Re: bitcoin $15000

Don't forget that while the price is maintaining stable in the last months, there are being many improvements in the ecosystem not only for bitcoin but for the crypto in general. Weak hands are less and less as time goes by, and many big players (institutional? whatever) are gaining interest in the crypto-sphere.

So who knows, I still hope for huge short term capital inflow to make us go XXx.

Re: How to buy copper membership?

Thanks to the original replier and the following posters.

Hi there,
There are a lot of complains about the new merit and rank rules. I fully support these changes and i am sure this will have a postive effect on the quality of the forum.

For the ones complaining there i a simple solution (next to deliver quality posts to get your so desired merit); just buy a copper membership.

It's very easy to do:
Go to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=credit;promote
You will see a short page with instructions.
You need to send 0.0020833btc to a bitcoin address.
After you have done this and the transaction has 1 confirmation you can refresh the page.
Select Copper Membership from the dropdown menu on the new page and you are done!

This will cost you a small amount of BTC and a couple of minutes. In return you will get:
Some of the same permissions as Member-rank members, such as reduced signature styling restrictions. (But none of the PM-related restrictions are currently lifted, such as the style limit or per-hour PM limit.)
Your "you must wait ____ seconds between ___" counter is reduced by 75%. So if you're naturally of Newbie rank, you only have to wait 360-75% = 90 seconds.
Under your name in the forum it will say  you have a copper membership.

I didn't know the benefits of being copper and, although it's not for me, I think it's great for newbies who want to navigate the forum in a more comfortable way, plus for the ones that want to make some money with their signatures.

Bitcoin Cash will have a hardfork on Nov 15th. This could be one of the reasons.
The other reason is surely the announcement by Binance regarding the fork:

“Binance would like to confirm support for the upcoming Bitcoin Cash hard fork. We will take a snapshot of all Bitcoin Cash balances at UNIX time 1542300000, 2018/11/15 4:40:00 PM (UTC). Deposits and withdrawals of Bitcoin Cash will be suspended starting from 2018/11/15 3:00:00 PM (UTC). “

Source: https://ambcrypto.com/bitcoin-cash-bch-takes-a-massive-hike-of-close-to-10-as-it-nears-the-hard-fork/

There is your news. It's being shilled on Twitter by different sources, and by bitcoin.com of course.

I expect it to dump back to BTC in the very short time, but who know, it's just my opinion.

I'm not sure this thread goes here but I can be wrong.

About the game, well, I think you're being too optimistic and it will be really hard to fulfil the promise, but we all know about the cryptokitties and the lands auctioned on Decentraland so I can expect anything already from the crypto-space Cheesy

Anyway, I'm not buying it...

The total cryptocurrencies market cap should rise to a new ATH of about 1 Trillion dollars for this prediction to make sense.

Although it is not impossible, it will be really hard to see such an increase in the prices in such a short time.

Anyway, don't forget that last year we made it from the point we're nowadays to the latest ATH in a matter of weeks, so never say never Wink.

Of course, coinmarketcap is the obligatory search for any cryptocurrency.

About new coins, I'm not really looking to them as there are so many great, already existing ones, so undervalued, that give me much more trust than most of the new projects around this last year, with a few airdropped exceptions.

Re: What can we do if a bounty manager did not pay the tokens as they promised?
by
Davil
on 01/11/2018, 15:17:59 UTC
Unfortunately this case is too frequent in the last year. I'm afraid that most of the times the only think you can do, if you're sure it's the manager's fault, who scammed the participants, is to give him negative trust and open a thread explaining your reasons.

In most of the cases, the members of the forum maintains their anonymity so it will be difficult for you to start legal actions against the shady managers, but you could try and depending on the jurisdictions they could end suffering the legal consequences of their actions.

I hope it helped. Let us know how the story ended. Cheers.

we are waiting 15000$ above by ending of the this 2017,

i think this guy deserve somes  voluntary Tips if you happy for this  speculation
In my opinion, this possibility is able to happen if Bitcoin rises quickly at the end of this month. On Christmas, Bitcoin will probably hit $ 15,000 soon. We expect situation.

I hope so too!! Just remember that last year we were more or less at the same price in late october, and in a few weeks we reached the $20k mark, so there is no reason why it couldn't happen again (another thing is whether it will happen or not, but it's proven to be possible).

Keep your hands strong!

Thanks for sharing, it would've been great if you made a little summary on the info you shared but anyway, everything counts.

To me there are many different reasons not listed there, let's see in the future if people in general understand the pros and if so let's see if it goes mainstream eventually  Wink

On the other hand, you only lose if you sell at a loss. Anyway, I agree with you that this bear market is being an experience for many of us, who entered the market in the bull run. If I got some beautiful money without suffering I could end being some sort of idiot who thinks that deserves it and take it for granted. Now I don't know if I'll get money back ever, but if I do I'll be proud of having suffered for it, and in any case I'll learn a valuable lesson.

Copy pasted from my site:

 Banking on Bitcoin
 Bitcoins in Argentina
 Bitcoins: Liberating Organic Farmers
Bitcoin in Uganda – Empowering People
Bitcoin: The End of Money As We Know It
Life Inside a Secret Chinese Bitcoin Mine
The Rise and Rise of Bitcoin

Honestly haven't watched a single one though. I'm more of a debate guy than a documentary guy.

Also, thanks for mentioning those documentaries. Will definitely add the ones I haven't added yet.

Cool! I have more stuff now to learn when I have some time. Reading and researching on ones own is a good way to gain knowledge on bitcoin and cryptos in general, but it's always more pleasant to see a video of course.

I saw The Rise and Rise of Bitcoin some years ago, it's quite old but still good to watch. I'll watch the others and comment Wink

Re: How recover my hacked account?
by
Davil
on 26/10/2018, 10:56:20 UTC
You need to prove that you own the account, by signing a message using an address used on your hacked account.

If he/she no longer has access to the account, then they can not sign the address linked to the account. It could only have been done when they were actively in control of the account. Which if they did he would have to follow the instruction in the link already provided on the first comment.

You sign the message using the bitcoin address affiliated with your account, not with the bitcointalk account itself. Or did I misunderstand what you're trying to say here?

Yes, I have the very same question Cheesy I understood the Bitcoin one, and I hope it's the answer (otherwise it wouldn't be a feasible way to recover access to your account I think).

Read more about this: Recovering hacked accounts or accounts with lost passwords https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0

EDIT

You beat me to it by 8 seconds.  Angry

This is cool! I didn't know there was that way to recover the accounts. I hope I never lose it, but I'm quite more relaxed to know that it won't be lost forever if I can sign a transaction with an address that I've proven to be the owner of.

assistance there.

Gloverwrt, I understand that they're talking about signing with a Bitcoin address, it's obvious that if you lost access to your account you won't be able to do anything from it. I think it's that way because I'm not used to "signing" anything with an "email address", but now you created the doubt on me Cheesy

IMO the ICX token for the mid-long term can gain a big value, and chances are for XTZ too: those two are quite new altcoins with very good fundamentals and capable team members.

For the less risk-averse ones, low caps like ELIX or ONION are for you if you're for looking for the real moon and you're willing to burn in hell if the rocket doesn't make it out of the atmosphere.

Re: Decentralized exchanges
by
Davil
on 22/10/2018, 23:38:56 UTC

...i do know that there are some decent decentralized exchanges out there if you want to trade Ethereum -> ERC20 tokens.
(I think (https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/forkdelta/) is the most popular one?) Or https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/idex/ ? I'm not exactly an expert on these, so i might be wrong.

They're especially useful if you want to trade relatively unknown tokens. Otherwise, i'd stick to binance for now, until they themselves release their DEX..

Indeed, if what you're looking for are DEX for ERC tokens, Forkdelta (formerly Etherdelta) and IDEX seem to be the best options out there. I've used both and they're really easy to use, with seamless transactions (depending on the state of Ethereum's blockchain they may take a bit longer to go through, but in the worst case they'll be rejected and you'll get your tokens back).

I haven't used any DEX for coins but I think bisq may be a good one (as I've read about it in several places) and, anyone knows? maybe OpenBazaar's marketplace?

I'm just giving my sentiment and its still up to you on how you would take profits and losses. Don't blame anyone if something goes wronbg with your decision because you took the wrong advise, its still in your hands whether sell or hold.

Indeed, the answer from batang was quite clever and it's mainly the way these altcoins (shitcoins?) are working in general these days. But don't forget to always DYOR and finally follow your own guts when you finally make a decision. When advices are right, nobody greets the advisor, but when they're eventually wrong the blaming is too usual.

The best way to prevent accuse as a plagiarist is by writing your own, original content, and not copy-paste any other's. Most of the bounties have some rules that try to avoid people trying to earn some coins/tokens in exchange of copy-pasting the work of other members, and that's the way it should work so don't try to cheat the system.

If you want to earn some money, work for it. It's still not so difficult to do it, and you'll feel so much better with yourself building something on your own than plagiarising any other work that you'll agree with me it had been worth the effort.
