Figured I'd also chime in with a GPU pic for the hell of it. This is the majority of my ETH mining setup. I have another 9 GPUs mining not pictured here.

Top rig is 7 cards on 1 motherboard, middle is 6 cards on 1 motherboard, and bottom is 7 cards on 1 motherboard. Each rig is running Win 8.1 64bit, with 1 Seasonic 750w ATX PSU per motherboard which powers all PC components + 2 GPUs per rig. The rest of the cards are all running off of 2 2000w server PSUs, and fed 240v through a 30A PDU which is mounted to the rack. That means I only have 1 10AWG cable and 1 ethernet cable connected to the setup, allowing it to be moved around easily when needed.

Sorry for the potato quality picture. If there's any interest, I'll go take a picture of it with a proper camera.

Edit: Ohhhh, look at me! Looks like I'm legendary now! *cracks a Heineken*
Its looking pretty good Smiley
The powerbill have to suck though ? I once ran around 60 x 280x cards during my Darkcoin mining operation, and that was a long time before leaked bins and shit. Never doing anything crazy like that again without free electricity. Right now i run 14x750Ti and 2x980 cards at my home and they pull around 1250w from the wall.

Anyway, now i get really nostalgic.
Here are some old builds of mine:

This is the stupidest setup I've seen in a while Tongue
Not sure what you base your opinion on.
What is it not to like ? Oldschool mining.

Are u guys retarder Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy LOL
This is the stupidest setup I've seen in a while Tongue

It's actually very clean as far as a GPU setup.  I like the look of it.  Only part is it does  appear to be a little expensive on some of the special cases and such used.

It's nice in my eyes to see these sometimes.  Brings me back to a earlier day Smiley before asics.
Thanks.
All frames and systems are reused parts from my AMD DRK X11 mining operation back in the days. What changed is that now it is only Nvidia gpu:s running in it.
Everything except gpu:s roi:d a long time ago.

Memories...

Looks cleaner than anything I've ever set up. I wish I had some pics of the old rats nests I used to run. They were cool and worked fine but made from parts that were cheap as hell and the wires went in every direction. I never understood how people could spend so much time and money building perfect looking custom cases, but more power to them!  Cheesy
I like it clean Smiley And it keeps the wife calm lol

I love this so much and I wish I have access to some lake where I could use this thing Cheesy

You ship only to Sweden or it could be shipped to other EU countries too?
It really is a crazy build Smiley

I guess it could be shipped pretty much anywhere within Europe.
We could work something out if you are interested.

⭐ Merited by hugeblack (2)

Pictures available at: https://bastuflottenet.wordpress.com/2019/09/17/till-salu/?preview=true

This floating sauna is built between May - September 2019 and everything is brand new and ready to use.

Total flotation: 4000 kg distributed on 20 separate floating elements, each of which is suspended in stainless steel straps and locked in each compartment of framework. This is guaranteed to be the safest and most environmentally friendly solution on the market. We have used this type of construction in a similar building that has been in the water all year round for the past eight years without any problems. The entire building is built according to current building standards, roofs / walls are insulated. The sauna fleet is built to be legally transported on Swedish roads without accompanying vehicles etc. The fleet consists of 3 sections which are bolted together with through threaded rods / bolt + bolted wooden joists in front and aft before lifting in the raft in the lake. The middle section is 260cm wide and the outer sections measure 120cm each. In this way, the entire fleet can be transported in two car trailers. Transport can be arranged at an agreed fee.

The raft measures 5x5meters. The Sauna is 5.2 square meters and the dressing/relax room is 3.9 square meters. Up to 10 people can use the raft at the same time without having to crowd.

The floating sauna have the following equipment:

180w solar cell on the roof.

Prevent MPPT controller with real-time display showing real-time data such as how much volts / amperes the solar cell supplies, battery voltage, amps, temperature, etc.

Display showing total real-time consumption of volts, watts, amps and consumed watt hours.

Two 100Ah 12v marine batteries fitted in battery boxes.

Electrical system drawn in plastic pipelines. Connecting terminals are available both up under the ceiling and down under the bench in the dressing room for connection of additional equipment.

Control panel for all lighting that is fused with automatic fuses.

Stereo: Rockford Fosgate PMX-2, plays LOUD if desired. Bluetooth to stream music from phone etc. Antenna is installed for radio listening.

4 x speakers (2 x site-built marine speakers in the sauna, 2 x three-way speakers on the sun deck)

4G modem / router (optional SIM card you can plug in yourself)

2 x Security cameras with alarm function that shows / records video in full HD. You can also choose to get notifications in your phone if something moves in any part of the camera's field of view. Night vision, etc. Possibility of two-way communication through the cameras as they have microphone and speakers. The alarm siren that can be activated either manually or with a motion set alarm. Free application that saves video in the cloud.

10.1 ″ Android tablet with positioning / navigation software. Since there is wifi on board, you can also stream TV/Netflix or whatever. The sound is streamed via bluetooth to the stereo on board. 1 x adjustable wall mount and 1 x adjustable wall mount on sun deck. The unit can also show video from the cameras on board if you wish. The front camera is advantageously used to easily operate the raft alone. USB outlets is installed near both wall mounts to be able to charge the tablet while it is being used. It is possible to stop in a sim card for telephony.

20 x LED spotlights (4 in the sauna, 2 in changing rooms, 14 outdoors)

lanterns

5 USB outlets outdoors for charging phones or other electronic equipment. These outlets are activated via switches indoors to avoid unauthorized use of the outlets.

3 x USB sockets in changing room.

1 x 12v outlet in changing room.

Coffee maker.

48 liter refrigerator.

5 x windows covered with solar film (safety glass).

Sauna panel material is spruce, benches are made of aspen.

Harvia M2 sauna heater.

Stainless smoke pipe

Sauna thermometer, sauna stove and scoop.

Exclusive sauna door in glass.

Inspection hatch up under the ceiling from the dressing room where the electrical system can also be accessed.

Insulated front door with windows and equipped with ASSA lock (3 keys included)

Lounge group out on deck.

2 folding sun chairs.

Yup its only optional to power three. If you have a PSU that can power all your cards than you just have to use one and you are good to go.  You can power the second or third at your discretion for more power if needed. Otherwise power up one and mine away!
Great.

Thanks !

Asus B250 Question
by
Cryptozillah
on 26/01/2018, 07:57:31 UTC
I am planning some new builds.

I am thinking about using the Asus B250 mobo since the removal of GPU limit with the update for Win 10.

I have a question though and i hope that some prople here are using this mobo.

I am going to use server psu:s only in this build. The Asus B250 requires 3x24 pin connectors. Can i use three of these ?
https://www.parallelminer.com/product/180watt-max-24pin-atx-power-module-included-sata-molex-cpu-power-connectors-ditch-your-atx-power-supply-entirely/

I am using powered USB risers but will 3x180w max be enough for the motherboards ?
I guess that most power for the gpu:s will be pulled from the power connectors and risers anyway ?

I am now trying to reinstall the bitcoin chrome app but i just cant find it in the uninstall program feature in windows. I see my other wallet apps there but not the bitcoin app.

The bitcoin wallet app by ledger is a chrome app and therefore can only be installed/uninstalled via chrome.
You have to open chrome and type chrome://apps into the URL bar. You will be able to open/uninstall the app from there.

Are all of your applications (ledger manager, bitcoin chrome app, nano s firmware) all up to date?

Ledger manager should be >= 1.0.3
Bitcoin chrome app should be >= 1.9.13
Nano s firmware should be >= 1.3.1

Thanks.

I now have the latest version of the Bitcoin chrome app. The problem is still there.
I get the same error message.

All other stuff are up to date.

I am getting frustrated :/

I have problems trying to send BTG from my Ledger Nano S.
I get this error message: "SENDING FAILED An error occured. Please try again later."

I have tried to reinstall the BTG app on my Ledger without any progress.

It feels like i tried pretty much everything right now.
I can recieve BTG without problems.

Anyone have any advice what to do to get going ?

I never try to send/receive BTG from my Ledger Nano S and did not even claim that coin, but I see you are not only one who has this problem.Try to remove your BTG app from Ledger(device) and from Chrome app,but before that try to reset Bitcoin Chrome App by going to :  tools > reset application data.

I also see that problem may be in fees, some say that using "max" option to send is work for them, but you should also try to play with fees and set them manually. As I see BTG have very low fees: https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/bitcoin%20gold-transactionfees.html
I am have already tried to reinstall the BTG app on the ledger + reset application data with no luck.
I am now trying to reinstall the bitcoin chrome app but i just cant find it in the uninstall program feature in windows. I see my other wallet apps there but not the bitcoin app.

When i search for ledger wallets i see my other wallets, large 200+ mb files but nothing like that for the bitcoin wallet, just shortcuts etc.

Something is messed up. I am on vacation right now so i cant use another computer then my laptop.

I just finished this budget build for my father.
He will use them to heat up their glassed in balcony during the winter.

2 x Identical builds:

H81 Pro
Celeron G1820
8Gb ram
Powered USB risers
Corsair RM 850
30Gb SSD
6 x MSI GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB Gaming
Alu frames originally built for five gpu:s (flipped psu around and used zip ties for mounting)

They are both hashing Equihash at the moment @ 2100-2200Khs pulling 850w from the wall.

All parts except the gpu:s are recycled from earlier builds.

Re: PSU for 1080ti
by
Cryptozillah
on 14/12/2017, 20:27:36 UTC
GTX 1080ti has a maximum power consumption (TDP) of 250 Watt. 6x250 = 1500 Watt. Better used 2x1000 Watt PSU, for keeping another part Of mining in good condition and for an along term mining process. for PSU can Corsair or EVGA.

250W is not a maximum of 1080Ti power consumption - it's typical TDP. The most overclocked models has 300W TDP. But with proper settings of 1080Ti your proposition is good enough. for 6x1080Ti 2kW PSU is neccessary safe minimum
I have never been anywhere near 250w on my 1080 Ti:s.
I am running five on a 1200w psu with some power to spare. (65% TDP)
I am sure i could run six cards if i tweaked it better. My psu can handle 1300w peak.

2kw is overkill imo if you dont have free electricity and live on the north pole.

it wouldn't pull 2kw unless you use 2kw
Ofcourse but i see no reason to run the cards at that high wattage unless you live under the conditions i mentioned.
1800w of heat from one rig alone is pretty much.
