I'm just saying though, both of you guys are directly responsible for the price not already being high. The more you sell as opposed to hold/spend the coins the more resistance there is to the price. So even if the price does go below 7 or anything, you still can't ever complain.

except dubs'420' though, i hope he's spending it on something real special Grin

Yeah nutes for my grow room HAHA
In all seriousness though I try and hold onto my BTC as long as possible. I'm currently holding 14+ coins and don't plan on selling till next month as I've covered my costs this month without needing to sell any BTC. It's not like I sell every day .8 btc like I see all day on MTgox live.

I'm a miner have 2 6970's and a 5830. I cover my electricity my trash and sewage bill all from selling BTC around 240 to 260 a month and I have enough left over to pay some on my newegg bill for the cost of the second rig I built for the dedicated 6970 setup. With the current prices I'm definitely not butt hurt as long as it's over 8 dollars I can still cover all costs. I pay .11c for first 200kwh's and .14c kwh after that and I run my central air during the day.
I also have a job so this is all fun and games for me in not hurting in anyway.

How does this compare to the other one Phateus has?

I can't give you exact numbers as I don't feel like reinstalling kernel 2.1 but I do know it was slower for me than this latest Kernel from Diapolo

New version was just released, it should be the fastest for 69XX cards:
Download version 2011-08-04 (pre-release): http://www.mediafire.com/?upwwud7kfyx7788

This is the preferred switch for Phoenix in order to achieve comparable performance:
Code:
-k phatk AGGRESSION=12 BFI_INT FASTLOOP=false VECTORS VECTORS2 WORKSIZE=256
or
Code:
-k phatk AGGRESSION=12 BFI_INT FASTLOOP=false VECTORS VECTORS2 WORKSIZE=128

Please test this version with SDK 2.4 / SDK 2.5! SDK 2.1 performance seems worse, but at least it should work. Report any errors and problems here and let me know what you think.
Have a look at your cards temperatures, I got a report, that they may be lower, which would be great Smiley.

Regards,
Dia

I just tried this on my 2 6970's Cat 11.7 SDK 2.4 Win 7 x64
Using poclbm on GUIminer with your 7-11 Kernel = 425.4 -v -f0 -w 128
Using phoenix on GUIminer with your 8-4 Kernel = 425.5 -k phatk AGGRESSION=12 BFI_INT FASTLOOP=false VECTORS VECTORS2 WORKSIZE=128
Side note the phoenix miner stays better fully utilized now meaning less fluctuation it's ranging from 425.4 to 425.5 where as using poclbm I was getting ranges of 424.8 to 425.4

Keep up the great work.

Re: Howto Setup a 5830 rig ?

are those core speeds you guys have, are they the upper limit to the 5830 ?

also great help so far, thank you

Yeah that's the upper limit I run that speed overnight while I'm not using it as it can be a little unstable if I use the PC at 1060 if I back it down to 1050 and lower the aggression to 3 and switch fastloop to true I can use the desktop and watch videos with no problems artifacts or driver recovery's. Every card is different but I would think 1000 to 1040 is achievable with a bump in core voltage and I have been running mine at the upper limit on core voltage since I got this card about 2 weeks ago.

I run my 5830 at 1060 core 1195mV 386 mem with the modified Phatk kernel from here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=25860.0 settings are -k phatk VECTORS BFI_INT FASTLOOP=false AGGRESSION=13 WORKSIZE=256

I feel like your waisting alot of electricty to achieve around 7 more megahash then me. Any clue how many more watts that requires?

Not sure but I know it's less than the 2 6970's I got in another rig mining 24/7. I don't worry about electricity as long as I make enough in bitcoin to cover the overhead. My electric bill for my entire house with central air running when I'm home, 2 PC's and a TV is around $250 a mo and I make roughly $350+ (well at least before the recent price drop think I may hold onto my coins till they get back up above 13) so wasn't a big concern. I may move my 6970 rig to my friends garage who has free electricity but I didn't want to share my profits but if the price stays low under 10 It may be better.

Mmmh, 2 weeks ago, eleuthria said to me, he wont do anything against pool hopping, Congratz to changing your mind. But i think he will loose a lot of donations, but in the end it is healthier for the pool.
He gained a 2.5% donator right here.

Re: Mt Gox Has Stollen My Money
by

I had a problem with a withdrawal to dwolla waited 4 days and never heard back from my support ticket so I Pm'd MTgox_Adam and he fixed my problem in about 5 minutes and I had my money 15 minutes later. I was a bit upset that I never got a response in a official capacity though my support ticket and that I had to resort to a PM on a totally different forum to get this fixed but they did fix the problem. Give it a shot worked for me.

Mt. Gox response

Since I just registered I'm limited to posting my reply here instead of the Marketplace thread in question http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=24332.0

I have been waiting for my withdrawal from Mt. Gox to my Dwolla account for over 3 days now and I finally got some kind of response on the matter albeit from this forum. Still unacceptable to have to wait for 3 days to find out why my ticket hasn't been replied to in 2 days and to have to read it here and not on your own support page is even more unacceptable. You guys need to get your head out of your arse and let your customers know quicker that hey were having trouble with withdrawals some may be delayed. Hopefully I can get my measly 181.00 soon.
