Re: who of you uses btc in deep web (and how)?
by

where is this deep web or if you meant dark web?
i have heard about silkroad that was a thing before i even knew about bitcoin which is closed now and they arrested a lot of them.

Here the explanation: The Dark Web is classified as a small portion of the Deep Web that has been intentionally hidden and is inaccessible through standard web browsers.

Isn't the Deep web and the dark web the same thing? People use them interchangeable at least but I think dark web sounds more sinister and is used for the more criminal aspects of it.

Re: General Football Discussion - 2015/16 Season

machester city is win season 2015/2016 in EPL next cointainder chelsea, manchester united, arsenal, liverlpoll and hotspur

After their start I think you may be right about a City win. I had high hopes for Manchester United before the season started but they've been playing abysmal. I can see them drawing or even losing to the so far unbeaten Swansea this weekend.

manchester united lost is team underdog swansea city, is bad manchester united, machester united is must buy center back

Their main worry at this point are attackers. It's shocking to see how they try to play the ball to each other like Barcelona without striking force. They are about to sign Anthony Martial from AS Monaco, which isn't enough. They need another striker.

If they don't get any atackers then they're in trouble. I don't think Gaal will be able to grab any decent ones before the transfer window closes. He'll probably end up buying some crappy ones out of desperation.

You call Swansea underdog but their attackers are better than Manchester United. They have Andre Ayew and Bafetimbi Gomis. Actually they both scored a goal against United this game. Wink

Both of Swanseas goals were great. They deserved the win.

He hasn't taken a deep-dive into the protocol, as you can see from his quote regarding 51% attacks

I agree. He seems far from an expert on bitcoin, though you would think he would have more knowledge. Though maybe he's looking at it from a neutral position and we are biased slightly as I guess a 51% attack could happen so it could be an issue though likely wont. And if that's his only issue with bitcoin its not too bad at all.

Google the address it came from or search this forum with it. It's nothing to worry about. Are you sure its not a faucet payout or something? At the least it'll just be spam. If you post the tx id people might be able to help you though.

Re: Is there any site similar to bitcointalk.org

I have seen a few offers about signature campaigns outside the forum, but they are not worth, and are nothing compared to here. I don't know if they are still open or not, but definitely they are not worth

Which forums are those?

https://bitcointa.lk/

It's like this forum, but with way less traffic. Other than that, I don't know any other forum. I don't think there will be any other bitcoin forum with more traffic and better posters than you can find here.

it looks like the mirror of here. are you sure it is another forum and not just mirror?
because i see the same topics there too

It is a mirror as someone said above.

Re: YouTube Removes Movie Trailer Questioning Whether People Are Born Gay

Did youtube actually comment or issue a statement why they removed it? Sometimes it has other infringing content but the owners will proclaim some conspiracy. I think controversial things should be allowed though and removing unpopular stuff like this is just censorship at the end of the day ( if it was removed for unpopular opinion etc).

I think we may see an underdog win. None of the big teams have been playing great and even some surprising losses like Brazil losing. Paraguay are doing pretty well so far and they drew with Argentina.

Re: Silk Road Founder Ross Ulbricht Sentenced to Life in Prison
by
Collymore
on 07/06/2015, 14:43:01 UTC
For those asking the judge gave a non-binding recommendation that he go to FCI Petersburg I in Virginia. If the public safety factor is not waived, the judge recommended he go to USP Tuscon in Arizona or USP Colemale II in Florida.

So, Ross will still be jailed even if he challenges the judgement in higher court ?

He's been in prison since he first got arrested. So even if he was found not guilty he would have been in prison a year. Anyone know what happens when people have been jailed and then been found innocent? Do they get compensation for being falsely imprisoned? I can't imagine losing a year of your life for something like that and if I did I'd want to be adequately compensated.

Anyone's thoughts on Arsenal and Sunderland today? Will Sunderland lay down?

nope i give all chances for arsenal but this can be draw on the end.

I could see them pulling out a draw. A point will be vital as they've got chelsea in their final match though with chelsea losing 3-0 to west brom last week you never know.

Re: When would be the moment you consider BTC's future is assured?
by

I would like to say mainstream adoption but will bitcoin ever be fully assured? I think any good idea or tech is always under threat from advances in new tech and better ideas. Something better than bitcoin could come along eventually but hopefully btc could evolve and adapt to make those changes if necessary.

EDIT: Why were they in a running San Francisco case against them?
Links?

After Ross' arrest they found the file LEcounterintel.doc on his pc, where he wrote about getting insider information from a cop.

Link:

http://www.justice.gov/sites/default/files/opa/press-releases/attachments/2015/03/30/criminal_complaint_force.pdf

Edit: Along with the criminal complaint there were released some more chat files with VJ. Dunno the links atm.

Why ross kept logs of this sort of stuff or anything at all regarding silk road is beyond belief. Then he makes it even worse by keeping it all on his laptop that he actually uses to run sr. Just doesn't make any sense.

Can someone put up a (6 day) countdown gif for GoT season 5?  Huh

Am I the only one that doesn't get all the fuss about Game of Thrones? I didn't get the hype of Breaking Bad. I mean it was alright but not as mindblowing as everyone makes out.

Comedy

The Office

Seinfeld
30 Rock
Community
Silicon Valley
Veep
Louie
Modern Family

The US or UK version. I'm hoping the UK but looking at the others it's likey the US version  Cheesy.

I think it will be far more than that by 2019

Me too, though this is of course wishful thinking on my part. I think the remittance market alone could be used by that figure but whether it will or not we'll just have to wait and see.

You know, all this is wild speculation. There is no proven method to predict BTC's growth.

But you know how much people like to speculate. Sometimes that's all their is to do to keep yourself occupied when btc activity is slow. Nice to think/dream about, though.

Re: Islamic State says it has killed two men for homosexuality
by
Collymore
on 11/03/2015, 10:51:28 UTC
Um this isn't new. They've killed lots of alledged homosexuals. They frequently seem to be throwing them off buildings. What I wonder is how do they even know they're homosexuals? Probably just like a witch hunt I bet.
This is a default position for the Islamic state, I'm more concerned about artifact destruction, and women issues
Not to say that this is not bad, just saying that with ISIS homosexual killing does not seem like such a strange thing considering what they represent, and their hatred of Western Culture that tolerates and accepts this.

As for how they know well assuming they caught them in the act, if not its a witch hunt against people they don't like or go against them.

How can you say you're more concerned about artifact destruction or womens issues? Both are important but not more than a hunman life, especially the artifacts. You cannot compare killing homosexuals to destroying bits of fancy rock (as outrageous or  immoral as it may be).

Note: It is still not a bad deal for those without a full member account to (indirectly) work for a signature campaign. Though in the longer term it would be much better to farm (grow) your own sig. campaign accounts if you plan to post this much.

Has he even stated what rank they are? That's assuming they're Full Members. Could be lower. I think you would very likely get your account(s) banned if you tried to do 100 posts a day on each. I think if you did 100 a week you would get banned. I don't think employing someone else to do this would work or is a good idea for several reasons but that's just me.

If the banks tried to buy that many coins all it would do would push up the price of the remaining coins that they can't get their hands onto to insane amounts. I'll be very rich if they do, so they can go right ahead but they're not going to do this as it obviously wouldn't work.

It's always free to recieve, though you can try send a transaction without a fee and it'll usually work though it may take a while to confirm and you should try send a small fee to help the miners.

Re: [2015-01-29] McDonald’s might start accepting Bitcoin soon
by
Collymore
on 02/02/2015, 13:36:12 UTC
Why am I the only person, not happy about this? Just what we need.... another HUGE organization, who come in, adopt Bitcoin to get them a new source of income.

They then take ALL those Bitcoins, and convert them to fiat to pay their bills. This drive the price of Bitcoin lower, due to a increased in dumped coins on the exchange and then that force the trolls and shills to come out of hiding. {They only come out, when the price is low... screaming "Bitcoin is DEAD"}

Bring the REAL Bitcoin merchants... like Overstock, who have it's best interest at heart and I will gladly SUPPORT them.

Roll Eyes. Companies accepting bitcoin whoever they are is not a bad thing. There are always people buying back the bitcoins. Do you really expect for everyone just to buy coins to hoard them? Not all businesses can keep some or all of their coins and it would probably be bad business practice for them to do so.
