I want to create a raw transaction

If the lock time is not 00 00 00 00
should I write it as big endian or little endian ?

I always use little endian format for locktime coding in my raw transactions. haven't you tested it for your case??

Re: Bitcoin for Forum Posts: Want to Hire a Developer
by
Darkblock
on 26/04/2015, 08:50:25 UTC
I run a MyBB based discussion forum and I want to give users additional incentive to post and discuss within our forum. Bitcoin and cryptocurrency as a whole seems to fit this model perfectly as it allows us to give users very small increments of a dollar. Frankly I lack the technical skills to develop something of this sort and I would like to try and have it as airtight as possible in regards to not running the risk of theft. I am looking to hire someone for this project and they will be free to distribute/sell their software once it is installed on my forum, there is no exclusivity agreement.

To prevent spambots and spam abuse there will be limits [which will have the option to be configured in the ACP or file config] to how much people can earn in a day. So here is an example:

User Post Requirement: 25 Posts [Number of posts required to earn points.]
Daily Post Limit: 10 Posts [Number of posts a user can earn credit for daily.]
Bitcoin Reward Amount: .0001 [Just as it says on the can.]

I'm thinking that maybe storing a fictional amount of Bitcoin/points and then when a user initiates a withdraw [.01 minimum] I receive a PM with their requested withdraw address and I send out to Bitcoin manually.

Interest in helping out with this project, input on methods and usability, or just general comments welcome.

I am not sure what you exactly need. So you basically want an "add-on" for your myBB forum to be able to reward authors? Can you maybe tell us a little bit more about your forum? What is it about? Can you share the URL?

In short: Fiat-Money is a scam. Its probably the biggest scam ever. Or was that the gold-market? well not sure, but i am sure anything related to financial institutions and banks can be generally marked as "legal fraud".

Hello im a noob, I have downloaded Bitcoin-qt wallet and bootstrap.dat torrent. I have placed bootstrap.dat in %appdata$/Bitcoin. The wallet doesnt recognize the file.. what do ?

hey johny, i advice you to let the client sync the blockchain by itself.. boosting the process isn't always a good option if you used unverified sources for the download of blockchain-data. bootstrap.dat btw allows your client to sync the initial blocks much faster (because from local storage...). but again, i prefer downloading the chain from the network and trusted random nodes.

Re: Extracting the Private Key from a TREZOR ... with a 70 $ Oscilloscope
by
Darkblock
on 17/04/2015, 13:12:58 UTC
It took me a while to realize that gmaxwell was talking about secretly recording the audio interference from a nearby compromized computer which would then be retrieved and decoded by the attacker at a later time.
Actually, from the computer the Trezor is connected to itself (after all, the point of the Tezor is the assumption the host computer is compromised); nearby would be an even more impressive stunt--  in terms of nearby but not connected; that would better be done with a software defined radio receiver (e.g. not merely a remote compromise).

All of that is a long shot, but thats the annoyance about defense; you have to defend against all attackers, and an attacker may spend a lot of time and resources on a single valuable target.  It's quite hard to be confident that you do not have an exploitable weakness. If you're sure you're secure you're probably not being creative enough.

wooow. crazy shit. reminds me of the hollywood movie "eagle eye". But not long ago i ve read an article about some scientists from Tel Aviv University who were able to extract RSA keys from the "noise" of a CPU!!! So the above scenario, where a nearby computer "attacks" a victim within his noise-recognition area by "listening to its processor", should be practically possible. maybe we should start adding noise protection measures to our computers and trezors... LOL

That's what makes this much harder, we are not looking for a string, we are looking for a (random) number.

Given the length and complexity of the previous puzzle, do you think this one would be so simple?

You're probably not looking for a private key. You're probably looking for the IP of a minecraft server - or ANYTHING else... Smiley

I agree. i think this one is harder or at least as hard as the last puzzle. I am still trying to get the connections as i think all elements of the picture have their meaning and are parts of the final-solution. We 'll see how long it takes to get solved..

The following infographic can explain more about it:
- snip -

Your infographic has several incorrect "facts".

Additionally, it has some "statistics" that are likely to be misleading.

i really don't understand why people are posting that stuff [err infographics]. Its neither clarifying anything nor helping the OP to get his btc back or giving him an idea of how to secure his enviroment for future btc-traffic/handling . I just can repeat myself again and again: Your BTCs are as safe as your computer is. Means: Your wallet is an open safe as long as your computer isn't secured properly.

lets put this "diplomatic expression stlye" aside and become "lil bit" straighter:

short form: "That infographic is sh**y and overloading this thread because its containing incorrect "facts" (for example mtgox hack alone was +500m in 2014-exrate) as well as being short of +50%..." delete that mess. i think OP s got enough sh** around atm. and might also have too much sh** in his head. read the rest of this post to understand what i actually mean.

-------- -------- -------- -------- -------- -------- -------- -------- -------- -------- -------- -------- -------- --------
@OP: just read your below post.

Mate i am Muslim just to let you know, i don't watch porn let alone download it. So your sense of humour is wrong in here, although i like humour very much.

[snip]

The Middle East already has the world's most popular porn star — 21-year-old Mia Khalifa from Lebanon.

[snip]

Just wanted to say i am not from any of these countries ,lol, i am from Albania, i know a lot of my co citizens watch porn, but i really don't.  If i will do i have kept the list site which not to visit from your post.

And honestly if that Khalifa something you re talking, i hope someone cut her head off , i mean it really, shame of the Muslims if she is who you says.

Are you serious? So you want someone to cut her head off?? Or put it like that: You HOPE someone does it??

something else. I haven't found any BTC key or so in your first post. Can you please post the btc-key which you claim your coins "got stolen" from?

OP you re right. We are enslaved by it. Our economy, society and politic is designed to make the avg. joe always to strive for more and more (money)... for a handfull of people money is just a means to an end.. just digital(virtual) numbers.. Something non-existent in "reality"... But its too late now to change it... We can have interesting discussions and brainwaves, and the so called "aha-effect".. many of us might check whats happening behind the curtains.. But we won't ever be able to change anything... They control to much now. FED, EZB, the house of sauds, and the other mighty six.... They knew how to make it... sad truth. They placed the foundation stone to the world we are living in today... we are all just small gear wheels in a complex system. And they ARE the system......

Things are not this bleak (or at least I hope!)  There are multiple ways this system can break down.  The system is inherently unstable, due to the incentives for the elites to maximize the issue of money and debt.

When it does break down, like a poker player in a large pot holding cards not good enough for the pot, the authorities can choose to bet big and hope others will fold, or fold.  Betting means eventually using political repression to supplement the financial repression, and has its problems in established democracies.  Folding means, probably, pegging currency to gold at a very high price (since gold is what central banks have.)  They would have suffered humiliation but they would at least keep their power and get their stability back.

Another potential problem of betting is that the world is getting more multi-polar compared to the Anglo-American centuries.  Will the rising powers continue to submit to the old system?  Henry Kissinger is supposed to have just written a "pessimistic" book on this topic.

As soon as the "financial system" breaks down, which would actually break (you/me) the citiciens of the world down and not the "power-holding organizations", we ll face horrific scenarios... It would actually be one of "their goals" and it would rise their power. Democrazy isn't what we think/hope it might be. Did you know: The global financial institutions and exchanges are trading more gold than the world holds in reserves.... ?? So virtually theres more gold in existence than in realities existence... "funny" enough. as i said: Sad truth.

Re: Palestine & israel? What do you think about that situation?
by
Darkblock
on 09/04/2015, 15:17:58 UTC
Israel and Palestine. Long long lost cousins that started as enemies thousands of years ago and then become neighbours. Eventually some left and some stayed. then the world was in a great turmoil and many decided to go back and settle. Greedy men on both sides wanted more and more power, Blood was shed, and it still is. The people are okay with eachother. Governments are not and will never be. Until then. Blood will still flow there.

I hope your words are wrong but it seems that is what will happen between Palestine and Israel. No one want to resolve their internal conflic, also the UN.

US indirectly controls UN. So when it comes about UN and few other things, I think Israel is being helped by US. Any comments on this?

You can find something from this search: https://www.google.com/search?q=israel+helped+by+US

agreee. And ISR controls US. So the hierarchy of worldcontrol should be clear. NOBODY will EVER do/say something against ISR, as it would be either interpreted as antisemitic or as "against the goals of the global community"....

By the way Blackarrow is deleting all post in their thread who point out their item is just a trezor clone and shouldn't be bought.

i ve lost a stash of coins with BA, and i d never order from them again. espscially not an hardware wallet. I don't want to suspect them anything, but i just say that they haven't been serious in the past so i doubt that they are serious now. And business which involves BTC should be taken damn-serious.

@OP: thanks for the great overview. I d like to see the info Muhammed Zakir suggested you to add. If the wallets are open-source or proprietary-source. And you may add a warning to the BA e-Wallet until its properly checked and audited...

why people still store on online wallet, is behind me, my advice:

buy a old laptop, and leave your wallet there, use that laptop just for that nothing else, like if it was your bank

a hw-wallet like trezor or any similar one is the best solution i think.. This would also remove the risk of malware, keyloggers, etc. And might even be cheaper than an old laptop.

i recommend the Trezor "wallet" from slushs company satoshilabs.com. (www.buytrezor.com) - heres an interesting review: http://www.coindesk.com/review-bitcoin-vault-trezor-lives-name/

heres a nice overview on all the hardware-wallets for btc:

just saw kncminer delivering within europe which would be optimal as i am also living in europe. Are they still producing hardware? i checked their website but just noticed they re producing 16nm chips and got investment from Accel Partners (15m$). So whats going on exactly? I can't see any webshop or anything. Is it still possible to purchase (profitable) mining-hardware within europe? Is it even possible to make a RoI within a decent timeframe? any help/info is appreciated.

KNCminer is done selling hardware... until they are done with it on the cloud selling contracts, and they are obsolete.
don't bother mate... people work too hard for money these days.
You may end up seeing some old neptunes after all the solar 16's have been deployed; but seriously....the train left the station over a year ago.

yeah i guess its too late to join mining.. though it would ve been great to make this experience.. so i guess in 1-2 years we won't see the avg. tech guy mining btc as the big companies with their huge mining-farms took this over.. well gotta invest my money straight into BTC..

Re: ISIS destroys Syrian Church on Easter Sunday
by
Darkblock
on 06/04/2015, 10:52:09 UTC
ISIS insurgents blew up an 80-year-old church in Syria's northeastern province of Hassaka on Easter Sunday, Syrian state news agency SANA said.

SANA, which did not report any casualties, said the militants had planted explosives inside the Church of the Virgin Mary in Tel Nasri, an Assyrian village in an area where Christian and Kurdish militia have been battling the self-proclaimed Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS).

ISIS controls the village, the news agency said on Monday. The militant group, which controls swathes of Syria and Iraq, espouses a fiercely terrorist ideology, deeming many Muslims to be heretics. Its fighters have destroyed Shi'ite and Sufi religious sites and also attacked churches.

More at: http://www.dailysabah.com/mideast/2015/04/06/isis-destroys-syrian-church-on-easter-sunday

This is a shame  Sad, I hope someone will stop their action.

yeah its a shame. Those who built them will also be those who r going to destroy them (ISIS). Isis is a bunch of psychopathic, sociopathic terrorists. They won't accept other religions, other culture and other "thinking". The sad truth is that there is NO dipomatic or human solution against those warlords. Only the way of massdestruction and violence can stop ISIS. Thats it. My feeling tells me that 2016 is going to be the year of ISIS fall.. Its just very sad that hundreds of thousands of civilians are going to die with them.
