I notice when I was away, phex (who's always been a helpful member of the bustabit community and script author) has made some pretty strong accusations: http://phex.io/bustabit

I suspect it originates from a misunderstanding on how the provably fair works, as it actually definitively rules out the type of attack that phex brings up (it would break the chain).

Looks like after grinding a -ev game for 31,600 games he was up around 600,000 with some 6-1 martingalish system.

He took this as solid proof that he was the first person to ever develop a betting system that was capable of overcoming the house edge.
With his system, he would be making 60-70 btc a year from RHaver.

Then he lost 47 in a row and his account went from almost BTC1 to 1 bit.  (which he turned into 7 before 0)

Can't blame himself, can't blame the house edge, gotta blame someone.

In the poker world we call these guys riggies.  They're everywhere.

Debating them should be done strictly for entertainment purposes only: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/28/internet-poker/great-poker-rigged-debate-collected-threads-edition-255990/

[clipped]

If he had bothered to check "!streak <7" he would have seen that a streak of 47 busts under 7x is by no means spectacular. Martingale always seems like it's beating the system when it's running good, but it's when it goes bad it goes bad in a hurry...

Yea guys its never been an issue of will I get my BTC. I trust moneypot team 100% with my BTC and know ill be paid. I just dont wanna wait 1-3 hours for the BTC I withdrawal to confirm. Not a huge deal normally

We now have 100 bit and 200 bit fee options for withdrawals Smiley

What's the approximate wait time for withdrawals for the 200 bit fee options vs the 100 bit fee option? And will the fees necessary to be considered as high priority by the miners continue to rise?

I've never had the balls to bet anything substantial (usually just a faucet whore and dust better), but I recently won 10mBTC on a 160k satoshi bet. It might be only $4.50, but considering I was betting pennies it was a big victory for me Smiley

I though I had replied to that question via my phone's browser but I must have mis-tapped on something. It wouldn't push it out. It would wait in the very first place until it was solved. :-)

Here's the new picture:

The winning payment for the previous one will be sent in a few hours. Sorry for the delay on that.

Wow, initially there's very little contrast on this one. My guess is a dark object on a light/white background...when do I get my prize? Cheesy

Honestly though it'll be cool to watch this one slowly clear up...

I was thinking about investing little bit in Bitvest but it's so far not really clear for me. Don't understand how the margin/multiplier works and what you have to fill in. Hope anyone can explain it to me so I understand what I am doing.

With a margin of 1, you would lose 2.7% of your investment if someone has made a max bet and hit the highest multiple in the row.
With a margin of 5, you would lose 13.5% of your investment if someone has made a max bet and hit the highest multiple in the row.
With a margin of 0.25, you would lose 0.675% of your investment if someone has made a max bet and hit the highest multiple in the row.
In short, with a higher margin, you will have a higher risk and a higher potential profit/loss.

Correct, the margin is simply a multiplier for how big you want your investment to pretend to be. For example, a margin of 5 would mean any losses/gains seen by your investment would be increased by 5, because the site treats your investment as if it were 5x as large.

Higher margin: Higher risk, higher reward (aggressive)
Lower margin: Lower risk, lower reward (conservative)

hi
i have almost 0.03btc missing in my wallet
i noticed support 1 week ago but they doesn't even answered me
i took screen capture of history/trade/wallet

check your balance

Can you describe more how it is missing or give any more info?
Can you see it in withdraw log or anywhere? Maybe it is just in reserved order?

hi
i don't have order

My last withdrawal was the January 15, 2015 since i never withdrew or bought anything, only sold

(image clipped)

i have 0.017 in my balance but if you add up all my selling, i should have around 0.043btc

(image clipped)

In your screenshot it looks like those BLU/BTC orders are not completed. (amount 9990 completed 0)
And then when I calculate all other orders together it is about 0.027btc, and your balance is 0.017 + that 0.01 you withdrew = 0.027btc
So based on those screenshots it looks like nothing is missing.

u r right
i didnt see that orders wasn't completed

thanks

Well glad we could get that cleared up Cheesy If you're actively trading, depositing, withdrawing, etc. I'm not sure how anyone keeps up with what the balance of their account should be across all the currency wallets.

It's like we need to balance our bitcoin checkbooks regularly :-P

Ah man, I've got set a timer or something so I can be actively betting for as many of these milestones as possible. I missed the first two it looks like, but there's still plenty more to win Smiley

Does anyone know what the average time between 10 million bets is?

Geez is there a signature campaign for NEWBIUM or something? That's like 10 users all using very similar language spamming this thread... Could also be a few dedicated users building up activity across many accounts.

Either way, they should just use the /addcoin form that YoBit has as other users have helpfully pointed out.

All that being said, still though...137 BTC is nearly $70,000 lost :-P Even if that was over 10 minutes or 10 months it'd still suck so bad, but I guess the size of the loss is directly proportional to the size of the bankroll Smiley

Edit: which turns out to be exactly the same as what RHaver said just in a different way. Grin
Eventually the number of past events will be so small when compared to infinity that the past events doesn't matter.

^ Exactly, and that's what helps me when I think about it. Doesn't matter whether it's 1 past event or 1,000,000 past events...they're equally small when compared to infinity  Smiley

I think the lure of trying to beat or anticipate the game will always be strong enough to fool some people into thinking they know what's coming next...

I think I will give this site a go as I advertise for them anyways.

You definitely should! It's a great site that's a lot of fun. Sparked is always thinking up new ideas for promos and giveaways (mostly out of his own pocket I might add).

My username name on bitvest is the same as on here, so be sure to say hello if you see me online. If I'm having a good betting day I may even tip you a little something Smiley

they should give every week a small amount of the freezing balances back -.-

kind regards

They announced quite a while back now that they would not be paying out the frozen balance.

Yeah, I just wish they wouldn't keep showing it. It gives me hope that one day I might get it back :-P

They really got dealt a raw deal with having Google Adwords refuse to pay out, that really sucks for them :-/

If they could place an infinite number of bets, knowing that it will converge to 1.97x, it seems like that would make it +EV.

It would seem that way, but it's actually just convincing illusion. The median will converge back to 1.97, but it won't really help you be +EV. As an example, imagine you flip a coin 100 times, and 90% of them land on heads.  If you keep flipping the coin, eventually the amount of heads will be 50%. But that doesn't mean that tails is any more likely to come up =)

Exactly, a very convincing illusion. The human mind is very alert to patterns and is incredibly susceptible to the "well it's due" fallacy :-P

Here's a better example: I flip a coin.  It lands tails three times in a row.  I get ready to flip it again.  Do you think it's more likely to land heads on this flip than tails?  Why?  The coin has no memory.

I really like the coin example, because people can look at a coin and see it has no memory of the past. What tends to really confuse people is more abstract things like "low game median". E.g. over the last 1000 games, let's say the median is bust was 1.9.  We know the median is going to trend back towards 1.97x -- so surely it's a good time to bet?

If they could place an infinite number of bets, knowing that it will converge to 1.97x, it seems like that would make it +EV. But going back to the coin example, if it lands on tails 100 times in a row, we know it'll be 50% heads on an infinite number of flips, but unfortunately we can't bet an infinite number of times to catch that profit :-P

Wow, I never knew people did gambling live streams. I'm very surprised by it, as it doesn't sound like something many people would watch unless it was a huge whale betting. I might participate in the lottos you are running here. Why are they in this thread though? Does it somehow relate to the livestream?

Yeah it would be really cool to watch a big whale throw some serious bitcoin around. You could maybe attract them with a promo or offer if they are willing to livestream then maybe bitvest refunds a certain percentage of their losses or something...

Sometimes it's just best to ignore inflammatory, provocative, and passive-aggressive language, and I will choose to do so now. I'm obviously not the only one who has noticed it, and I have to give the MP staff much credit for dealing with the more...difficult...users.

please specify how many tabs a user may open? why not say 1 or 2 etc or no additional tab is allowed! an easy rule for all

Isnt it clear already? it has been stated that they do not want any user to open additional tab for faster betting purposes

We do NOT want users to open up multiple tabs to bet.

Im not a native speaker but I do understand the meaning of that bolded word completely. You could always set your site to deny the other tab when someone tried to open up multiple tabs for betting

to be frank and it should be clear that I asked the MP owner and not you. but in case you are one of the new MP owners I apologize and I will phrase my question for you

please confirm

To be frank and clear, the MP owner answered you and very specifically said only 1 tab was allowed, and so this hostile tone towards oHnK seems very unnecessary to me. He was simply restating the answer that you apparently missed.

Additionally, it's now a moot point with the latest site updates/upgrades as mentioned by Dogedigital.
