Life itself would be amazing if it wasn't for the slave system most humans have to endure. Working from sunrise till sunset is not what humans are here for. It makes your head numb and sucks out your energy.

Altcoins are a big gamble. There's nothing to predict with them. Even if they have a strong team, a great idea and also keep promise to their whitepaper still don't mean jackshit with altcoins.

Altcoins are the perfect way to make money for rich pump and dumpers like John McAffee. For the average Joe it's more like gambling in Vegas.

Re: Hitbtc death?

I don’t know for sure, but I was about to go for it before I decided to make some research about it and stumbled across a lot of post online and even on the bitcointalk.org forum claiming that Hitbtc is a scam. So that made me to quit from it, I can’t take such risks. I don’t usually go for anything that has a bad reputation, cause I can’t risk my hard earned money, I know the sweat it took, it wasn’t easy. And losing it just like that, no matter how little I lose, it’s something I can’t afford. But God help us.

Smart move. You'll be better off without HitBTC. They've already screwed over way too many people.

Re: Why the price of bitcoin rapidly going down

It's simply because most people are dummies who only want to (ab)use cryptos as a way to get rich fast. I bet that there's not one casino and sports gambler out there who isn't already heavily "gambling" with cryptos. People like that can't wait 3, 4 or 5 years to make a profit. They want a quick fix.

And let's not forget about all the little kids who scream "Lambo" everywhere they show up. Most of them don't even know where they have their pocket money invested in.

Re: How hard is Launching Your Own Exchange Platform?

HITBTC shows that you can run a crypto exchange without the exchange having to work properly and with a completely incompetent costumer support. So at least in China it seems to be pretty easy to launch a platform like that. You can open up your business in the same alley where they do the cockfights every evening....just like HITBTC did.

What`s up with this weird 48 hour withdrawal waiting period on hitbtc? They told me I can´t withdraw because i enabled a whitelist (whatever that is). Not to mention that I didn`t enable or change anything in the settings.

Are there any people who really don`t have any problems with this site? I can`t believe it. Every click I make there leads to another issue.

I personally dont own it, but I have friends, that gone through their bounty, and now they are rejoicing about it, heh. It irritates me, because I have missed that.

The only exchange you can buy it from now is HITBTC. Which sadly is a big scam site.

Hitbtc is a big scam. The withdrawel process is not working at all and one could assume that´s on purpose. I was blocked from withdrawel for 48 hours (without a reason).

The support always acted very fast in my case but never reliable. They just blame it all on you and after a couple of days all your funds are usually gone.

HQ probably in Romania or some other shady, untrustworthy country.

What is pump and dump,

and how to block?

Pump and dump groups blow massive amounts of money in the market (sometimes hundreds of millions at once) to make the price go up and sell everything with a huge profit only a short time (few days) later. It's market manipulation.

You can't block it or avoid it. The market cap must rise so that pumping and dumping gets harder.

I'd recommend to pay attention to these new altcoins:
 - BETR (https://betterbetting.org) - a good team and low soft cap will for sure make x10 minimum

They are much too late in the game. FUN does the same thing and is already partnering up with online casinos.

I saw month ago - NEO has done it pretty good , i mean it did not fall in price, when BTC went down and dragged all altcoins with him. For me this is a good sign , that coin gained the power and not so dependent from Bitcoin.

I have NEO too and I'm very positive about it's success. I think it could be where ETH is now.....the 800 range. Even higher a few years from now.

If you're looking for a candidate that could par bitcoin, then the nearest answer to that would be Ethereum. I picked it judging on the highest marketcap in next to bitcoin and the usage.
On our local online exchanger, ethereum have already its own way for converting directly to our fiat. It doesn't depend now to bitcoin in cashing out  Cheesy

As for the price, I think it is not because altcoins are dependent to bitcoin but it is about their same type. Both are cryptocurrencies and either of the two will be favored out in a time.

Oh, I'm heavily invested in ETH, no worries. BTCs I have none at this time. Sold them with a profit and won't get back into it until price hits the 5 000 mark again. Which probably won't happen.

I would stay far away from Bitcoin now. I'd never put money in a currency with a price over 1 000. NEVER!  Cool

Ripple is made for banks instead of sending SWIFT, they will use Ripple.

They only need the technology (XRP) for this NOT the coin (Ripple). It's the same with TenX and PAY....nobody needs the coin but the technology is interesting.

I advise you to look at the currently undervalued altcoins that cost less than $1-Verge, Cardano, TRON, Stellar. But, the most interesting and promising for investment coin for today I believe Ripple.
Ripple is a centralized and regulated cryptocurrency created specifically for financial institutions

XRP is what banks will be interested in....NOT Ripple. They will use this technology with their own currency and get rid of Ripple.

Right now, I wouldn't invest anything anymore.

Pump and dump groups control the prices too much. And Bitcoin price controls all the altcoins....which also is bad.

I just leave my money where it is and HODL. Maybe something good will come out of it (by sheer luck).

A lot has to change and get better in crypto.

The biggest problem of altcoins
by

on 25/02/2018, 09:59:05 UTC
....is their complete dependancy of Bitcoin. It really takes all the fun out of crypto trading.

No matter what kind of awesome progress some altcoins make....it doesn't change the trend upwards if Bitcoin doesn't allow it.

Pump and dump groups I also blame. Because of them I'm very positive that Bitcoin won't make it past 30 000 this year. 50 000 to 80 000 would be realistic without pump and dump groups dominating and controlling the prices.

Anyways, these things have to change somehow. The first altcoin developers who claim their absolute freedom from Bitcoin will be the real winners of this crypto game.
