Yeah, buy some it's ridiculously cheap, you can get BTCD for ~19K sats now ... amazing!

If I could buy BTCD at 19K satoshi I'd buy up everything I could. I think you forgot a zero as BTCD has been between 188K to 192K Sat lately...

yes, I made a typo ... I think we reached the bottom there anyway, BTCD going up nicely  now, slow & steady

Yeah slow and steady like bitcoin itself, it feels like value increases double when both btcd and btc rises, feels good man.

I understand, but slack is the place where it happens...not BCT anymore

I agree BadAss.Sx!  Although, bitcointalk is where most newbs go first..... and where they then learn of slack, I think. Btctalk may be annoying, but I still think it's necessary to keep the communication going here Smiley

peace
clovis

Of course! And that is not a problem, but if you want more inside info, you better checkout Slack for it. It gives you more the look of the community then here on BCT.

Agree 100% mate! Slack is a must in crypto these days....if you want the goods, join slack.....period!!

Sorry something I missed, what is "Slack"?

Source is uploading... I'm a computer engineering student the coin was a project, figured I might as well throw it into the mix of things, I'd prefer more constructive criticism rather than flat out ignorant insults.

Im sure you can understand that this place has had its fair share of pump and dump coins, and coins bundled with viruses and the list goes on, so I can forgive these guys for being critical when you are the one that raises all the red flags, on purpose or not.

Re: Gambler's fallacy, does it exist?
by

It is the reason why people lose their money. Martingale does not work. The goat behind the door does not care about previous choices and chances are reset every time you take a gamble. Unless it is rigged.

Imagine there were 1000 doors and there are goats behind all but one, you now choose door 1, the host opens all the other doors but number 1 and number 267.

Would you go with door number 1 or door number 267?

Do you think the goat cares?
If youd like to get that car, you better change to door 267 as motherfucking fast as you can.

Do you really believe there is a 50% chance still?

The part that i'm confused about is the trust part since it looks like you don't do a recurring check to see if the public address still has funds with it. So, what prevents people from lying about what they have and earning against that?  Maybe I misunderstood.

I don't check that you have any funds other than those you deposited.

When the coins you deposited and invested are no longer sufficient to cover the loss you would incur if a max-profit bet was won, your "offsite investment" is immediately zeroed.

In other words, your offsite investment is used to increase the rate at which your onsite investment grows and shrinks, but you're never allowed to run up a negative balance.

As I understand it you are implementing optional kelly control. Isnt that just what you are doing?

Re: Who's brave/stupid enough to invest their life savings into Bitcoin?
by
Darwerft
on 06/11/2014, 04:14:11 UTC
There is a golden rule to live by: never invest what you cannot afford to lose.
FOLLOW IT.

This ^^ a million times over!

Let's say you are cannot afford to lose any of your savings so you don't invest anything then you have all your savings in fiat currency, investing in a currency that will lose its value over time
Your logic is flawed. The value of fiat savings actually generally will increase over time even though the principle will experience inflation as both investment returns and interest on bank savings generally will be greater then inflation.

No your logic is flawed. Having fiat is one type of investment where if state fails so does your fiat.
Investing in a bank is another type of risk. The reason you get the 1% from the bank is beause of the risk that the bank goes bankrupt is about 1% per year.

When you put money in a bank its a double investment as you will lose money if either the bank or the fiat loses value.

Fiat savings will get smaller purchase power with time as the state will print more money, this is money 101 really.

Re: Satoshi Nakamoto - 1,5 million Bitcoins - We need answers
by

on 05/11/2014, 22:08:10 UTC
I fail to see the problem here. Bitcoin was visible in plain open sight since day 1. 99% of us was just too stupid to see it and become an early adopter. Stupidity has a price, and now we have to buy coins at a much higher price. But, what else is new? In which way is this different from, say, shares in startups? Some people get a brilliant idea, work day and night for several years, then let their company go public. Sure, the founders have shitloads of shares and get rich. Is that a problem? Would you demand Sergey Brin to disclose what he plans to do with his money earned from selling Google shares? If so, go play somewhere else!

Visible yes, but in plainsight? No.

I am fairly convinced that had anyone EVER introduced me to this thing called bitcoin I would have been all over it.
Problem is there were no commercials there were people screeming "see this!"

Had I just been intriduced og seen an article or anything, but no satoshi and a few other people knew they had a goldmine so they werent in a hurry to tell people about it and I cant blame them, I would do the same.
As I see it they premined exactly to the point that we wouldnt mind too much.

The tought that satoshi could (If he wanted to) crash the price back to a few pennies per bitcoin makes me sick.
That to me dosnt sound like fair market.

I think if satoshi at this point wanted to strengthen the bitcoin community he should either destroy his million bitcoins or use them slowly for the good of bitcoin, but eitherway people will get very scared should his coins ever move.
It might just scare bitcoin to death.

I can trust the market to be fiar/Do-its-thing, but I cant trust a single man when I dont even know his real name.

I doubt it's the wallet, as a few friends use the android wallet as well with no issues. Only difference is, I'm getting PBMining payments and they are not.

I can tell you this is a real problem and it is a known problem with the bitcoin wallet on android.

Re: Haunted Hashlet Cloud Mining
by
Darwerft
on 28/10/2014, 21:49:41 UTC
I have no doubt they have a massive farm of both scrypt and sha mining. I'm talking more along the lines of their hashpoints which they can manipulate in any way shape or form and won't actually require anything beyond a single CPU to mine for everyone. They basically created a fiat coupon system on top of the fiat dollar and it goes against what anyone invested in crypto should be about.

Valuing certain "miners" or "shares" in hash power above other shares should also be a concern. The haunted hashlets, vegas hashlets, etc. It's like saying the first bitcoin that Satoshi mined is more valuable than the one that was just mined. It's all hype and ignorance. Yes, some people are going to make a lot of money doing this, but most people probably will not.

I would certainly pay more for the first 50 bitcoins than for the 50 bitcoins I may and may not have now.

That is not "of course".

Most sites only give positive commission.
Like you get 1% of their house edge on every bet regardless if they lose or win.

I have a long time between refs. too.
So whats gonna stop me from making new account for new referrals?
This will make it so that if my first ref. never plays again, I will not have to pay the negative balance first.

By making new account I can only win more, not lose.

So now I will make an new account for each ref, to make sure that I dont pay for winning refs.

Hi Darwerft,

Thanks for your message.

A few comments from us:
1. If you created a new account, you would not be credited with any commission on future play by your referral.
2. Our terms of service prevent multiple affiliate accounts so if you opened a new affiliate account, it would be closed.

My suggestion is to be patient and see how it goes Smiley

Cheers,
Cloudbet

Well now you are out right lying.

If I create a new account I will still be credited when my referral play.
And you tos does not prevent multi-account.

I can vouch for this information.

Cheers,
Darwerft

Sorry to butt in but it does say this.  I've looked before...

"5.1.9.3. Only one account per customer/IP/household is allowed. If you attempt and/or successfully open more than one account, all of your accounts may be blocked, suspended or closed and any bitcoin credited to your account frozen."

Sure the tos says so, but the tos is only words in a file.
I can promise you the tos does not prevent multi account. You can easily multi account.
Sure their site has a little protection like, same ip will get you banned but, it doesn't take a lot to cheat here.

I says this because I accidentally created a new account (Even on same ip)
And two days later, I still had both.

Their security is crap for multi account.

and their tos dos not prevent shit, only thing it does is warn about possible outcomes.

cheers

Re: PRCDice.eu + REFERRAL BONUS + provably fair + Leaderboards +INVEST + PLAY + CHAT
by

I browsed through the bets and rolls between those ID's, and none of them had the roll 70.6362 or a bet by Loidy.

That quite the allegation. Do you suspect foul play or further incompetent coding?

I happened upon the PRC dice chat earlier today only to find the usual suspects in there talking behind my back about how I shouldn't be trusted, that I'm "just a troll", senile, stupid, and idiot, etc. etc.

I tried engaging them, but it's almost impossible. They avoided almost all of my points and ended up muting me without reason.

I guess I won't attempt to engage them any more. Just be careful with PRCdice - their tech is crap and their manners are worse.

Poor Dooglus, you are scared by trolls now ?

Why are you all after dooglus?

What I can see he is the most trusted person in a not trustworthy bitcoin world.

Then when he points out some obvious problems in a bitcoin dice people act bad why?

I think dooglus ask some very legit questions that should be taken serously.

How long have prcdice existed?
Yeah that's right LONGER than even JD did, so I find it scary that they still havent got the freaking code to work, its not like its the most advanced site ever build.

The concept are actually quite simple.

This smells bad.
