Hi Claymore,

Is there any chance you can fix the "memory problem" that will affect Polaris Cards very soon ?
I quoted "memory problem" because it will also affect 8GB cards next month so there's not only a memory problem, but something else related to Polaris Cards

Thanks in advance for your answer

Re: BURST mining: Configs, pools, stats etc

Question:

I have 8 disks which I plot on fast computer using a wallet internal plotter. When I plotted 5th disk I've got the famous message on plots overlapping. I've deleted plots from 5th disk and assigned to it via Windows new letter which was not used for previous 4 disks (K:). I've plotted again - and got again the same error message.
Both overlapping disks had a plots starting from "0", so I decided to start plotting on 5th disk K from "2". Did plot again - and again got error message.

So - can anybody help to plot 5th and the rest of the disks without overlapping?

You should not start from 0, but from the number of plots on the previous disk. Example:
-Disk 1: plots start at 0 and has 13107200 plots
-Disk 2; plots start from 13107200 and has 13107200 plots
-Disk 3: plots start from 26214400 and has 13107200 plots
-Disk 4: plots start from 39321600 and has 13107200 plots
etc...

I think what Ahead mentioned is the aio wallet.
link:https://forums.burst-team.us/topic/16/burst-client-for-windows-v0-3-9-all-in-one-wallet-plotting-mining

That's right shadowlin, I was not aware of this GUI extension of the official wallet, it all makes sense now, thanks a lot !

But from what I see on the forum topic you linked, this GUI uses Janror's CPU plotter, which is what I used to create my plot files that were not optimized... But maybe they made some changes when integrating it into that GUI so I'll give it a try.

And thanks Ahead for your kind explanations

Hi,

I'm using the official wallet (windows)
You can get it here --> https://www.burst-team.us/index.php/wallets/. Download and Install!
No need to wait for local wallet to sync. Just use the online version of the wallet and plot your files. (at the bottom of the wallet)

Hi,

I use the exact same wallet (running locally)
After looking at some Youtube tutorials, I could see the buttons you are talking about at the bottom of the wallet, but I don't have them
I guess it's a browser issue, but I've tried Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Internet Explorer, and none of them displays those buttons...
Any idea ?

Many thanks !

Browser?!?!
The wallet you have downloaded needs to be run as a program on your PC.
Run the "Burst Wallet" NOT the "Burst Wallet on the Web"

Hi,
OFC I do run the burst wallet (client) on my PC
But when I access my wallet through localhost:8125 I don't have the buttons for plotting, mining, etc...

No more RX470's on the market ! What would you suggest as replacement ?
by

Hi all,

I am willing to build a new ETH mining Rig with 8 GPU's

Saddly I can't find anymore the Sapphire Radeon RX470 OC 4GB Reference

I love these cards for many reasons:
  • They are cheap (194.99€)
  • They consume low power (My 6xRX470 Rig is powered by a good 1000W PSU)
  • They've been running 24/7 since beginning of november 2016 without a single issue
  • They have a very High ASIC Quality (according to GPU-Z) better than more expensive cards
  • They are more stable than the Nitro+ version
  • All the Hot Air exhaust by the rear of the card, I like the Reference design

Which card would you suggest as a replacement for my new Rig (should be around 220€ max) ? What do you think about the RX570/580 ? What are the other good brand besides Sapphire ?

Thanks all for your advices.

Hi all,

My first try at mining BURST on my Celeron powered ETH Mining Rig went smoothly and everything works fine wihout any conflict. I'm only using a 800GB plot file for now, this is the available space I had on my Rig's HDD. The purpose was mainly to test that it works with the Celeron and with Claymore's ETH miner running at the same time. So the answer is YES ! I will now add external USB drives little by little as I can afford.

But let me explain the steps I went through, because I think there might be other or simpler ways to do things, so please feel free to comment, thanks.

To create my plot file, I have used wplotgenerator.exe Dowloaded from this page but it doesnt creates optimized plot files
I created the plot file (800GB) with my desktop computer (Intel Core i5 4590 - 16GB RAM) so it was quite fast. I created the plot file on an external 2TB USB drive with 1TB space available.

After that, I ran the BURST Plot Optimier GUI and generated the optimized plot file directly on my ETH Mining Rig.

If I'm not wrong I can create my plot file on a fast computer, and then move it to the Celeron Rig while optimizing it, correct ?
Optimize first then move it across.
The problem is the plot optimizer is not modifying the unoptmized plot file, it creates a new file, that's why you need to create the optimized file on another drive unless you have enough space on your drive to hold the two files (unoptimized and optimized)

The problem with doing this way is: if you have let's say 4 disks of 5TB, you can hardly optimize the 4th drive because you don't have 5TB of available temporary free space.
You can check the message I left to IMineBlocks about this problem as a comment to his great video, it explains the problems with more details and an example.

Hi,
If you are using the "in-wallet" plotter, then the plots you are creating are already optimized. No need to optimize them again. Also if you open the plot optimizer it will tell you that the plot is already optimized.
Which wallet are you using ?
I am using this wallet: https://github.com/BurstProject/burstcoin and there is no option to create plot file, unless I didn't find it ?

Any help will be greetly  appreciated, thanks again !

Hi,
BURST is mined with HDDs, not GPUs or CPUs. So you can load your rigs with hard drives (to certain extend of course) and mine.

CPU or GPU is used when you plotting,...

Thanks guys for your quick replies, much appreciated. I'll give it a try, but I have some trouble downloading the blockchain (last try failed at 95%  Huh)

... but plotting with celeron will probably take a significantly longer time to accomplish, but doable.

If I'm not wrong I can create my plot file on a fast computer, and then move it to the Celeron Rig while optimizing it, correct ?

Hi all :-)

I built an ETH mining Rig with 6x RX470 six months ago
(Windows 10, CPU Intel Celeron G1850, 8GB DDR3)

I was wondering if I could mine something worth with the CPU
I'd like to give Burst a try, but I'm wondering if the Celeron is powerfull enough for this, or in other words what are the minimum requirements for BURST CPU mining

Any info would be much appreciated

Thanks :-)

Has anyone else noticed the Ripple exchange on poloniex is a complete and total fraud? It is run 100% completely by bots. Just sit and watch it operate for awhile and by awhile, I mean hours. I've noticed at least 3 different patterns that they go through. Basically they're giving away free Ripple. Now that I've brought it to your attention, can someone please look and let me in on how to take advantage? Could the gunbot do this?

I've been closely watching the XRP/BTC market for the past 3 days, like 16 hours/day, and I noticed the exact same thing. Even wondering if those bots aren't ran by Polo themself.

I made some good profit shorting XRP, I didn't feel safe running gunbot on this pair but I might be wrong.

Hi Gunthar. Thanks for your work. How do we get the latest version?

Nice to see recent updates Gunthar! Like other said, how do we get latest version? I pm'd you as well.

Guys you can get the latest release ("Bail. In" Pre-release) in the same repo you got the one you are using.
Sorry I am not allowed to post the link but you might have it.

~snip

Awesome test tx! Suggestion: raise "Time Delay Price", by the moment the bot sends the BUY order and the moment it is placed correctly on the order book, might pass a few seconds (especially if your original order is split in microorders) so, if the price stays cheap enough, the bot would keep buying over your Max Balance%, until the poloniex callback says us the orders are placed.
~Gun

Thanks for this suggestion. I have set Time delay price to 60, which value would you suggest ?

And can I just stop all bots, change Time delay price, and restart the same pairs ? I actually have only SELL orders pending. Will the bots recover properly if stopped and restarted like this ?

Thanks Gunthar for your detailed answers, much appreciated !

Ok here is my first feedback about Gunbot after a few hours using it.

My initial balance on 2017/02/14 at 07:00 is 0.62957643 BTC

I started Gunbot on five pairs on BTC Market: FCT, XMR, PASC, XRP and DASH

For this first test I set parameters on all pairs as:
Gain: 1%
Max Balance to Trade: 5% (I wanted to start with small amounts at first try)
Security Margin: 50%
Max Latest Prices: 300
EMA1: 2 - EMA2: 4
Minimum volume: 50
Minimum variation: 5%
Candlesticks : 15 mins

So far Gunbot bought on all five markets
It sold on XRP market with a profit of +0.00034497 BTC, my first earnings  Smiley
All other markets have Sell Orders placed.

PROBLEMS

1)  Problems with Max Balance to Trade:

Gunbot bought 0.09128849 worth of XMR which is 14.5% of my initial BTC balance, when it was set to 5%.

My remaining balance was then 0.53828794 BTC

Then Gunbot Purchased 0.04496919 worth of DASH, which is 8.35% of the remaining BTC balance, when it was set to 5%

My remaining balance was then 0.49331875 BTC

Then Gunbot purchased 0.08677201 worth of FCT, which is 17.59% of the remaining BTC balance, when it was set to 5%

My remaining balance was then 0.40654674 BTC

Then Gunbot purchased 0.05248306 worth of XRP, which is 12.9% of the remaining BTC balance, when it was set to 5%

My remaining balance was then 0.35406368 BTC

There were no SELLS between all these BUYS

Maybe I missunderstood something, or did something wrong, but it seems Gunbot trades (a lot) more than Max Balance to Trade.

2) I have no indication of the best pairs to trade according to the Minimum Volume (50) and the Minimum Variation (5%) I have set.

3) Nonce errors

After 6 hours of work, I have in my err.txt file more than 600 lines of this kind:

Code:
BTC_XMR === ERROR ===Nonce must be greater than 1903075251813002. You provided 1903075251813001.
BTC_PASC === ERROR ===Nonce must be greater than 1903075334489001. You provided 1903075334488001.

BTC_PASC === ERROR ===Nonce must be greater than 1903075375931002. You provided 1903075375931001.
BTC_XRP === ERROR ===Nonce must be greater than 1903075409270002. You provided 1903075409270001.
BTC_DASH === ERROR ===Nonce must be greater than 1903075410277001. You provided 1903075410275001.
BTC_DASH === ERROR ===Nonce must be greater than 1903075463360002. You provided 1903075463360001.
BTC_PASC === ERROR ===Nonce must be greater than 1903075468275001. You provided 1903075468274001.

Is this normal ?

SUGGESTIONS

1) I think it is not necessary to repeateadly display in the console these messages:

Code:
=== Checking pumps/dumps to not get entraped... BTC_XRP

=== Checking pumps/dumps to not get entraped... BTC_XRP

=== Checking BTC rallies to not get entraped... BTC_XRP

=== Checking BTC rallies to not get entraped... BTC_XRP

We know the script is doing this and it floods the console with useless info, I would rather indicate when the condition is met, like "Pump/Dump Detected, operations suspended..."

2) It would be good to have timestamps for all events in both log.txt and err.txt, makes it easier to follow what happens with the bot.

That's all for now... more to come

Oh wait ... Gunbot just made another cycle buy/sell on BTC_XRP, my profit is now +0.00057978 BTC  Cheesy

Thanks again for your kind help and support, and keep on the good job !

Hi all

I got the following error while trying to start my first trades ... any idea ?

Code:
BTC_FCT === ERROR ===Permission denied
Undefined

I see the same in err.txt

I get the same error with any pair

I am on Win 10 64 Pro on an account with admin privileges and UAC disabled.
I have excluded Gunbot directory from Windows Defender
I have added gunbot.exe, engine.exe and 1000trades.exe to the firewall authorized apps

EDIT: Problem found !
I had my API Key restricted to trusted IP, but I forgot to set my IP
I was wondering wether I delete this post, but I thought it might help ppl encountering the same problem

i asked gunthr about the 2%/60% thing and he said use 2% for coins that are crap and will go away eventually and use 60% for good coins.  If you don't  know what i mean by that then i'd say good coins are coins over 1 year old where the price in bitcoin is near where it was a year ago more or less.  and has vol>40btc/day.   that's my criteria.

Thanks a lot clf99 !

Dear Gunthar,

Yesterday before purchasing Gunbot, I read entirely the 29 pages of this topic, I guess I got a little bit tired at the end, and a bit confused by all the recent changes as described in the last 4~5 pages.

First, thanks for sending me download link and instructions so quickly :-)

I have a few questions:

1) I can see by default Security Margin is set to 2% (I remember it used to be set to 60% earlier). At 2% that doesn't leaves a lot of room for the coin to move. Don't you think it might result in a lot of sells at 2% loss ?

2) Is Max latest prices the number of 15 mins candles ? ie 300 = 75 hours of data ? Or is it the number of different tickers received (thus unknown time period) ?

3) Could you store our credentials locally so we don't have to input them manually each time we start Gunbot ?

Hi Gunthar,

Does Gunbot allows to run trades on different markets simultanesously ?
If yes, will the 2nd, 3rd, etc... markets trade 10% of the remaining balance ? Or 10% of the total balance including funds already on trade ? (which would limit the number of simulaneaous trades to 10 if I am right)
