Yes, Windows xp is legendary and works perfectly on my old computer having my cold wallet.
Anyone running wallet software on windows xp is playing a very dangerous game. XP is no longer supported or being patched and is extremely vulnerable to malware, viruses and trojans. If you don't want to upgrade to 7 or 10 thats fine... run linux or ubuntu... but for goodness sake get rid of XP as you are endangering yourself and others around you.
If you are using XP as a cold wallet offline device that is fine as long as you physically remove all wifi cards and disable the network adapter, and be extremely careful about what memory sticks or sd cards you attach to the laptop. Than again , why not just get a SSS paper wallet , hardware wallet, or cheap raspberry pi instead for your cold wallet?
kk fine, and thanks. But that pc doesn't have any wifi card inbuilt. An I will surely upgrade that system to Windows 7 but need to buy a new ram. So going to shop from Amazon.

Was just a small dump and now Bitcoin going high again.
Seems tha a miner would be unloading his coins to pay for the bills or maybe a whale was doing this to buy bitcoins at low prices.

Just put that in you cold wallet and watch it everyday to get more confidence that you have done it and aim for next big thing(2 Bitcoin or more).
As you have started with newbie account and now are full member, so it will be easier for you now to earn extra Bitcoins faster.

Because the more money you print, more it's value decreases. As smelting cases of Germany after world War 2 and in Zimbabwe recently.
The value of currency is also determined on the basis of gold inside the country (I don't know the exact method).

Btc-e is a good exchange for day trading, in my opinion. On this exchange, if you want to trade between btc/usd then you can do it even without doing aml/KYC.
But of you want to withdraw usd then you will have to do aml/kyc.

Currently major wealth of bitcoin is limited to a few hands only. So they try to manipulate the prices and creates pumps and dumps. But after mass adaption in future, the prices will become stable and we will see the true price of Bitcoin.

Re: Why Bitcoin Could Be the Best Investment of the Century
I seriously believe that Bitcoin could be the greatest transfer of wealth in human history. Although my friends and family still think I'm crazy, but we shall see.
My family and Friends also think the same. They probably don't want to hear investment options from young members of the family and say what do you know about investment. But they will regret their decisions in future.

Re: Does the Price of Bitcoin Matter?
by

on 14/08/2015, 15:05:04 UTC
For me, yes it matters. I usually pay my Mobile phone bills with bitcoins. I earn bitcoins with signature campaign and some online skill based games then pay my bills and is going smoothly from a long time.
Microsoft have downgraded it's operating systems after windows 7(in my opinion) and Windows 10 is also in my ignore list. Why is the feature of sharing your wifi password with friends on Facebook is present in it Currently Linux operating systems are evolving very fast but you said Linux I not for you.
Windows 8.1 is fine, I hated the idea of windows 8 at first but after throwing classic shell on it and making sure I never see that metro screen it is a true upgrade to 7, now 10 is just fine as well. Every time there is a new Windows release expect to hear something bad about it and people say they will upgrade in months (then they never do and that is how we still have people on XP).
Yes, Windows xp is legendary and works perfectly on my old computer having my cold wallet.
Personally I believe that this well overestimating the rate internet connection-speeds and hard-disk space will grow. Just look at ADSL or even cable for instance.
I don't think storage will ever be much of an issue. Bandwidth sure as shit is and they seem to be a little casual about that with the ever increasing block size proposal.
Nothing you can do about it yourself. You have to wait for your friendly phone company to come around and do some digging up and install major hardware upgrades.
My bandwidth is unchanged in over a decade and there's nothing on the horizon either. It suits my purposes fine but it's not going to like running a node in such a future.
Actually I don't think bandwith is that much of an issue. It will take a bit longer to sync but that's that, the worst part will be downloading the blockchain the first time, then if you open it daily is not that bad.
40 gb!!!! With my connection speed the block chain will be downloaded in 4 to 5 days or maybe take a week.
Currently I've installed new os on my pc and electrum is also taking a while to synchronize.
Why didn't you make a backup? It took me 4/5 hours last time I downloaded the blockchain.
Can I backup my blockchain also I have backed up the private keys and seed but never knew about backing up the blockchain.
If the government bans anything then it becomes more popular in the residents of the country.
It's not like drugs or porn. They're fun and they address desires that are as old as our DNA.
Bitcoin's selling point is its utility. Take away the ability to openly utilise it in said country and who is going to put money into something they can't spend and others won't want or accept?
I'm not gonna think 'goddamn it that sounds desirable.' I'm gonna think 'Fuck that.'
Sure, there's black markets, hiding money, transferring it across borders but that's relatively niche. If BTC was made effectively useless tomorrow I struggle to see how that's going to turn people on. There are plenty of other options for them.
After government bans Bitcoin then people search for a reason of it. Then they see that someone was buying drugs with bitcoin anonymously then they think that heck yeah I finally found a way to do this. And bang Bitcoin is adapted by them.
But in second thought, whole country cannot be a drug abuser.

Yes, you should declare it as a capital gain, to avoid any risks in the future.
But I think of those who have made millions off Bitcoins by spending merely $15.

I think yes you can. All you have to do is put the valid proofs to show that the bitcoins as your asset and that the person have borrowed from you.

Re: Attempted Massacre using Bitcoins - Columbine Style
" Lyburd, 19, is accused of spending months building up his haul, which also included dozens of expanding dum dum bullets, CS gas and a collection of knives. " and " He is said to have used the digital currency Bitcoin to buy a 9mm Luger Calibre Glock gun on the dark web "
So he bought other weapons with fiat or cards and a 9mm with Bitcoin? They just have to single out Bitcoin. ^wtf^ If people buy food with Bitcoin and it creates a fart, will Bitcoin be blamed for Air pollution too? The media just have a way with words to make something out of nothing.
I think yes. It will also be blamed on Bitcoin. They just want to criticise the bitcoin in one way or the other.

I started using bitcoins in early 2015. I came to know about Bitcoin in late 2013 when Bitcoin reached around $1200 and after reading about the $10 million pizza.
I came into Bitcoin to make some money while sitting at home and also feel that it is innovative enough to change the world. So now I'm holding Bitcoin to see how far it goes.

You can give them pocket money in Bitcoins.
But there is no need to explain anything to them, just tell them that you will now give them pocket money in bitcoins, and they will be curious to know what the fuck it is.

Why are you putting on the helmet? Would it not be more visible on a t-shirt or something..? You can put some funny comment on the t-shirt... saying something like :
"If you take photos of this body, you have to pay in Bitcoin"
"Photo tipping to this address ---> {insert Bitcoin address}"
Remember the QR Code are used for many other things too... the Bitcoin symbol should be bigger, if you going to draw attention to it.
Idea of tipping for a photo is good.
But printing qr code on t-shirt isn't, because due to wind, and moving bicycle, the qr code will not be captured properly by camera. And most importantly, the photos will be captured from side of the road and not from front.
