Hello, I am a retiree.  I cashed out my conventional retirement accounts and invested the funds in cryptocurrency after monitoring the crytpo markets for several years and spying an opportunity to get in when btc hit bottom about a year ago.  I hold some xmr too, and it has done quite well.
I am making this post to introduce myself, and of course so that I'll be able to post in other sections. The signal-to-noise ratio is pretty good here, if you avoid the main bitcoin speculation thread  Smiley

At which price point do you expect to sell, if that's not a secret?

Re: 5 years old girl slapped by 17yo thug in the school bus...

She is white, she deserves it... Or at least that's the new normal.

The teen, Tavon Walters, was on probation at the time of the assault. It's not clear why he was allowed to ride the bus with a 5-year-old that's 12 years his junior. Nonetheless, the school's superintendent Phyllis Schwarting defended Tavon's actions saying: "The behavior on the bus was not any more abnormal than most buses

Are we going to turn every instance of people behaving like idiots in a race issue?

Re: Currency v Property

I'd say that it is more of a commodity. Like gold, it is not issued by a central authority, but mined in exchange for spent resources. The fact that it is highly liquid as a medium of exchange (one of the defining characteristics of a currency) is not enough to say that it is, indeed, a currency, and only a currency. Gold was also freely used as a medium of exchange, when coins were made out of it.

I'm not sure if things there are that dire, but the country is definitely undergoing an immense crisis. And they sit on some of the largest proven deposits of oil at the same time. Goes to show what socializm can do with a perfectly good society.

It's to bad that these rioters don't seem to understand that there are some really serious criminals out there and only two minor details that have seldom been reported was that whites were being randomly targeted during the Milwaukee riots by the black criminal mob.

Yup, a black cop shoots a black armed perp in self defence. What we gonna do? Blame whites, riot in our own community. These people sometimes.

Re: Does the Price of Bitcoin Matter?
by

It does, and always will. Bitcoin is a currency, one of its primary functions being medium of exchange. You can't pay for stuff with something which has no price.

price will always mater no way to be something else reason is simple price is not stable when price of 1 bitcoin become stable i believe that price will not natter that much

I believe that the price can only stop to matter after the overwhelming majority of companies start accepting BTC for their goods and services, and Bitcoin replaces the most popular fiat currencies as a medium of exchange. I don't think that that is achievable - BTC will always stay a niche currency. The niche can grow very large, yes, but it will never be a universally adopted thing. That's my opinion anyway.

A lot of people are already in to the Bitcoin community but bitcoin is not yet known generally to other people. What are the things you usually say when people ask what Bitcoin is?

We generated ten things about Bitcoin that will make people believe and support the cryptocurrency, you can check it out on the link below:

Ten things about Bitcoins that will make you become a believer and supporter

We would like to hear comments and additions from you to help convince beginners or other people to embrace and use the crypto technology.

Having services which give out free bitcoins for some actions definitely helps - that way people can try it out without having to pay. Faucets are well known, and there are also companies which have promo campaigns that give you free bitcoins, like Waterhole.

If you have 1 BTC, what coin will you trade with it ?

I'm not a professional trader, but if the opposite was true, I'd probably trade ETH/ETC. There's a lot of uncertainty on that market right now: uncertainty translates into risk, risk translates into profit.

Re: Will there still be terrorism from the same groups in 20 years?

Don't mean to be pessimistic, but I think it will get worse.

The new age of technology has made terrorist acts very likely to be filmed on mobile phones/cameras and instantly uploaded and shared between millions on the internet (or even streamed live).

IMO this has two main downsides:

Firstly it helps the terrorists by broadcasting their actions instantly, and globally, making them think they are doing a more effective job (maybe it makes them feel like better "martyrs"), and also makes others more likely to engage in terrorist acts.

Secondly it turns public opinion against the religions that these terrorists claim to follow, and against their races (which at the moment tend to be Middle-Eastern or North African). This causes an uprising in public support for far-right wing parties/government in Western countries, and hatred and animosity to these religions and races in general.

These two aspects of new technology cause a feedback loop that just seems to make the problem worse.

If only these fucking lunatics would stop this shit maybe we could all just get along??  Roll Eyes

The impact of technology doesn't end on smartphones. The combined technological advances allow one person to produce much more damage on average with each passing decade. The Deus Ex series of videogames, despite being a work of fiction, makes a good job of picturing a society in a downward spiral, where good-intentioned technological advances enable ever more terrifying acts of terrorism.

Re: Will my method be a good steady income?
by
DrankTooMuchKoolaid

Hello everyone,
It's been around a week since I started my bitcoin journey (few years if i want to be precise. I mined bitcoin back in 2011 without knowing much about it. RIP those lost ~0.005 bitcoins). So I am planning to make bitcoin income as a extra-pocketmoney type. I want to know your thoughts on my process.

Right now, I am on few faucets.
My main focus is on multiply-BTC in freebitco.in
After I collect 0.0002BTC on it, i am planning to use it with starting bet 1 Satoshi, and martingale method. Since my laptop is on almost all the time, and I think it can afford a single-tab browser with the Script running, even while I am doing other work.

With an profit of around 430 Satoshi per 1000 rolls(tried it myself, have lost almost everything while trying Grin ), and assuming that each rolls take 2 seconds, it is approx. 700-800 Satoshi per hour.

What do you guys think of it? Do you think it's okay if I start the multiply-BTC at 0.0002BTC or should I save more before I begin? I am also thinking of doing signature campaign later on, so should I wait for sometime before I start multiply-BTC? I want to be able to earn approx, 10$ per month if possible after the next few months.

Thanks for the feedback.

If such a simplistic thing as Martingale method worked, everyone would be filthy rich by now. It's an old cliche, but the only way to make a steady living on a casino, is to open one yourself. Look for other ways to make money.
