Re: Time to sue ButterflyLabs - Big Single-SC owner let's league for class action
by
EngMan

Said the guy that I just proved to, showing that Josh/BFL lies.

Oh?  Care to provide a single shred of proof that I've lied?  There's not a single person here that's been able to back up this claim, yet I've demonstrated it through your own posts multiple times that you're a liar.

Inaba/BFL_Josh: Perhaps you could make all of this simple for everyone involved. Since you are on record as stating the the FCC certification of the units (not just a 3rd party screen) was pending months ago,  why have you not answered the simple questions concerning said failure to certify?

Note that I know you will not answer my question above, I'll most likely be called a name instead...but for posterities sake when your company is sued into oblivion. It seems like the only way to make a profit from you is to buy a Jalapeño and then sue shortly in small claims court for non delivery. Please understand that I don't advocate for this.

Also Josh, please watch your language... eventually you might piss off a protected group and I'm sure BFL would throw you to the wolves to protect their "business", just like their customers feel each day.

Also, if you check out the Buy/Sell orderbook depth at BTC-e...that is pocket change for NVC compared to LTC.

People should educate themselves on what they are investing in before they invest/purchase. That includes my coins that I sell as well. Do your due diligence people.  Smiley

Agreed.

The risk of NVC is huge and I still can't see the value in it over LTC. As of now, per the dustcoin.com mining profitability calculator the total value of all NVC generated is ~17,155 BTC while for LTC it is ~513,111 BTC. LTC is much, much larger and not controlled by a very few who can destroy it easily like NVC, IMO.

LTC is a safer bet for me.

Thanks to this self-moderated thread...I know I'm not interested. You have no proof of a product. Just signed NDA's a few links and pics and a lot of deleted posts. Many of the people here posting could whip up something similar in an hour and listed it.

Before I read this thread, I saw your product. I then when through what I call the "BFL trust process". I didn't trust them (BFL) long ago and I feel good for avoiding their products. I feel the same about you...So why aren't you the new BFL?

Good luck with your business venture!

Why is the pool closing down? There's a notice on the site directing people to coinhuntr.com. What's up?

Re: Recomendations for a good breaker to handle all of my rigs.
by
EngMan
on 08/06/2013, 22:15:12 UTC
Hephaestus is correct! 100%.

Do you know what happened before breakers (and the fuses that preceeded them)? A crap load of house fires.

When your house was wired, a certain gauge (size) wire was used for each circuit that was run to a breaker that would PROTECT that wire from being overloaded and causing a FIRE within your walls where the wire is run next to (most likely) WOODEN studs.

So when I needed more power for a setup I had an electrician put in a couple more independent circuits in the computer room. Buy a power meter (example a "Kill-a-Watt" available for less than $20) and measure your actual usage. Don't exceed 80% of that usage continuously for that circuit or you'll have popped breakers due to heat problems. The electrician was cheaper than my home owners insurance deductible... If there is a fire, will your insurance cover you when it is determined that dangerous electrical modifications were made to your house/apartment/shack?

BTW I'm not an electrician, but minimal research will show you I'm right. Those breakers tripping are saving you and your house from a potential fire. While I'm on my soapbox....do your smoke detectors work? Do you have a fire extinguisher readily available in different parts of your house?

Re: About server level fans
by
EngMan
on 08/06/2013, 20:59:38 UTC
I think the problem once you get into the higher flow rates that the fan design can't help with is the amazing amount of air that is "wooshing"....moving very quickly, through the system. It is less a fan problem with many of the fans and more of the nature of the volume of air. Even top-notch bearings and a great blade design are hard to make these quiet at the higher air flows.

Do you have room to put more fans which you can run at a lower speed, instead of a few very high speed and flow fans? Could you duct/reposition/etc your setup so you don't need as much air, as long as it is used more efficiently?

For my LTC rigs, I try to find the best kh for the card...then maybe try a slight undervolt in small steps to see if you can keep the card stable while keeping the performance. Every card is different though. GPU-Z can help see how good your card is.

Re: PCIe Power Risers with Capacitors? Are they better then without Caps?
by

on 05/06/2013, 02:48:36 UTC
Not sure about the cap, but that could be protected. I do like the multiple power and ground wires. Most powered risers I've seen only have one +12v wire, no ground.

Where did you find them? Price?
Thx

I concur with Beaflag VonRathburg on the escrow. No escrow = no go on my 20 unit order. Even though you said you would take the escrow in earlier messages, you also said it put me at the end of the line. By that time it wouldn't be worth it.

I've never had problems with BTC using escrow. I have had problems without using it. Especially for multi-thousand dollar orders...

Another bonus.....you don't have constant security updates that require restarts. That saves a lot of downtime.

I'm loving this pool. Lowest stales I've ever had. All I ask for is low stales, timely payouts, great uptime, and responsive pool owners....and this one has them all. Keep up the good work!

I just brought around 15MH over.  Was at pooledbits.com for a day and got nearly nothing. I've made more here already after less than 2 hours. I was at Burnside's pool before but stales were killing me. So far, great pool and low low staples!

I think I'm pulling out....earned 0.07 LTC in 16 hours with 15,000KH/s.

More than enough  time for a PPLNS LTC pool to pay something. This sucks, i just moved from Burnside stale pool.

More child boards...
by

on 09/05/2013, 02:16:38 UTC
I think we should add some child boards to the Alt currencies board....definitely an LTC one and maybe a Brand New coin one. Even though this is Bitcointalk..... all lot of us here are interested in other coins and the Alt board is a mess.

Edit: autocorrect typo fixed.

I'm definitely out since escrow gets moved to the back of the line....which means I might get mine in a few months. They are barely worth the price now and screwing over people that want escrow....eff off.

Edit...I'd be more likely buy to BFL right now (not gonna happen). Too bad, seemed legit since they were cool with escrow.

Please come by the BFL Forums JackRabbit and/or email office@butterfly.com or call to get it straightened out.

You've jumped into this thread twice and still haven't answered anyone's questions Inaba. Why? It could stop the trolls and solve a problem for your infinitely patient customers.

It would be nice to if you actually had ANY waterblocks for 7950's in stock. I've looked about 3 times over the last 4 months and you only have a backplane that is OOS and a bracket. So you've already lost a lot of potential miner watercooling business by not stocking the basics.

Perhaps I'm looking in the wrong area? I'm in the Liquid Cooling --> Water Blocks VGA ATI ---> 7950 and nada useful items for me.
