To everyone having problems with their wallets:
I've been using Coinomi after fighting with the original Wallets for days and I have had not one single problem in months using it.
Shows me all kinds of coins including the $$ amounts.

Just saying.

Coin developer needed (mineable, SoCal based preferred)
by
CryptoBro75
on 12/11/2017, 22:18:01 UTC
Hi,
I just started a new business concept and I'm looking for someone to develop a coin.

Basic information:
1. Mineable (including pre-mining), Windows mining app would be great, Android even better, more tbd
2. We will have an ICO at some point (I will have the credentials needed once we get to that point)
3. Everything absolutely legit. Must meet all requirements to get listed on all important trading platforms
4. Work closely with me and have the possibility to come to California if necessary (I might need you with me to talk to investors - mostly in L.A. but also San Francisco)

I have people interested in investing and companies that want to start a partnership with the project so I need a capable developer.
This job will obviously be paid plus a bonus after a successful ICO.

If you are interested in working on a new, fascinating business model that hopefully changes the world feel free to contact me through PM.

All the best,
Marcus

PS: I will be at the "World Funding Summit" in L.A. this weekend which focuses on Cryptocurrency and ICO's so if there's someone here who's also coming let me know.
PPS: If this is the wrong forum please move. Thank you.

Re: Mine new coin: VoteCoin - equihash, very low difficulty now
by

Best reason for mining this is because it's low difficulty?
I don't see a lot of features.

I think the difficulty is not really low now...
The difficulty is actually surprisingly high. I only mined about 50 VOT's in about 8 hours on a 1060 3GB. That's the same amount I mine XVG (and they have a brighter future tbh). I will mine a few more days to see if it gets a little better and might switch back to XVG.
I just started the whole Cryptocurrency and mining thing a month ago and don't have a big rig yet so I gotta choose something with a future and an actual return for now since I'm mainly testing the waters so far. Big rig will be built in a few weeks. Then I will for sure come back to VOT. I will still leave the node running every now and then though to help out a little.

Hi
 excuse me
how mined Xvg???and how much with one GPU??
Thanks say to me
I'm using Windows ccminer on idcray pool. I use the myr-groestl algorithm. Concept is the same as any other Command Line miner. There are videos on youtube on how to set it up. You might also want to check the XVG (Verge) forum here on BCT.

@Everyone: Sorry to hijack this thread... :$

Interesting, 50 xvg in 8 hours? What's the settings on that 1060

I'm getting 140-160 XVG a day which makes it an average of 50 per 8 hours.
It's a Gigabyte 1060 3GB. Driver V385.41.
Settings are +160 Core and +683 Mem making it 1556/4482Mhz. 67 Degrees. Fan is set on auto but I set everything a little higher because of the temperatures here in SoCal.

Edit: The GPU has Samsung Memory which makes it a little faster than GPU with Hynix Memory. I learned that from the "Bits be tripping" youtube channel so I made sure I got exactly this 1060.

Is idcray a scam pool? Their luck is terrible long term. They're stuck at 120% where as other pools are 105%. I realize coins with blocks this fast have more orphans.. But, this is ridiculous...

Interesting. Gotta check that (113% at the moment).
Any better pool?

He shouldn't use "votecoin_build_fedora.sh" as ubuntu is debian Wink So the correct version is "votecoin_build_debian.sh".

Wow. Yes. Sorry. That's what I meant. However. I just installed it over the build.sh and that worked.

PS: And did you mean apt-get upgrade... ? Wink

I'm not very knowledgeable here (since I just started) but I compiled the wrong program first.
Are you sure you're compiling "votecoin_build_fedora.sh". I used "build.sh" before and it caused problems.

Where market is this votecoin?

No market yet. This is waaaayyyy before ICO even. If you mine this you need to understand: You never know - this might never hit the market. So mine and/or help at your own risk. But if it hits the market you already have hundreds - if not hundreds of thousands - of coins already. It's a gamble. But with great potential to make a ton of money.... Wink

It works fine for GTX 1060, GTX 1070, GTX 1080ti for me on Windows 10 Drivers: 384.94

In new excavatoor(i run 1.2.11a) config looks different, mine *conf.json file is like that:

Code:
[
{"time":1,"commands":[
{"id":1,"method":"algorithm.add","params":["equihash","pool.votecoin.site:3333","t1NMhTYNDcyx19pvhFWpYCAAsewzV34GC77.1060_komp"]}
]},
{"time":3,"commands":[
{"id":1,"method":"worker.add","params":["0","0"]},
{"id":1,"method":"worker.add","params":["0","0"]}
]},
{"time":10,"loop":10,"commands":[
{"id":1,"method":"worker.print.speed","params":["0"]},
{"id":1,"method":"algorithm.print.speeds","params":["0"]}
]}
]
Works with GTX1060 Smiley

Just copy paste and chage to your wallet address, be sure that you modify default_command_file.json as it is the default config file.

Thank you. That worked. Also mining with a 1060 now.

Never though I would be able to do it since I have no clue about Linux (first time today!!) but I set up a node and will let it run every now and then. Hope it helps get the network a little faster. Already did more than 23k transaction confirmations. Started extremely fast and now slowed down a lot. I guess you needed me... Wink

But:
Can anybody post a full .bat file for Windows mining with Excavator or any other Windows miner? I'm trying but Excavator gets stuck while initializing. Getting AMD display errors (and have Nvidia).
Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Used Claymore and CCminer until now for other Coins and got them to work.
Used both votecoinmine.site pool versions mentioned here (with Stratum and without) but none worked.

Thank you for help.

I'm actually (negatively) surprised that the creators do not address the problems many people seem to have right now.
I sent 200 tks to a different wallet (Verge Tor Android) and although it turns up on the blockchain nothing happens in my wallet. Keeps saying not connected.
I think there should be a way bigger uproar about this.
If this was BTC, ETH or similar people would go nuts.

As a temp fix, you can download the tor browser and install. Open it and leave it running. Then download the tor version of electrum wallet and replace the files in your standard electrum wallet folder. It is the same wallet, just has tor privacy. It works.
Does not work either. I had it running for 2 days now. Did not synchronize once.
Coinomi seems to be working but a few hundred coins payment from my mining pool are still in Limbo (for 3 days now). Never arrived in the wallet.

the tor electrum server didnt need to be scaled, and it has worked the entire time. make sure you are connecting to port 50001 maybe? also, pool payments are not related to us, contact the pool owner if you have issues with a pool.
This is the Android Tor Wallet. There is no way for me to changed servers (at least I couldn't find one). I was able to that in the Electrum Windows Wallet though. The payment has been sent by the pool. I can see it on the Blockchain connected to my wallet address so it should be in my Wallet (the reason I wrote it's in Limbo) - yet the Wallet keeps saying "Not connected" and "No coins received yet".
The thing is:
I'm not the only one having this problem. I've read of at least 20 more people here (just a few posts back) and on the Vergecurrency Reddit forum who claim the Wallet does not connect.

Yeah, but if it was a systemic problem I'd expect everyone to have issues though, not just a couple of people.  For example, some people might not know how to run Tor and think the dev is to blame for that for some reason its just that they aren't aware of how to run things the right way.
Possibly. But the Electrum Wallet is supposed to work without Tor (according to some posts I have read) and actually did that (I received my first payment) but then just stopped working saying it could not connect (while it could before). It was the same time when the others popped up having the same issue. Me (and some of the others) using the Tor Android Wallet did not help. A couple minutes ago it briefly worked again and I was able to send the coins in that Wallet to my Coinomi Wallet. Then it stopped working once again. I was still waiting for my second payment to the Tor Wallet though and I believe I am using it correctly yet it says there is no connection and I have not received any coins yet even though I can see it on the Blockchain connected to that Wallet address.
To sum it up: Since the Electrum Verge Wallet worked without Tor (and is supposed to) AND the Electrum Android Wallet as well as the Verge Tor Android Wallet keep having connection problems not just for me but also several others it looked (and still looks) like there is a problem on the Verge (server connection) side.

whats the exact problem you are experiencing? i guess some people didnt get the message that we were scaling up our electrum servers i suppose. the core wallets and electrum wallets are running fine. also, the tor android has not had any issues at all. if you get the "not connected" message, then that just means you didnt read the note for users who have samsung phones/custom android OS. samsung and some other phone manufacturers run processes that essentially block tor. you can find the instructions on the google play page for it, but if thats too much work, just open orbot, top left menu, and select "app VPN mode" (for everything listed)

stay tuned, the OSX electrum for tor and clearnet are being released shortly after we finish testing, and we're also making some new updates to the electrum server code as well =]

cheers
Tried everything. Tried the Windows Electrum and Android Wallet. Tried the TOR Android Wallet. Neither gets connected at all Some people have not been connected for a week! I at least have been connected 3 days ago but then it just wouldn't reconnect again. The coins did not show up in the wallet anymore although I could see them sent correctly to the wallet on the Blockchain.
Same with the Android Tor Wallet: After those problems I had my pool send the money to the new wallet. Again: The coins can be seen on the Blockchain but the wallet keeps saying "Not connected" and "No coins received yet" for 2 straight days now. Those coins seem to be in limbo.
