What's ZenCash team point of view on the new Antminer Z9 mini Equihash miner (10,000 Sol/s  @  300w for 1,999 USD )

Hmm Guys, do we have a problem?

Equihash miner is here.
https://shop.bitmain.com/product/detail?pid=00020180503154806494uGcSyiu806FD

This thing produces the same hashpower as 13 x 1080 Ti, however it uses only 300W.  This is game changer.

A clear answer/promise would be great at this time.

The nvidia should yield 6.75 € a day according to whattomine, which corresponds to 0.91%.
The AMD should yield 3.42 € a day according to whattomine, which corresponds to 1.07%.
That makes the AMD 18% more profitable.

You considered one factor and left many others...
After ROI, you will use more power , more space and half the profit. Think about it  Wink

Watchdog = Disabled.
task.conf = false.
client = 3.4.1

Still the client will restart and restart the miner randomly, i guess it thinks it lost internet connection.
Client restart every 5 minutes.

Is there a way to disable any type of restart.

I will release an update within 14 hour.

* Fixed

https://github.com/coinscrow/minerstat-windows/releases/tag/3.4.2

Confirmed, it is fixed, no restart for the past 3 hours.
Thanks a lot.

Just started using minerstat for all of my 15 rigs, good work you have put into this.

Request : a BTG (bitcoin gold) profile for ewbf would be greate, to switch between zec/btg on the fly.

what do you think save configs into "profiles", select config for that miner, load and save.

multitype config profiles to easily switch between coins?

now just paste or change anything you can set to all worker or to a worker group.

Re: 4x GTX 1080 Ti vs 6x GTX 1070
by

Why not go with 7x 1070's since it's equal to the price of 4x 1080ti yet you will get more hash in zec and almost 50% more eth.
Or your mobo does not support 7 gpu's ?

                ZEC    #Cards     Total
1080 Ti      740        4         2960
1070          450        7        3150

                 Eth    #Cards     Total
1080 Ti       34          4         136
1070           30          7        210

i just like the Ti for no good reason, maybe because the rig is smaller and takes less space.

Good Luck.

Try to exclude GPU 0 from within the mining software, maybe it will help.

Installing 7x cards directly in PCI-E on an X99 motherboard is not an issue at all even if the card has one power plug.

I have 7x 1070 Strix directly installed on PCI-E slots on an X99 motherboard, all good.

Great review, keep us updated !

How is that possible?  Aren't those cards double-wides?

Watercooled/Chopped-off DVI ports

Awesome! Picture, please!

Out of respect to philipma1957 and his efforts to share great information with us, i would rather avoid deviating from the main subject of this thread. [Review of Galax 1070 Katana GPU]
I'll just share info which is needed for this thread.
7x 1070's can in fact be plugged directly into a X99 (one's with 7 PCI-E slots) and it will work.      http://i.imgur.com/0Wzr621.jpg

In the Katan case, it even can be done without modifying the card. Now, the compatibility question has been answered, the new question is heat.

Re: Best GPU's to mine ZCASH with?
by

well i plan to build a 6x (or 7x gpu if possible - but i think its not with nvidia?) mining rig with gtx 1080 ti cards. if you can recommend me a motherboard, psu and cpu for it, it would be awesome.

thanks in advance

These motherboards go out of stock pretty quickly, so grab one now if you're sure you want to build a rig.

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138436&cm_re=biostar_tb85-_-13-138-436-_-Product

If you want to do 6 GTX 1080 Ti with a single PSU you need this or something with the same specs and connectors.

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438033&cm_re=evga_1600_watt-_-17-438-033-_-Product

Any socket 1150 Intel CPU will work for mining, even the cheapest Celeron. If you want to use the rig for office work, web browsing, streaming video/music while it mines then I suggest an i3 from that generation.

https://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=-1&IsNodeId=1&Description=lga%201150%20cpu&bop=And&Order=PRICE&PageSize=36

Would the (240v)2400w delta power supply from Paralellminer be a cheaper alternative to the 1600w EVGA for a 6 card 1080ti setup??

When having a rig that need huge amount of power, i have learned the hard way that is kind of better to go with 2 power supplies.
It's cheaper and when one goes bad you "limp" away with half a rig and still make money till you fix it instead of totally blacking out.
It's also usually cheaper in total price.
It's easy and 100% safe when done right (i use add2psu to connect 2)

Good luck.

It's not about PCI lanes, the same X99 WS motherboard which runs 7x 1070 or 7x 1080 Ti's will not run 3 Duo's unless you use the newer AMD drivers which reduce the mining speed by half.

You will not be able to run more than 2 cards, lots driver issues.
Hope you can figure it out, i gave up and ended using 2 cards per rig.

From an owner of 5 Pro Duo's, here is a heads up of what you will face  :

Windows 10
The recommended mining driver 16.3.2     = Maximum 2 Cards, 3rd will BSOD.
The newer drivers which allow 3 cards     = Miner will mine at half speed.

Linux
simpleminingOS : after fiddling , got 3 cards running with no fan control or temps display what so ever, card were almost fried as there was no fan control. its resolved (sometimes) by using on-board vga and main display.
EthOS             : 3 cards will show but only 5 gpu's out of 6 will mine.

I asked Claymore and  EthOS Support, all agreed on one thing, this card have shitty drivers and they can't do anything from their side.
