Re: Should you follow instinct?
by
Churchillvv
on 29/05/2025, 22:43:24 UTC
When gambling, we often get urges and instinct to do something. Be it betting on the underdog or playing a specific game, sometimes we just get the urge to do it and sometimes it does result in something positive.

We know that in gambling, logic and data is what we follow. But do you also sometimes follow instinct? Do you believe that when a gambler says he can feel his win the next round it’s true? How much of your instinct should you follow and how much should you ignore?
Sometimes instincts are right! sometimes they are wrong but in life generally you would be advised to follow your instincts.

However in gambling if your instincts aligns with the current statistics, possibilities then I would suggest following your instincts but then when we consider this underdogs, I definitely go for doing what you think is right, if following instincts is not going to give you a win don't, if it will then don't hesitate to follow your instincts hence we are risking for fun and gambling is definitely luck, so if your instincts tells you anything it might be your lucky day.

This situations are some of the key points parents who have experienced concludes that gambling generally is very bad and in my society it has a bad stereotype for bringing this kind of bad effects on humans.

However the punishment of the guy who was rescued would be a life time stereotype which could lead to trauma and other psychological side effects, he/she might have a real time punishment but the stereotype kills faster, I don't know what the punishment could be but I believe it's the desire of the offended or the due punishment attached to attempt of suicide by the court of justice system.

While for the guy who died, he lost! even with the lost he incurred he still had the bigger lost because nothing is impossible so you could become rich and everything goes away but once your gone, you're gone forever.

The feeling si very much mutual here, but one of he reasons why bitcoin has rocketed since all the huge adoptions and happens that are supposed to make it bullish I think the trump tariff are what have lead to delay in the upity of bitcoin, since guys awaits his new type of tariff hits hence this is making it difficult to scale up as expected but i guess since the US court has temporarily stopped trump from tariff wars then we are preparing for the blast which you are refering to. in this situation I urge buys so much that I could even take loans just to sack up as much as possible.

It's really a buy opportunity for the last time.!

Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL!
by
Churchillvv
on 29/05/2025, 21:32:43 UTC
In summary, sure it is possible that BTC prices might dip more from here, yet they might not... so any low coiners or no coiners should be focusing on buying bitcoin persistently, consistently, regularly, ongoingly and perhaps even aggressively, whether or not there might be further dips from here (currently in the last 4-5 hours bouncing in the lower $106ks).
You are right, direct purchases are better to do. To be consistent in accumulating bitcoins, of course, the faster the better.
I often hear a saying in running an investment where holding cash is a stupid act, however, the cash available can be converted into bitcoin if he immediately presses the buy button.

Talking about the price going down today or tomorrow or even next month, it won't be a problem or won't worry. Because as long as the accumulation continues, an investor will be comfortable with any price, whether it goes down or up, he will still press the buy button.

Of course, my big opinion is that bitcoin will have a stronger chance of rising because of the increasing buying demand. Even so, we remain loyal to continue holding while continuing to follow up on purchases with the DCA strategy.

There surely could be guys who are starting to let up upon their regular, persistent, ongoing, consistent and perhaps even aggressive buying of bitcoin based on their perceptions of their having had reached and/or exceeded their BTC accumulation target.. so then they change their strategies.  Even though not impossible, I have difficulties imagining anyone with fewer than 4 years buying bitcoin having had reached that stage of their BTC accumulation status, yet.  But sure, anything is possible, including some guys having formulas (and bitcoin valuation systems) different from my own.
Surely several guys have different variations totally different from your own even confusing than ever yet it's very much obsolete that buying is now getting more score because several years gone guys didn't have the momentum to keep buying, upscaling bitcoin constantly, consistently, ongoingly and even aggressively as they do now. it's pretty much the effect of the profitability of bitcoin over the last few weeks and how much more investors are coming into it.

However, I would agree with you that guys in the last 40 years who started the accumulation journey are probably in the beginning or yet at the earliest intermediate level of accumulation yet reaching a high BTC accumulation status will be very difficult in less than four years even though one may have much money or have some kind of amount for lump sum yet it's rare to see such investors hence the accumulation stage is pretty much what most of us on this thread or visitors are still on. even though we might have some OGs in bitcoin on the forum yet most of them prioritize accumulation over any other thing bitcoin even beyond maintenance. Yet sure anything is possible.

I'm not an active trader but my brother(whoever I consider brother, whether blood or not)is, what he always says to me is that it's good to have someone in the business by your side some days when taking trading as they will help you during your emotional ups and downs, they can spot the error or your mistakes because they are not the one staking their funds so it's easy and they have no emotion to the trade.

He also further said that, if you're not lossing you will always thing what you are doing is right and best way to get over your losses is to stop take a nap and then get others to looking into your trading confirm your strength and weakness this will always be my top tier of emotional control when trading.

This James Wynn guy is probably just a paid plant for HyperLiquid. Does anybody genuinely believe he’s actively trading with leverage in a position of that size.

Similar with MMCrypto and Binance. I don’t believe these trades are real. Probably paid by the exchange to get suckers to copy them and attract new customers.

I might be wrong but I’m more concerned and pretty annoyed that we’re at $105,000 now. I think we need to hold here or we retest $100,000 again. The price always dumps when that stupid grifter conference is being held.
Not a hype for suckers, not even a good or real trade but just a Ponzi as we know.

Thought we could make better upity this week based on the restraining of trump from tariffs by the court but it's pretty much the otherside.

The conference this year is special not to our benefit but to the guys who just came into bitcoin and pushing millions/billions in and the dump is also a special effect.... maybe a 3D effect lols

Let's get the up movement already!

So the news earlier but didn't want to publish it here on the forum for personal reasons, but however trump decisions as I always say are revenge driven and has no special profitable reasons other than wanting America to be supreme over every other countries and China be under its supremacy.

I'm still also very surprised that all the decisions where taken and the court or the judicial power never did anything against him violating the code of conduct as a president, exercised power too much power in decision making with his right hand man Musk on the tariffs.

Now it's a reversal period for bitcoin/the world economy and pretty much all the speculation for the week has failed yet I'm still hopeful that we will begin to get more ATHs from now since the courts had restrained him from tariffs wars for now.

Re: WhatsApp now the new platform targeted to steal users privacies and funds.
by
Churchillvv
on 28/05/2025, 20:03:44 UTC
It's one of few cases where people with common security awareness would become a victim. WhatsApp should've prevented script/program inside image from being executed. While the news doesn't mention it, i wonder whether this vulnerability still works if you disable certain permission on WhatsApp.

[1] Since most of this scammers get contacts from groups and other places where one exposed their contact Without ones awareness it's best to head over to your WhatsApp settings > Privacy > Advanced > Then enable Block unknown account messages.

That's good idea. But it's not practical if you live on place where WhatsApp is very popular where legitimate people (such as recruiter or delivery courier) is likely to contact you using WhatsApp.
Right! it could obstruct a lot for guys who use WhatsApp as regular contact however, one can use the second option which is only download images on will. that is more practical as you can point out who is sending you an image and if it's from an unknown contact then one would skeptical about it and avoid downloading it.

This is not to be blamed on WhatsApp whatsoever, but on the carelessness of the victims or intending victims. And this has nothing to do with the end-to-end encryption, they are different things.
Rule number 2; never you think it can't happen to you, if guys with high tech knowledge can fall victim of different scam or malicious attacks, you shouldn't ever think your immune to this and the victims are careless because one could be careful but the evolution of attacks could beat your awareness which is a good reason OP posted this as an awareness/warning.

My best advice to anyone dealing with cryptocurrencies is ; Cold wallet/offline wallet is the most secured way to protect you coins.

Whatever you do in crypto doing wallet related activities is best practiced offline as it's the most secured.

Additionally, having an airgapped device is more advisable to ensure your control of attacks, since the internet is not secured.

Someone already proposed a subforum for Developers here proposal about another subforum: DEV

However, if you're an IT or DEV you can create a thread just like the (The Alliance Of Bitcointalk Translators) thread which you can list names of Dev's only on their will then  when people request for developers in Bitcointalk you can refer them.

Re: Malware Installs Fake Ledger Live App on macOS
by

Years back a lot of people claimed MacOS was immune to phishing attacks but in recently it proves otherwise that the internet generally isn't a safe place instead person care is more important especially for us who deal with crypto and bitcoin especially.

This fake ledger live app has been discussed if can remember but it was only targeting windows only but today it's more like general attacks, we just have to be careful. Probably airgapped device for a cold wallet will be better so we don't come in contact with this phishing attacks.

Im not a fan of timming the market at all, but this is starting to be a clear path.

It's easy really, whenever you hear the word "tariffs" being mentioned by anyone even if it's anon you just take some fun money and short everything then you wait a few days to get confirmation from trump/white house and then you just give it up to a week tops before closing the short and turn it into a long. Rinse repeat!
I used to think I'm alone on this part but no we are more than I thought' trump tariffs are entry points and when he closes ready for profits.

Sounds simple but unpleasant to the my ears!

Re: Do you think games are rig to extend the series?
by

In the world of proletariat and bourgeois, every entertainment is a business, infact everything is a business however in the case of NBA sometimes it usually seems like there is a conspiracy but if thought twice it could be normal circumstances that lead to the extension of games. I personally do not think this extension is for business sake or for profit marginalisation.

I would agree if only there is a little case of evidence pointing towards that but since there is none it's more like our normal speculations during every match.

-snip -  I know WhatsApp to download image automatically as long as one has data connection, how then can one avoid it being downloaded? it's very scary at this point because I use WhatsApp and the images are just downloaded without ones permission.

This is indeed a good question : anyone has a clue?

[Solution]

Since OP only brought the recent scam and monitoring malware awareness without a possible solution to it, hence I have took my time look into WhatsApp and find some possible solution.

[1] Since most of this scammers get contacts from groups and other places where one exposed their contact Without ones awareness it's best to head over to your WhatsApp settings > Privacy > Advanced > Then enable Block unknown account messages.

[2] Since images download has an option of enabling and disabling, hence head over to WhatsApp settings > Storage and data > media auto-download > There are options of [When using mobile data, When connected on WiFi, When roaming.] > Click on each of them and un-check the image options and any other thing you do not want to download automatically on each of the options.

I believe this will be helpful to everyone, however I do not know if creating a separate thread on this guided with extensions on explaining the solution or just leaving it here?

I haven't really seen anything of this nature because I know WhatsApp to download image automatically as long as one has data connection, how then can one avoid it being downloaded? it's very scary at this point because I use WhatsApp and the images are just downloaded without ones permission. However this monitoring private key stealers have a way of it's operations and some threads before have educated us on how to avoid them.

Furthermore, the internet is not a safe place but one should observe every security measure that is good enough to help us stay safe.

Re: Holding Bitcoin the more could have doubled the Portfolio
by
Churchillvv
on 26/05/2025, 09:21:09 UTC
From my perspective, this case of German government selling seem like a tricky one, it's not clear if they truly sold but rather the cold wallet where it was held was reportedly emptied, they could have moved to their own exchange hence still holding till date.

However, if truly they had sold back then it would be considered a loss to them but a lesson to people to keep holding however, in my understanding, the seized this coins back in 2013 which means from the average price of 2013 to the time of sales it has really be a great from profit already for a government. Bitcoin was at $13 moved to $100 in April 2013 and October $200 so within the time of seizure which I'm not sure the price was relatively cheap and to a $55,000 at the time of sales, isn't that impressive profit?

However it held longer it would amount more but then how sure are we that this tricky governments sold? anyways it's a lesson to some and a stepping stone to making for holding encouragement.

Wasn't there a case of some BTCs that were rather seized than bought off to be sold afterward? It's the question of how these BTCs got to the government in the first place..
The coins where seized from some money laundering cases for running an illegal conspiracy site, it was originally from movie2k[1] a film piracy site.

Re: The perfect identify for a Nigerian whose major source of income is Bitcointalk
by

on 26/05/2025, 08:33:53 UTC
This question if what do you do for a living has been deliberated on severally however it has become a re-occuring issue of identity (what to identify as job in the society).

It may not sit well with a lot of users here because the forum is not a place of job or your are not employed here on the forum but rather make some extra earns by advertising companies within a little space of signature and avatar.

Considering other variables before conclusion, one can agree that we have several other opportunities here on the forum and not just paid signatures, we have Shillers, graphics designers etc who earn for offering services. hence we can not say that because we are participants on different signatures that is a forum of work.

Furthermore, to buttress the whole idea of what you do for a living, according to Theymos, the forum is creating an opportunity to earn while engaging in the community discussion hence to boost bitcoin stronghood by having a community of supporters.

If you consider all this, I think one is no different from those who run ads on social media and the rest of it, hence whatever one calls those who runs ads on socials should also be the same as one who advertises different companies and earn from it. if truly the cases of identifying what one does to law enforcement.

The word Brand Advertiser is more broad and covers both paid signatures and shilling, it also includes creative advertisers which has to do with designing and the rest of it, hence I prefer to call one a brand advertiser if your source of income is sole on the forum which shouldn't be though.

Considering this, I also had a rational thought on the different campaigns one participates it's a variety of Gambling, Mixers, Exchange, etc hence the word Brand covers them all.

With this one can easily identify as a Brand Advertiser, if then questioned further you can take you time to explain your role which most times don't happen.

On my opinion it's best to have other source of income or a skill to be identified with and consider the opportunity bitcoin community (Bitcointalk) offers as a side income or an extra rather than active income.
