hey dude did you get an email from NORML or that guys dispensary?

I need to reach out to that guy. I think it would be a worthy cause for sure. Don't you ?

Absolutely, any dispensaries we could get on board would be a winning goal pegged or otherwise. Also NORML is huuuge, and if we could garner support or press from them what so ever it could put us in the spotlight for potential crypto-savvy investors in the cannabis industry.

I just contacted several more retailers. I have yet to hear back from the two I contacted yesterday, but I'm hopeful that eventually a few should contact me back, hopefully with some good news. :O The more retailers we get the more value the coin should have due to being able to actually use it like money!~ <3 So everyone else should join in!~ :3

I've been working on Skype for a while with Dopecoindude in the background of this scene. I could no longer stand idly by when I realized it's up to the whole community to make a coin successful. So with Dopecoindudes approval and help, we've come up with a template for everyone to use to start contacting retailers. We would prefer retailers with shopify, or woocommerce however, I'm guessing we can figure stuff out for people without that if need be. The following is a template you can use to contact your favorite shops(Seed stores/pipe and smoke shops/grow shops etc)

Quote
Hello, I am contacting you on behalf of Dopecoin. We are currently looking for retailers to accept our currency. The Dopecoin development staff is very interested in the products and services you offer, and believe we have something to offer you as well. Dopecoin is a cryptocurrency very similar to Bitcoin however it stands apart from Bitcoin in a few key ways:
1.) We offer faster transaction times, most of the time Dopecoin transactions clear within a few seconds, where as Bitcoin transactions can take hours.
2.) We use a more secure algorithm than Bitcoin, making transactions safer.
3.) Assuming you decide to hold on to some Dopecoin you would be able to do what's called Staking and make more money.
4.) We are a cryptocurrency tailored towards the cannabis industry, and we would like to garner support from others in this industry as well as support them too.

We've already got 3 online Smoke shops accepting our currency, and would love to keep adding more retailers, and we will offer any support in adding our currency to your site that is needed.

Thank you very much for your time, sincerely the Dopecoin development staff.

As you can see everyone in this community can do their part to ensure the success of this coin. I've just sent this template off to 2 different companies and am awaiting a response, we really need to start on-boarding retailers as it will increase the value of this coin meaning more investors. Think of what makes other coins successful, it's a community effort guys. We will do this either way, but let's do it together and make it easier, and quicker. May the Dope be with you!~ :3

Guys I know why it's not counting our votes, you have to go to the email you used and confirm your vote! I just did and our vote moved to 3! Quickly if you've voted go to your email and look for the coinpayments.net confirmation email...

If you want Dope to be widely accepted everyone needs to step up and vote here:
https://www.coinpayments.net/vote

1 vote allowed per person for the small price of BTC0.001! All the BTC collected will be donated to charity, so there is no excuse not to vote.

It is time to get this thing moving again.

I agree we really need to make this happen!

We just need to get up to 16 votes top 4
https://www.coinpayments.net/vote-thanks

for 50 cents we should be able to get DopeCoin up there....

edit:  vote registered we just need 16 votes to pass fluttercoin ....

Voted

Yeah not quite sure why, but they don't seem to be counting our votes... Sad I contacted support, and assuming your vote is uncounted, I'd suggest you do the same...

I believe because of the hard work of the dopecoin team we will reach that 1 dopecoin is 1 gram of marihuana!

To da moon!

This would be ideal, imagine what we could all do if pretty much everybody in this community had money to invest in cool projects(not to mention the ideas we'd get from the ganja we could all suddenly afford Tongue). Next months coming up quick, I think I'm going to increase my Dopecoin stash while the price is so low. BTC prices seem to be on the rise again too(no idea how long it will stay that way). I'm looking forward to what's to come. This coin is still pretty new though to be honest, so yeah these things are to be expected I suppose as it tries to find it's legs. I completely agree that someone should actively be trying to get it promoted in it's intended market place. It seems that's the main place most people want to spend this coin, and they have no outlet to actually do so. This seems to me to be a main reason why people also might leave. Has any attempt been made to do this thus far yet? I'm not 100%, but I'm guessing adding another accepted coin to a marketplace like that would possibly increase their income too as an added incentive to get them to accept Dopecoin. Either way, we should keep up the effort to get Dope to a decent price long term no matter what it takes. <3

Just a hypothetical question of speculation, and curiosity more than anything. What do you guys think would happen to a coin like Dopecoin if suddenly you could spend it everywhere Bitcoin is accepted? Would the price go up(I'm thinking it would)? Would Bitcoin's price crash because of a sudden flood of other currency(this would be my main potential concern)? Would it push Both prices up? Just wondering what your thoughts on stuff like this are.

I'm giving away 1337.1337 dope to the first person who admits he is as high as I am!

Later edit: staff is not allowed to participate!

HA!  I get drug tested for my job, so that's out.  I AM getting shitfaced though  Cool.  What a dumbass contradiction.  I can get shitfaced and keep my job.  Toke one joint three weeks ago and BOOM, fired.  BULLSHIT!

Yeah, and what's worse, alcohol can kill you in more ways than 1, and does so to a fuck ton of people every year. Weed has never killed one person in all of recorded history. Peanut butter kills more people a year than weed ever has in all of history. Talk about hypocrisy!~ Shocked

I hear you on this and can totally relate.  Some advice?    Marshal your resources and then ask for help.  You do what you're good at and pay others or enlist volunteers to do the rest.   Don't try to be a one man show if you don't have to.   Let's have some dopecoin fundraisers.    Lay out to this community what work you need done or how much capital you need for bounties and what you're going to do with it.    We could have a high rollers poker tournament with a sizable % going to the development fund.  Your poker game is a lot of fun.  It's an asset, utilize it.     I'm willing to dip into my stash to put up for some bounties if that's what it takes.  I'm sure others are too.  My coin isn't appreciating any by me hoarding it.

This seems like one of the more obvious courses of action. Community funded micro crowdsourcing is one of the cool things you can do with cryptocurrency, even if the whole community only chipped in a little here and there it could add up to a lot in the long run. So yeah the fundraising is a pretty good idea, every major project should have a budget. We shouldn't expect 1-2 people to shoulder the burden of that budget all on their own it should be everyone who has a stake in this coins success. O.o The poker idea is also a bit neat, fundraising by playing games sounds pretty legit. Overall these seem like some badass ideas.

I got version 2.1 at that URL, you should be able to as well o.o They did a fork a while back to fix some security flaws/other issues and unless you've got the up to date version you will not be able to sync up with it. So yeah.

[23:34] seriously?  on the dopecoin.com web site... 3rd pic on the right states, "Nice Day For A Revolution".... you think that's okay?

Lol this person likes to be @#$% over by his government!

Greet Boneee

I also think that they fail to realize, a revolution doesn't have to be violent, and can be 100% productive/beneficial towards society as a whole. Some examples might be: The Scientific Revolution, The Industrial Revolution. I think they probably watch Fox. O.o

The coin is a little over a couple months old...so it takes time definitely.  But it's definitely on the community to make things happen as well.

http://pixskull.com Now Accepts it and is integrated into their whole site

http://bitcoindirect.net/images/sale/dopecoinaccepted.png

That's awesome man! Yeah, a project on this kind of scale needs more than just a few people working to advance it objectives! It has to be a collaborative effort by pretty much everyone involved in the community! We might do better with more organization, maybe give the community daily/weekly/monthly goals to accomplish as a group that would help press forward in our collective goals. All in all I think we need to spitball some ideas, and in an open forum like this one where the whole community can take part!

What will make Dopecoin a success?

1. Multipool? Maybe, a lot of coins has multipools now, so you already need to create a multipool with a lot of hashrate so that you're the biggest player on the market. Can Dopecoin do this? Very unlikely because of a weak community.

2. Changing to POS? A lot of coins are now using POS, and honestly the coins that are being traded and moving a lot are those using POS. Option for Dopecoin? Most likely not, as the owner of the coin is looking for more services and is not really interesting in changing the structure of the coin.

3. Pump your own coin? Most likely not.

So i believe Dopecoin has nothing to offer in the short term, maybe longer term it is a win situation and people that bought at 130 sats will be very happy in a few months/years. USDe was also trading at 30 sats and now trading at 200 sats, so it is just a matter of time before Dopecoin will move higher.

At least if marketing increases, as very sadly, i don't see a lot of marketing activity here Sad

Again it seems at least in my personal opinion that the low price stems mostly from a lack of people accepting it as payment, and general lack of legitimate reason to use it as opposed to something else(both of which yes seem to be more issues about marketing at this point not that it's not happening so much as it's not happening on a wide enough scale). The best example of this I can think of would be something like imagine the US dollar didn't exist until just now. Since it's brand new nobody accepts it as payment meaning it's all but worthless, especially compared to competitors that offer the same thing but are more widely accepted. If only a few places accept it sure it'd have some value, but not very much.

If more and more places started accepting it, and you can use it to do a lot of things it becomes more valuable still. I think we also need to figure out a way to get the community more active in building things to increase adoption. That's kind of the whole point of an open source community isn't it? The devs are doing a phenomenal job don't get me wrong, but they're only human, and seem to have a shit ton on their plate as it is. Bitcoin/Litecoin, and I'm sure just about any Cryptocurrency that is successful most likely didn't get there by just a closed circuit of developers/select few community members plotting their rise. They seem have massive communities involved in development/planning/promotion of all sorts of cool things that add value to the infrastructure as a whole.

I believe the community can and should be involved in building stuff to help increase adoption/add value in general. This should be especially easy as these newer systems like ePOS roll out. I do agree a big part of it seems to be marketing though. So overall I think the biggest wall we face is getting enough adoption/acceptance to give people a reason to use this currency over others. Whether it be on a market like the Silk Road, or other more legal things, we should want as many places to accept Dopecoin as possible just to give people a reason to want to use it. Maybe we need some people strictly devoted to marketing as well, who knows.

Feel free to correct any mistakes I've made/add any opinions you may have these are just my thoughts.

Adding a multipool will do damage to the hash rate of the coin, really a good idea?

The coin needs hash rate for blocks and security against attacks.

The hash rate is a lame 120 MH at the moment. My theory is that if a multipool is introduced, the buy pressure increasses and prices will go up. it will quickly be evident that its more profitable to mine it directlly, and will jump to mine it till it reaches a kind of equilibrium where the prices is always optimal and slowly rising, miners switch between multipool and mining directly as per their profitability asessment. The short dip in the hash rate after the multipool's introduction will quickly be filled by miners bypassing the multipool Smiley

I think one of the biggest parts of why the price is so low is namely because there are really only 3 things you can do with it so far. 1.) Hold and hope for huge price rise. 2.) Trade for mostly modest increases due to low 24 hour volume/low prices in general. 3.) Spend it on a very very limited number of things. From my understanding in this kind of economy to survive and flourish the currency needs to be circulated, like a lot. It seems like mostly what people are doing is holding on to their currency(not sure) in hopes of something like Bitcoin happening, and you couldn't blame them I suppose. More ways to spend Dope will probably mean more circulation of the currency which means more people pass the word along which means hash rate as well as price would probably go up due to increased adoption. Again these are just my ideas, feel free to correct any mistakes I've made.

Almost 400,000 DOPEs, looking forward to use those in the Poker Tournament, and increase my stake with 60% Cheesy
I should really make some time to play poker with my dopes, it's a great game.

Yeah, things like this are partly a reason I wanted to try and get the faucets up and running again. If people could get even a small amount of Dopecoin from them they could save up to buy cool stuff. ORRR If they end up being lucky they can multiply their Dope by playing the games, and get cool shit even quicker, or they could hold onto some, and help spread the word, all of these might help to stimulate the prices a bit/spread the news faster! "Hey dude, check out what I got practically for free just for having fucking fun, and supporting the greater good!" :O I think even though mining is still relatively easy/possible some people just cannot even afford a basic upgrade for mining even just slightly better. We should all chip in what we can, in this type of environment it seems what goes around comes around! <3 <3

Why is the openings post still saying: Texas Hold'em Poker Coming Soon ?

Good point !

Very strange.... I was under the impression it said "Re: [DOPE] DopeCoin - Heartbleed conquered! Digishield performing perfectly! "

I see what Dopey sees. O_O Also Dopey, both faucets seem to be down, do you think it has anything to do with these recent updates? The main one seems to be saying something like "Cannot seem to connect at the moment, Waiting for human to come back!!". Just wondering what it would take to get them up again as I'd like to donate a few Dopecoin.
