Just another coin to me...

Slow start, but the coins structure seems sound.

Based on WHAT?

Wonder how this will pan out in terms of return in a month or so when a ton of GPU clients are out there massively increasing difficulty.

Not to mention it will generate a lot of XPM for sale which may (not necessarily) drive the price down.

Re: What PSU for (4) Gigabyte R9 280x Rev2 Gpu's?

You could but you'll be pushing the limit.  Some of these PSUs can push a little more than spec'd but the efficiency just gets shot.

Better off getting say, two 850w and using a splitter.  That way you'll have lots of headroom and a much lower hydro bill.

Re: HELP! struggling to make 6 gpu R9 290 rig to run on windows 7

This is not a RAM, motherboard devices, Windows, sexual orientiation or dog breed preference issue.

The problem is Catalyst drivers since 12.6 or 12.8 for Windows limited the number of GPUs to 4.  Anything after that will show up with an exclamation mark.

The workaround to this is to remove any and all catalyst drivers (thoroughly).  Perhaps use TechPowerUp's cleanup utility.  Then disable verified driver installation, reboot and use modified drivers.  Final step is to manually install OpenCL.

This has worked on the three rigs I have built, every single time.  More details here, closer to the bottom of the page:

If I want to test this on only 1 of my 4 cards in my 280x rig, is that possible?

cgminer lets me specify devices by using -d switch ; does your software let me specify which device to use and leave the rest for scrypt or whatever?

PM'd you OP.

Have some 280x that would like some good crunching action Smiley

Let us know if you are still accepting testers - I have a couple of different configs I can run these things through.

Thx

If you still need a windows tester, let me know.

I have three rigs - one w/ 280x, one w/ 6970s and one with 7970s/7850s/7950.

Someone might want to inform this guy he's way over his head.

No responses = no people mining = no confirmations = mass exodus/extinction.

@ OP

What is the exact model of your card?  I have a gigabyte, two XFX and a sapphire 7850 and all need different configs for decent hashrates.

The other thing that can cause rejects is the pool itself if your workers aren't configured (ie duplicated) or settings that are pushing your hardware beyond a limit or two (whether it be thermal or clocks)

Update: Worked on the S775 board!  Now just need a 16x riser to try the other one (not taking any chances w/ the shorting route  Grin)

Now if only there was an easy fix for these temps in the coming summer heat lol

Thank you everyone for the extremely detailed responses.

My apologies for not providing sufficient information earlier.

I am using the newest 13.xx drivers, and will try an older version once I'm home later today.  Seems like the z68 chipset should be fine for five cards but a bit uncertain if the s775 shares the same fate.

Will let you know.

Cheers and thanks again!

So I thought I was being clever by finding a couple of good deals on Gigabyte boards with five slots total, as they were half the price of the BTC specific boards (I wasn't going to install more than 5 cards anyways).

The model numbers are http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3483#ov and GA-Z68AP-D3 http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3483#ov

On both boards I tried all combination of cards, and risers (all powered USB risers).

On both boards one card would always not install.  This would randomly seem to vary by slot and by card, almost with each reboot.  Strange thing is this happened on both machines.

I used neosmart's tool to disable driver signature verification, but that didn't help.  This seemed to be a different issue as on both boards, four cards were no issue (all slots work, just not all five) but the fifth one always faltered.  I thought since I was using powered risers this would not be an issue.

Perhaps there was an IRQ issue or something similar, so I disabled every extra peripheral in BIOS (audio, extra SATA ports, USB, etc).

I am using a 1200W PSU in one rig (powering a 7970 and three 7850s) and a 1600W PSU powering the other (4 7950s).

Any ideas?  Thanks in advance!

I have this same exact card OP, and I can't get any BIOS to flash.  I tried using ATIflash in dos, and unlocking the BIOS then using /f switch.  No go.

Winflash fails as well.

I can't even get it to top 450 most of the time Sad

I must admit though the one thing that would have made this launch a bit smoother is if he built all binaries earlier today and uploaded to git same time as the included source.

The developer was busy at school earlier , you have to understand.

I feel bad, but I laughed

So angry that my entitlement to profit off this free PoW that someone made isn't working 100% off the bat.

Calm the @#%k down people, it's not going anywhere.
