YOU HAVE TO PATCH DRIVER WITH ATI PIXEL PATCHER if you use certain drivers. i think only the newer driver is an issue.

This is for all rx400 series and rx500 series

Both great replies. However i have tried every pcie slot. And it's only after modding the bios of the cards.

Reflash stock rom. Video.

This is my only work around.
Keep one card unflashed stock
Flash other 5 cards

That way video works all the time
And i can adjust voltages with afterburner

Is anybody able to control volts with 6 modded cards on z170/z270 boards?

How is anybody getting around this issue

Here's what i have and have tried.

z170a pro gaming  msi
z270a pro  msi

I can get all 6 rx580 or rx570 to work fine.

When i flash the bios on any card. Even just a single card. That card will show no video until it hits windows
 
It is impossible to get into bios unless unplugging all cards.

The biggest problem is makes is the computer doesn't see the graphics card until it hits windows. And because of that msi afterburner thinks the computer loaded on the Intagrated graphics and can't adjust volts and sometimes clocks because of it. What i think is going on is flashing messes something up with uefi.

Can anyone help me. How are people using claymore commands to set clocks and volts. Even on claymores page it says ati blocks this now. Yet on one of my rigs claymore commands work. On an identical rig they crash it. Claymore commands crash every rig i've ever had when trying to set clocks and volts. Even if its just settings stock clocks. Yes afterburner works just fine pushing the cards hard. But i can't undervolt more than -100mv with afterburner. How else can i undervolt more?

My guy. How in the hell do you get claymore commands to work. It crashes my rig. One of my rigs i got it to work. i have several identical builds and for some reason something is blocking or taking control of the clocks and won't let claymore change the clocks or volts without crashing. Like bad crashes too.. hard locks. video artifacts.

what am i missing here.. I've been trying to figure out why i can't use claymore commands on any of my builds for over a year. But one rig does work. i'm lost. please help

I can't use claymore commands to change clocks or voltages without it crashing. I got it working on a 6gpu rx570 setup. But not a 4gpu rx580 setup.

Things I've tried. Full reload of windows.
install drivers by extracting and pointing to that folder. I don't use the actual installer. Have also tried the installer.
DDU.
No afterburner.
no anything.
Tried disabling hdmi and sound options

Something is still holding control of the mem and gpu clocks. When I do use afterburner it all works fine. But if its just windows. Driver and claymore 9.3 it crashes when I change clocks. What's still holding my gpu hostage that I somehow eliminated with my other build. Please help. This has always haunted me.

I have a 6gpu rx570 build. That i patched with the driver fix. And i'm able to control the clocks mem and volts with the claymore commands. However on my other build. Rx580 4gpu build. By installing the drivers in the same fashion by only pointing the driver update at the folder. And not install any amd software. I'm able to only do it on my rx570 builds. Any idea how to insure claymore commands don't crash the miner/computer.  Something is still controlling the clocks and mem and that's why claymore can't change it without crashing. But what? i've ran DDU and installed several times with just the driver. Same results on just my rx580 build. Any ideas?

MY GUY! Halarious!! Right before you said that. I figured that out for myself!!! For the longest time i never knew why i could never use those commands. TRIED SOO HARD! Finally realise it was wattman or the full driver blocking me the entire time. I'm betting i can do that on my rx470 builds too. DDU them. Don't install driver. Just point it at the driver folder instead so it doesn't install wattman or whatever. So that way i can use claymore commands instead. I'm managing over 100 cards. Less software. Less settings. All under one bat is best..

Here's my very last problem. And very weird issue. Whatever i set clocks with. msi or claymore commands. If i reboot my machine. It loads whatever clocks were last set. Msi doesn't boot with windows. and i remove the clocks from claymore. Something is remembering the clocks. But what? Thanks for your help! Because if i didn't figure it out. You were right anyways! Just got the 6gpu's down to 1000 watts! at the wall! 1300 evga gold. Can't verify if it's stable yet tho. As i just figured these issues out.

Need a little help. And in return a little info

1. I did get 6 rx570 nitro+ 4gb to work at the same time. Following that guys driver fix was super easy
2. Strapping them was weird because after the straps no hash increase until you oc memory. Got them to 28mh easy.
3. After strapping them it wont show video until it's all the way into the os. Also had to disable fast boot in power options in windows. Otherwise i would have to unplug the hdmi cable and plug it back in just for video to show. Weird stuff.

Here is my problem. 1450 watts at the wall.

Since i can't fully install the 500 series driver.  I can't install wattman or whatever comes with the driver so msi afterburner can change the voltages.  So i can get all 6 cards to work. No problem. But i can't change voltages at all. How can i get afterburner to control voltages.

My only thought on this would be to install like 2 cards with the 500 series driver.  ddu all drivers. and do driver fix. And point windows at the fixed driver folder again?? I dont know. i have no other way to control voltages with 6  500 series cards. I have a 4 card msi rx580 rig which i can change voltages on bc it's only 4 cards and i don't have to do the driver fix.

How is anybody changing volts on 6 gpu 500 series rigs.

i have put 100 cards online in the past 60 days. Im at a loss on these 500 series cards. Please help. Ohh and everything i do is dual mine eth+dcr

I'm running the rx580 8gb gaming x. How can i decrease the core voltage more. Msi afterburner limits me to -100mv. Would i have to flash the bios with that coded in there? Running 1750 straps 28-31mh

Need quick help.. I usually use Saphire Trixx software to control my clocks. To make it easier i wanted to add -cclock and mem clock into the script. But when do that even at stock speeds it crashes and hard locks. Its like its fighting for control from another application which i have non other than the stock amd settings. what could be causing the hard locks?

Im running the newest version of crimson and tried a bunch of different driver installs. I get no video unless i jump it i'm pretty sure. I'm sending in for RMA i don't want to mess with it anymore. Spent 8 hours messing with it already. Stock rom is back on there. They shouldn't figure out it was flashed.
I'm using an i7 4770k. And a 3rd gen i5 something K with similar results

1 rx480-8gb ref @ only 150 sols.

I just tried raising my core to 1350 which i didn't think would be stable but is so far. I need to start lowering mV again.
1. What do you think i should expect as far as getting my -mV down lower.
2. How do i get my rx480-8gb ref high.
3. I soft bricked my rx480-4gb ref after strap mod. I think it has something to do with driver sigs or something. I can jump it to start and reflash stock bios but wont work.Help?
4.I tried 1500 strap on rx470 but seems very unstable and cant adjust clocks much any idea why?
