks like performance moves proportionally to changes in clocks.
Doing 1103 h/s now with 1140; 1800. Been running stable for 6h+

I can confirm +20% with my FX 4300 and +30% with my I7 2600k.

Thanks a lot Wolf0, good job!  Smiley
