Re: c# get sender address from RPC api

This is a dangerous way to do things.  There isn't really a "sender address".  There are just previous outputs that are used as inputs.

Additionally, people using online wallets, such as Mt.Gox, do not necessarily get credited for transactions that go back to the "sender address".

A buy order on Mt.Gox would take the price up to $969.99, with an average price of $954.17.  Therefore, it would cost $954,178.

However, the OP is offering 0.99*$918.7 = $909.51. Or, $909,510 for all of his coins.

Assuming you could get the money out of Mt. Gox, it would only cost you just under $45k.

on 24/11/2013, 22:32:58 UTC
I am selling 14 new MCM 7 Port hubs.

I am asking $17 each.  I have used 5 Block Errupters with them, but they should be able to support 7.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Just an observation with regards to the pusher feed, it looks like it has changed since I last looked at it a few weeks ago, it appears the depth info has been modified.

Before we had:
data.amount_sum
data.amount

For each order update. I assume that amount_sum showed the total amount of volume at that depth, and the amount was what the last change was. Now the data.amount_sum part of each message has gone and we only have the amount.

a) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=38711.msg3454360#msg3454360

It also appears the bitstamp home page is no longer updating the live orders. I'd be interested if anyone else has any idea what the data.amount currently stands for, it is the change at that price, or the new sum at that price? Smiley

b) You are about to embark on a long, frustrating journey, my friend.

data.amount appears to be the CHANGE.  I agree that data.amount_sum would be nice.

I am subscribing to channel "live_orders".  Does anybody have any better suggestions?

1 BTC - Cleanup 3 minute engagement video
by
DBordello
on 28/09/2013, 14:53:21 UTC
I proposed to my girlfriend during a firework show.  Although we capture some great pictures, the video did not turn out well.  Because of the low light, the frame rate is really low, the video is grainy, and is generally a mess.

I am not entirely sure what is possible, but I would like to have it cleaned up in to a presentable state.  If this is something you are interested in, I will send you the video to get your opinion on what can be done.

Thanks,
Dan

A quick update on the MCM hub.  It appears to support 6 miners.  The 7th port is not usable due to physical constraints.  However, it was able to power 6 miners + a fan.

Thanks!

I doubt if the ones from your local store have the 3.5A PSU.  For that price, I'm almost sure they come with the inferior 400mA or similar PSU as sold on the Bay.  Have you verified it?  If they do indeed have the 3.5A AC adapter, I sure would like to buy a bunch of them from your local store.  Even with a 2.5A adapter, they'd still be dirt cheap.  Where's your locality, BTW?

I only populated the front ports because I have exactly 35 miners (i.e. 7 x 5 = 35) in hand.  I'll have more BEs coming in tomorrow.

I have personally confirmed that they have the 3.5A PSU (I have 4 in hand).  This is from my campus electronics supply store.

Are you able to fit miners in the back ports?  Have you tried mining with all 7?  Also, how do you have the hubs connected (daisy chain or hub-spoke)?

Great setup once again.

A work in progress:

These are the 7-port hubs from MCM.  As you may have already noticed, these are just the generic hubs from China that's all over the Bay and sold dirt cheap albeit with less capable AC adapters. All MCM did was couple the hubs with better power units and marketed them.  I could have done better and further reduced the per port cost if I had put them together myself but I was in a jam as I was expecting more miners to arrive in a couple of days and I only have so much USB ports on my rigs.  I had to pony up for a 2-day shipping and for the applicable sales tax though which added a little to the per port cost but it's OK because I already ROI'd those extra expenses.  Smiley

MCM's site specified that the AC adapters are 5V 2.5A.  I then called tech support to verify the specs.  The gentleman literally called their warehouse while putting me on hold and came back on with the good news that it is in fact, a 5V 3.5A.  Here's a confirmation:

It supports seven miners with no issues; tested it for a few hours.  With all seven BEs hashing, the power units get very warm (an optimistically good indication that the internal heatsinks are doing their job of dissipating heat through the case) but one could still touch them for the longest time and not experience any burning discomfort.

The seven BEs registered 21W AC off the wall on a Kill-A-Watt while mining (100% load or thereabouts).  That's 3W AC for each miner.  Based on the BE's specified rating of 2.5W DC, that puts the AC adapters' efficiency at around 83% at 100% load; at 50% load (peak) it would probably be at least 85% efficient.  That's impressive for a wall wart.  If I'm not mistaken, this falls within the 80 Plus Bronze category.

I'm expecting a few more miners coming in on Monday and I intend to max them out and populate the two rear ports on each of them.  Here they are in action:

http://s1330.photobucket.com/user/visdude/media/MVI_0076_zps911be64e.mp4.html

Excellent post.  This is exactly the same plan I have.  I recently bought 4 of the MCM hubs, and confirm they have 3.5A power supplies.  My local electronics store has them for ~$7 each.

Two of the ports are in the back, in the opposite orientation.  Is there enough room to use those ports as well?  Are you actually able to get 7 miners on each hub?  In your picture it appears you are only using the front ports.

Nice setup.

how do you chain them together? do you have 10 ports feeding into a 10 port hub? i've run into wierd problems with some miners randomly not launching when chaining hubs
have you cut the RED wire in the USB cable..?

I'm not sure how your hubs work, but when the hubs are powered through the power supply there's no need for the RED wire in the USB cable.

If it's not cut then you'll get one hub powering the other via the RED wire.
you can test this 'power-backing' theory by plugging one hub without the power supply plugged in, into a hub which has the power supply plugged in and then plug one usb erupter in the hub without the power supply and you'll probably see it power up.  It's safer to cut the RED wire, because if a power supply fails then only erupters in that hub go down.  Otherwise more will go down as more power supplies get overloaded.

If you're not sure about what I'm talking about, reply and I'll try and take a couple pics of what I did to my cables.

Is what your saying if the red wire is not cut and you lose one power adaptor on a hub that  it will then want to overload the next hub's power adaptor and make it blow as well.

I have a 5v 40a power supply coming, have my 5.5mm power plugs and more of the cheap 10 port hubs (like in the picture above) coming and plan on powering to start four 10 port hubs with the ability to add another four in the future.

Would you mind posting links to the hubs, DC power plug and power supply?

I am thinking of grabbing a bunch of these:

http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/DISTRIBUTED-BY-MCM-CK-0027G-/83-11765

They are available from a local store for $6.75, and have a 3.5A power supply ( I physically looked in the box).  Due to the configuration, I only think 6 ports would be usable though.  However, that is pushing $1/port!

I wouldn't get my hopes up with that one. They are all over ebay for cheap. I have seen specs on it stating 1Amp total. Also, the specs at your link don't compute. 2.5Amp cannot provide 500mA to 7 ports.

I guess for $6.75 it wouldn't hurt to give it a try though-maybe your comes with a different AC adapter.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/161054576343

http://www.ebay.com/itm/160691080418

Output: DC 5V 1000mA
Plug standard: US/UK/EU (choose the suitable adapter as you like)
Operation Systems: Windows Vista, Windows XP, ME, 2000, 98, Linux 9 and Mac OS 10.2 or above
Working humidity: 10% - 90%
Working voltage: 5V
Working current: 500mA

The one sold by my local retailer have a power supply that states 3.5A.  Hopefully that is accurate.

Yeah, this only powers 2 miners! I have one and hate it. I hope you did not buy any of these yet.

What size power supply came with it?

Do we believe that the power supply may not meet its specifications?

I have tried and using [ Monoprice 12-port USB 2.0 Hub w/3.5A AC Adapter ] in my setup I'm running 7 block erupters on it nicely and due to the nice round shape there is plenty of breathing room between all of the erupters for heat dissipation.

That is great to hear.  Do you have it running on a RPi?

Updated on my hubs

I now have 3 hubs operational with 23 miners in total, 18 on my PC, 5 on my RasPi.

Power consumption of Raspi + hubs + miners + PSU less what is being leeched from the PC is 40W (or so my Watt Meter tells me, but I don't consider it that accurate...)

Hubs US$9.50 each (DX Bulk price FTW)
PSU US $34 (not from DX, sourced
DC plugs and cable US$5
Not burning my fingers soldering US$priceless

Once I have four hubs going, that's a total of $77 for 36 ports, or $2.14 per port - though I am tempted to limit the total used to ~32 to not stress the PSU (17A including the RasPi, out of 20A max), so maybe $2.41 per port.

Improvements to make - ~6A polyswitches for each hub (10 for $4 on ebay...)(the hubs have no over-current protection!), convert some more of my 30cm USB extension cables to power isolation cables, power the RasPi directly from the PSU, not from a hub.

Pics:
Hubs, Duct, PSU, RasPI.  The black power brick is providing the 12V for the Fans.  The PSU is now running very warm to the touch (still far cooler that an USB Erupter) with the extra 5 miners and RasPi.  Is was only warm before add that extra load.

miners all cosy in the duct.

Would you mind providing more information on the DC barrel plugs and where you got them?

[0.25 BTC] Need portrait retouched

I recently had a headshot taken at a miserable portrait studio.  I would like to have it retouched to remove blemishes, etc.  I will be using this picture as my default professional headshot in many places.  Therefore, I want it to be cleaned up the best possible.

Please let me know if you are interested.  Unfortuatenly, I have a short timeline and need this turned around by tomorrow.

Thanks,

Generations of Hope has used BitPay to start accepting Bitcoins: http://www.generationsofhope.org/donate/

Let me know if I can provide any more information.  I am sure they would be excited to see some actual Bitcoin donations.

Dan

How did they come to accept it?

I think all of the press about Bitcoin during the rally pushed them over the edge.  The Director heard several pieces on Bitcoin on NPR.

They used BitPay for the implementation, and put a big logo on the Donate page.  As with most nonprofits, you can get to the donate page from almost anywhere on the site.

Now, hopefully it pays off for them Wink
