This is an unofficial pre-announcement meant to inform the Counteryparty Community about a new asset class being made available to Counterparty users...

The SolarWind Mining Company (SWMC) has been working on building a Hashing EXchange (HEX) for the past several months. SWMC expects to have the official launch of the SWMC-HEX sometime between mid September and late November. SWMC will be offering preorders for Bitcoin mining hash power via Counterparty through an asset called SWMCHEX.

About the SWMCHEX asset:

One SWMCHEX is equal to one GHS, and a total of 5 PH/s (5,000,000 SWMCHEX) have been issued with 4,000,000 SWMCHEX being sold at ~85¢/GHS. Bitcoin earnings from mining will be paid via Counterparty's built in dividend feature. SWMC-HEX is making the first 1,000,000 SWMCHEX (1 PH/s) available now and there will be a 10% bonus to purchasers. So, if you purchase 100 SWMCHEX you'll actually receive 110 GHS!! The additional 1,000,000 SWMCHEX will be used for bonuses, giveaways, bounties, to cover variances in the exchange rate of BTC or are to be sold before launch.

Be one of the first 500 purchasers of at least 100 GHS and you'll be eligible to win 1 TH/s worth of SWMCHEX!!

Some of the major features of the SWMC-HEX:

Tradable Mining Power which can be bought our sold at a price you determine

Instant ROI Calculation based on you buy price allows you to estimate how long it will take for your purchased hashing power to mine enough currency to reach your targeted ROI, at what price you must sell hashing power you own to obtain ROI or what combination of both mining time and sell price will achieve ROI for you... By using the Instant ROI Calculation you will be empowered to make the right decision on your mining purchases and the tool so you never have to buy to high, sell to low or to soon to reach ROI ever again...

Our hosted miningware will be utilizing Immersion Cooling to increase efficiency and protect the miningware from heat damage and extending its usability

SWMC's miningware will be Fabricated by the SWMC using open source hardware PCBs specifically designed to work with any cryptocurrency mining chip, making the SWMC-HEX capable of scaling up mining power very quickly using the most cost effective hashing power available at any given time

SWMC believes that large mining operations should help protect the Decentralized Nature of Bitcoin's Hashing Network, so,.. The SolarWind Mining Company will make it possible for owners of hashing power on the SWMC-HEX to point that hashing power to any mining pool that they wish, essentially the same way that they would control a physical miner in their own possession.

A "Create Your Own Mining Pool" feature which can be used for solo mining or for creating a mining pool that others can join for crowdfunding, group buys, investments, savings accounts, retirement funds, etc,..  etc,..  etc,..

Miningware hosted in a US location with 5.5¢ kw/h electricity

so when do you estimate this will launch? don't really want to bind coins into something which is to far off from providing any returns

Your TC is too low.  Minimum TC should be at 10240+. If i run anything under 10k i get HW errors.

I run my 10 270s @ TC 24k.  You need to add that setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 command.
Anything other than 8192 gives me error -61 and cgminer won't start. Even with the `setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100` added

if your using cmd, just run those commando first before starting cgminer

-> setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
-> setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
-> /path/to/cgminer.exe --scrypt -o {pool stuff} -u {username} -p {pass} --thread-concurrency 8192 --gpu-engine 925 -I 13

Sounds like the classic problem where you have forgotten to add the following commands to the bat-file:
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECT 1

Built two new machines with dual Powercolor 270x cards -- neither mines well AT ALL.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131532

Both systems crash all the time with GUIMiner and produce tons of hardware errors with CGMiner (probably 99% HW errors)... trying replicate any .bat or .conf files from others with single cards does not work at all.

Any ideas ?

I have 10 other systems running dual cards... but 7950 and 7970 -- all no problem... but can't get these R9 270x cards under control at all.

Can you post a copy of the launch commands you're using? It sounds like your intensity is too high, or the memory, core clock is too high.

I have stripped CGMINER all the way down to simply "-I 14" for flags and the GPUs at stock speeds -- speed is only in the low 300s and HW errors like crazy. Most people are adding large TC figures of ~15000+ but if I go over 8192 it simply errors out.

With GUIMiner I can run ~430 but the systems crash in ~30 minutes -- most people report 450-480 on the R9-270X is no problem.

Well my MSI 270 none X does 472 just fine without any HW issue. Any chance that you have forgotten to set the following command?:
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECT 1

That seems to have done the trick along with the flags from here :

http://dustin.io/2013/12/setting-up-litecoin-cgminer-with-latest-7970280x290x-hardware/

Each one is at ~430 at stock clocks -- so will see if it remains stable.

Thanks for the help.

glad it work out

Look at the head of the cabels, the two first allow you to use 1 PSU and splitt it so it can power 2 MB.

The third one does the opposite, it allows 2 PSU to be connected to 1 MB

Since it seems like you have experience with usage of riser, this might sound like a silly suggestion, but are you sure you have the 1-x riser plugged inn the correct way?
Try plugging it into one of the 1-x slots on the motherboard as it shouldn't be possible to plug it wrongly into that slot.

Btw, your post should probably have been posted under tech support.

Searing, I believe it was Augusto Croppo at page 12 wich posted indication of the releationship between cts and butterflyiabs. You claim that im highly offended, but i'd claim I'm beeing netrual while you are defensive. Have I posted any claims that anyone is a scammer? No, I have posted my thought on how evidence should be treated equal.

And Phoenix, my intention isn't to slow down any investigation, its quite the opposite. There is no need to defensivly reply to my post as I'm not posting any evidence.

Give the brothers time to track down the crooks and prove they have nothing to do with it.
And help them if you have some skill sets and talents to do so.
If you don't trust them, you can always ignore to business with them, but do not accused them without prove that won't stand.
Not guilty until proven guilty

The man is a bit hyperactive, nothing wrong with that.

I am not attacking anyone.

Thats more or less my points. If anyone wishes to post any evidence that indicate the brothers had or had nothing to do with it, it should be considered equal important.

F9FOF...
Exactly what "action" are you referring to then?

Allthought there were several indication of this beeing a scam such as the none-traceable so claimed CTS staff at social networks, in-house production at small plant, the connection between CTS webpage and butterflyiabs, not showing working prototype yet the delivery was suppost to be in early april. You and your brother decided to go ahead and spend a bunch of bitcoin before even calling CMS and inquire information about CTS. You display high intelligence, brag about your brothers work and ability, yet both of you acted against logic and what worse, defended them from any evidence which indicated that it was most likely a scam.

If you cant see why this doesn't raise concern, any further post from my side won't help.

Based on history is "Blind belief?"  ... whatever...  I guess if you went to ebay and saw a 5 star seller rating with a hundred customers that would mean nothing too? I've been Pete's research partner on a scientific project for a few years now...years; and I consider Pete one of my best friends, we talk like at least three or four times a week for hours at a time now for about 4 years I think. Maybe longer, but I don't expect you to know any of that, nor do I really want to discuss defending my own honor really, It kinda takes energy away from chasing the real criminals here...  the same folks that did the butterfly vopycat site scam. ug

If the recent trades were fishy I would raise concerns indeed. The fact that you two are close friends just make it more understandable that he would instantly back you up. The need to "defend your honor" is an natural consequence of your action. Note that I don't think post such as "trololol hes a scammer" is of any use, but for those that provide some sort of evidence that point any direction is of use, and should not be instantly diminished just because they point in a direction some may not like.

And to blindly believe a man word based on his history isnt exacly smart either. There are plenty of example of so called "trustworthy", "respectable" and "honest" that as gone rogue.

well then shoot my reputatoin too down while you are at it......

I vouch for Phoenix1969.....knc vouched for him when he helped them......

but than again I'm probably talking to /ignore after the 1st 2 lines

Vouch for him if you want to, but based on everything that has been posted I can understand why people are skeptical and should be allowed to raise their concerns without beeing instant shutdown.

Well might as well try it out, but dang the GUI of the official pool was a bit messy. So many numbers and so little information leaves me with some questions Tongue

What does the numbers under CRN estimates stand for and how is it related to the number under account information?
(Im guessing CRN estimates are for the current block which is worked on, while the acc information is the total reward of all blocks?)

What reward system does the pool?

Other than that, must say its a neat design.

Sounds like the issue is caused by overheating then. Would follow Aleks aadvice and try undervolting and find a stable setting where the temp is manageable and then eventually try increase the memory speed to obtain better hash rate.

88 degree is quite hot, and quite understandable that it crashes.
How is the airflow? is it in a closed cabin? if so try open the side window/panel and check the temp, if not try to lower the memclock down another 100

Might as well try at a lower memclock and work us upward, try changing it to:
"
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECT 1
cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://usa-1.liteguardian.com:3335 -u Sancho.1 -p x --intensity 13

--thread-concurrency 8192 --worksize 256 -d 0,1 -g 2 --gpu-memclock 1210

"
