Re: Future of BITCOIN CASH ?
by

the fork coins are not capable of having long term potential because no matter what they do, in the end they will remain a fork coin, a coin that was copied and created out of an original cryptocurrency.
on top of that, BCH didn't do a complete copy of bitcoin. it only copied part of bitcoin and removed a lot of additional options from it which limited its potential even more.
the only reason why it stays around is because Bitmain is a multi million dollar company that is keeping it alive.

You may be able to copy a code but you can’t copy a community, therefore I also do not see a lot of growth potential for all these forks. All they do is harm the original chain by forcing the community to majke a decision which chain to support. In the end often only a small chunk leaves the original chain and goes with the fork.

Re: Patience is the key

As a matter of fact, it is very few number of noobs in the cryptocurrency business that understand the level at which patience is required and valuable in the business. I do tell my friends around me that wish to come in to the business “it’s only patience ones that would feed from the milk of a lion” . I bought some coins few weeks ago, which I decided to hold while it was dipping but I keep holding with zero fear and absolute patience. Presently, i’m In over 47% profit in all. My advice to my colleagues is all you need is buy into coins with good potential and relax even while it’s at dip. Trust me, you won’t live to regret anything if only you would be able to hold with patience. Thanks

Patience is really the key? It is very important  in investment and business. But  I really need to work hard and insert More patience to gain prosperity in life..

Time is gold but i believe that waiting is also important especially in crypto currency because there is no easy money here, we need to face how risky we are doing everytime we invest our money on crypto.

It’s a big misconception that crypto is easy money. Like in every market you need knowledge and experience to be successful. Real knowledge cannot be learned from books overnight but comes from being exposed to a market. People who came in during the end of the bull market had to learn the lesson the hard way.

Re: Cryptocurrencies are going down
by

Yes cryptocurrencies are going down day by day, because market are still not recover. But this situation is normal, in crypto there was so called VOLATILITY, meaning their price may goes up or goes down. So the best thing to do is patience and time, wait for the day of markets recover.

No, volatility is when price changes from time to time, and this value is expressed as a percentage - high volatility is about 10%, low - 1-2%. So price should change in both directions - up and down. Current market is not volatile - it is falling Wink
Anyway it will recover and take new highs, so you are right about being calm

The market is turning green in the past few weeks, and some altcoins have started to pump very well, for example, DOGE has been x3 in just one week with volume up to more than $ 100 million. It reminds me of this time last year  Roll Eyes

What took a week to get up came down in a few hours. Many called this a bull trap and unfortuately they were right. This was the 4th rallye in the bear market that failed and we continue to see lower lows. I laughed at Technical Analysts a while ago, I am no more laughing now.

Greed didn't allow me to sell everything at the peak of the price. But I got an invaluable experience.

I guess this was the case with many people and I am also guilty of it. But as you say, you gained experience. This is probably more valuable than all the money you lost. First of all the losses are only paper losses until you sell and secondly, you will make better decisions and take profits.

Personally, I choose NEO for long-term investment.

Same here, I think NEO will soon be in the same league as Ethereum, the fundamentals are very good. NEO can handle more transactions and also is much easier to develop on, you can use common known languages as Javascript or C++
Actually buying some NEO it was better because it is trusted coins and you can earn enough profit. And yes it is true can handle more transactions and easy way to use of it.

Yes indeed, at the moment NEO really ticks all the boxes, especially now while Ethereum is on a sharp decline. There is a lot uncertainty, all the fud, upcoming hard fork and even Vitalik admitted the days of explosive growth are over.

Re: How can we protect ourselves from scam?

The best way to avoid scam campaigns is to thoroughly research the campaign before deciding to participate in or invest in it. In the current cryptocurrency market, scam campaigns are very high, more than 80%, so it's important to research ICO projects, or to participate in ICOs that are managed by well-known management forums such as yahoo. , atriz, deadley.

I agree that it is critical to do thorough research but it is still a gamble to pick the right campaigns. How do you come up with the number 80% scams, it seems very high to me. Also would be interesting if you could share your methodology to uncover scam campaigns.

Currently, all cryptography is only at the beginning of its formation. If you believe that crypto is our future, then you have no other way than to invest in crypto-currencies. Especially in such as bitcoin and ethereum. However, it will be more reasonable to add to your investment portfolio a few more large coins to reduce the risks.

Bitcoin and Ethereum should be part of any portfolio, not the fastest growing but less volatile. Most people are weak on diversification and focus either on small caps or established coins. It’s way better to have a wide mix of coins like at least 10 or better 20 coins so if one coin drops by 50% you never loose more than a few percent.

I think it is better to buy Ethereum if you want a long term investment. Ethereum is a platform for new promising cryptocurrency projects, and this can make it greater than bitcoin which offers only secure payments

I agree, the scope of Ethereum is much wider and it has suffered a lot more than Bitcoin in recent months, therefore it should also bounce back stronger than Bitcoin. By the time Bitcoin will have doubled in price, Ethereum will have likely trippled.

Let's be honest, no one today can really understand how seriously everything can turn around, I'm talking about AI, because it's an artificial intellect and very soon it will surpass us, because it will be very easy to do.

In the longterm I also think AI will make a big impact. But now it's just a buzz word. Ian Balina worked at IBM Watson, which is the most developed AI and even he thinks we are far away from taking real advantage out of it...it will take good few more years.

The crypto world is so vast and they are interest from all continents of the world. Some investors / projects came with good intentions to make the world a better place while some to defraud investors and projects founder. Can we have a better way correct scam and lapses?
It's easy actually, don't download something suspicious file or exe on the internet because it might be a virus or malware that can take your information on your pc including your coin wallet. Always check twice or even many times on the website before login your wallet and don't forget to install antivirus or antimalware on your pc to protect your pc.

I never download anything, it's far too risky. If I read you need to download a wallet I walk away straight away. In our age of cloud computing downloading anything that only works on a local machine is a joke anyway. Online Wallets are the way to go.

Re: How to choose bounty?
by
Cointje
on 31/08/2018, 13:22:36 UTC
Short checklist for bounty:

1. Bounty Pool
Focus on the dollar equivalent. The bigger, the better. But a large pool is one of the indirect signs of a scam.

2. Number of participants
Less is better. Take into account, together with paragraph #1. For example, if a company has not a large pool, but the people in it are few, then you can make good money.

3. Already invested money in the project (if ICO started)
If in the first days (I limit to 1 week) the amounts are insignificant, then it is better to abandon this project, because it is unlikely that the situation will radically change by the end of the ICO

4. Bounty manager
A lot depends on him. The forum has a lot of information about them. Personally, I like Amazix team

5. Activity
Look at the activity in the ANN topic, in the Telegram channel. The higher it is, the higher the interest in the project.

In fact, the selection criteria are much larger, but these 5 points will avoid explicit scams

Would be interested in the the rest of your selection criteria but these are good to start with. Something that people do not look into is the form of payment. Many projects just pay with their token, others share the amount of ethereum that is collected. I prefer pretty much the 2nd option as you don't have to sign up at some crappy exchange just to trade your rewards.

I know the mew or the myetherwallet.com occurrence yesterday caused the market dumpage as it is the fundamental wallet of a large portion of the erc20 based tokens the market has faltered in light of the fact that it is similar strategies which the etherdelta.com has confronted couple of months ago.Clearly these individuals are experts since you cannot hack DNS servers particularly when you dont recognize what you are doing.

i missed that there was something going on with myetherwallet. What exactly happened, was it another dns attack and users got forwarded to an imposter site who logged in that date?

The percentage of newbies in the crypto space is so much that they are big market influencers even when they do not know it.
The best thing for newbies to do in this market is to be patient and not panic at every sign of FUD.

Join DeStream ICO: https://destream.io/?referralId=adf52557d7994818a3bf8131262f2179#action=bountyreg

My impression is rather the opposite, a lot of newbies and weak hands have already panic sold and left the space...I guess new people are coming into the space which is good I guess...folks that have not been burned yet and bring fresh money.

Re: Alt coins worth buying

You need to constantly monitor what is happening with the market and what coins are worth buying. Some altcoins initially seem promising and even included in the Top 100, but after a while you realize that the team does not fulfill promises or others.

Most projects do a 180 degree change once ICO is over,  you can see this immediately in their telegram groups. admins that were present 24/7 suddenly take all the time in the world to get back questions,  if they do at all. Would be interesting to hear what other tools you are using to monitor altcoins?

no matter what happens after a thousands years BCH will still remain the coin that split from bitcoin to create a useless altcoin. it is copy of bitcoin without the additional benefits. so it is a shorter copy of it.

it doesn't have any future, it is a centralized altcoin with no usage and nothing to offer. when it comes to altcoins your competition becomes much harder because you are not competing with nearly 2000 different competitors and some of them are very strong even though they may have lower prices right now.

It has higher block sizes and there were some advantages regarding cost and speed of transaction a while ago. Now we are in a downturn with decreased volume and currently it makes almost no difference to use either Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash. I don't think it's dead, when we enter another bul market the battle between those coins will continue

Sure, I am always and would continue to be optimistic concerning this. Because it is crypto we are talking of here and in the crypto world, anything can happen. The unexpected in the big positive side can really happen again even more than the one that occurred before...

We have been in a bear market for about half a year, the prices were going down lower and lower with some failed rally's in between. It looks like we're doomed.

Question: who can tell me the average length of a bear market based on the data we collected in the last 5 years?

Bitcoin is a very popular coin that has the highest price, but it is better to buy only the underestimated coins which have the potential for growth in the future. Recently, the price has decreased for such well-known coins as Ethereum, Ripple and IOTA, so now the purchase of these coins is expedient and promising.

In this turmoil I would also advice to stay with established cryptos that have an existing product and community. Most smallcaps got wrecked this year and the bloodbath is not over yet

They are temporarily rising to my mind, btc is still very low and there is no much volume, market is green but they are fake I think so I dont buy anything at these days still.

When there is not much volume and many couns in double digit growth despite absence of news it is always fishy. I don‘t want to know how many people jumped in this trap only to wake up today with a double digit loss.
