Re: Do you accept army teachers or not?
by

I think this is utter stupidity. Why try to solve a problem that has an apparent solution otherwise? I believe this is just like a facade to make it seem like something is being done. Why should we subject kids of that age to so much interaction with ammunition? What makes schools different from a warzone then? Enact proper laws concerning gun control like every other developed country. Then watch things turn around fast. But being in bed with the IRA will never permit them to have such courage. Every other excuse given is just some cover-up story.

Wow, that's quite sad. It's surprising that I'm literally hearing this here for the first time. He really fought hard for the interests of his people. At least in the manner that he knew to. No matter your politics, I think this is a man who should be respected. Was it not recently he was taken off his treatment? I thought he was getting better. I sincerely hope he will be celebrated as a hero that he is.

Re: Russia vs the world???
by

Why is everyone bearing a misconception about Russia and its role in world politics? It simply proves that the US and the West are pushing their propaganda right. But a critical look at things will actually give you a clearer perspective. Russia mostly, even if they're aggressive, goes after old Soviet states. The situation with Crimea is one that the media has twisted completely. If I recall there was a referendum voted. So, say what you may, it was majorly a democratic move. The US only seeks to wax stronger and stronger and control all the resources all over the world. Russia and her Putin however are putting up a strong opposition to this tyranny. And I think I am loving it for now.

Wow, wow, wow, chill, bro! $250k dollars by 2022? That's really huge. Where do you get your figures from really? But I guess the main discussion is about Bitcoins being an alternative to Fiat currencies. Even here, I do not consider that it is nearly achieved yet. I totally agree that Bitcoin has sure gained some respect and acceptance over the years. But I also know that there's still large room for improvement.

Re: Your time machine is here...what year would you like?
by
Charles_Summers

The year I would like is 2018. Live in the present, people! Have we learnt so little from all the series we watch like Flash? Toying with the timeline never ends well Grin But honestly, we should all just appreciate the present and live in it. Enough of thinking of better times, either in the past or in the future. Even if I were mandated to choose a certain year, I really can't pinpoint anyone. I just like to live every day as it comes.

Re: Is it my impression or media is biased towards bad news ?
by
Charles_Summers
on 19/08/2018, 17:40:14 UTC
This is no news actually. We all know that media in most countries is far from independent. They are either funded indirectly by the government or by some people with political interest. And when this is the case, every platform is always used to propagate a cause. The way digital currencies are right now, they are no friend of the corporate powerhouses. Asides that, even on a level playing field, Bitcoin is still disadvantaged. The fact is that even people without political interest are not ready for change. And they resort most times to defame what they do not understand.

Re: RT news propaganda news station yes or no?
by

At the start, I was excited when RT launched. At least it was interesting to find some news that exposed the other side of the divide. But it didn't take a lot of time for this excitement to die down. A lot of bias is aired apparently. But honestly, it's not different any from what we see on CNN and BBC. Every country is simply selling their propaganda these days and calling it news. Same thing with China and CCTN, Qatar and all these other countries too. I just think we should take what we're fed from all corners and decide what to believe.

Re: What Motivates you to Invest in Cryptocurrency?
by

Honestly, for me, it is all about the future. I believe strongly that cryptocurrencies are gonna be mainstream in the future. It might not happen right now or soonest. But it seems like it will eventually. And I do not want to be late to the party. I believe I can still be considered early as regards to the time I started investing. So, this is my major motivation. I do not like to miss out on profitable opportunities. Especially when I had the information and the chance.

This is pure gangster thinking Grin. But it sounds very fascinating. But honestly, it all shows that more and more people are frustrated with the government. It is so even in the so called developed countries. But this ought not to be the case. Any proper organization must be run on monetary funds. And taxation is one of the major ways governments all over the world get funded. Without funding from taxation, government officials are actually not indebted to us any longer. The focus should be on how to ensure that taxes are used properly.

This case appears to me to be one of misplaced priorities. The earth, our home still requires a lot of help from us. But we are fixated on something else. I know other things beneficial to mankind can be discovered as a result of this pursuit. But the cost of a possible Mars colonization is insanely high. And it is definitely not worth it. But as a Science lover, it is a very interesting pursuit. I just also would love to see those resources go in some other direction.

Impressive list. As much as I am inspired, I am also led to think otherwise. Could this be an incentive to make other people stay? I remember quite a number of schemes like the GNLD. The big names were always used as a source of motivation for the smaller investors. I mean if they could make this much, then what stops me from doing the same... Or so they try to make you think. But since this list is coming from Forbes, I might be forced to trust it to some extent.

Really? A whole strange lot on here. So many people seem to be in support of war. I had to actually pinch myself to be sure I wasn't dreaming. Wars don't reduce population only. They also reduce infrastructure and resources. What does this imply? It means we are always back to square one or even worse. I have a question of mine. Why is human population we need to reduce. Why not increase our productivity?

by

Huh, I'm guessing you're new to the cryptocurrency market. Or you just weren't taking stock. Bitcoin has actually seen more devastating times. At such times, many speculators and observers were very confident that it will not recover. And they sure were wrong. I agree that only the strong stubborn investors will remain in times like this. I believe Bitcoin will only grow more and more in value. Only the resilient will enjoy the profit then.

Re: Politics is not necessary?!
by

Condemning politics altogether is throwing away the baby with the bath water. I think you might want to rephrase your statement. Politics as a whole is necessary. But politics, the way it's being played in most countries today, is not necessary. If you criticize politics in general, then what do you suggest replaces it. I am really keen to know. At least our world needs to be run in one way or the other. And time has proven that the option, dictatorship, isn't any better. Unless you know something we don't know.

Asia as a whole doesn't really seem to be buying all this stuff. I am left amazed. What would these rather small economies gain from this war against cryptocurrency? I guess they are just borrowing a leaf from the bigger Asian economies. But what they do not recognize is that they do not have some factors that are working for these other countries. I really don't see how this is a wise decision. No matter what the reason may be. Hopefully, they'll go back on this.

Re: We need more moral education
by
Charles_Summers
on 08/08/2018, 09:56:11 UTC
Very very good stuff. I was scared many people now consider this a thing of the past. So many problems we see in the society today are truly a result of the absence of proper moral education. I know many people may disagree. But I think religion is a great tool in imparting moral education. That's religion in its pure state though. So, I think the more we disregard religion, the more immoral our society will end up being. Schools have to restore some focus on morality. The family setting too is a great platform for rectifying things. Sadly, divorce and many other increasingly prevalent factors render this platform useless.

Re: US vs China

China in the last decade has indeed grown really strong. But we must understand that warfare is more than just guns and bombs. The US is highly experienced in evasive warfare. They have a stealth way of manipulating allies and making things go their way. And this is where they cannot be underestimated. Even in the case of an all-out war, there are still great chances that US would win. I mean they still have the greatest military expenditure in the world. Even so by a wide margin.

Very true, lad! It's alright to take risks. But it must be calculated risks. If you must take advice from rich men, then you must make sure to understand completely their advice. Being greedy and stupid is self destructive. The kind of greed Warren speaks of is smart. After accessing the situation, you choose to do what others aren't ready to do. And while doing this, you go all the way.

Re: You're not wealthy yet, so you're not allowed to be wealthy
by

The economic system in many countries is really faulty. This does not pertain to the digital world only. Things are built in a way that the rich only get richer. And the poor get poorer. So, it's not necessarily new. Unfortunately, I don't see any possible change in the near future. But if you're not wealthy, you can pose to be wealthy. And if you work with the right principles, sooner or later, you will be rich actually.

Re: My country banned bitcoin. What I can do ?
by

I totally understand your circumstances. Not from experience though. It is really great that you love and understand the concept of cryptocurrency. Especially coming from a country like Bangladesh. Unfortunately, I will advise that while you still live there, you should abide by the rules. Even if you disagree with your government's decision, it is right to abide by the Law. So, really, I don't see much that you can do. You can hope anyway that the verdict is reversed or reviewed. And this I suspect might happen in the future. In other news, you could consider migrating. Not for the sole purpose of trading or investing in cryptocurrency, of course Grin
