CBDC are evil.
We have many concerns and risks that involves CBDCs and I would not call them "crypto" - they are just digital form of fiat money

Privacy concerns:
-CBDCs could compromise financial privacy as they would enable central banks to monitor transactions and track individuals spending patterns constantly 24/7 and than analyse it via AI so there's no freedom at all

Cybersecurity risks:
- CBDCs could be vulnerable to cyber attacks, which could lead to financial losses and instability, only bitcoin blockchain is 100% safe, other forms on internet can be hacked potentially so idk, 1 day you wake up and balance is 0

Reduced bank deposits:
- could lead to a reduction in bank deposits, which could affect the stability of the banking system

Programmable spending:
- CBDCs could enable governments to program spending, which could lead to restrictions on what people can buy and how much they can purchase. I mean, this is already happening with some apps, paypal is not far from this, Canada had protesters bank accounts blocked

I mean, when we speak about freedom already today without CBDC goverment can block your funds, imagine what can they do if they implement digital fiat money...
Anyway, CBDCs are all crypto is fighting against

Well I think this is a science fiction.
If they even decide to do it, they'll just over leverage supply of bitcoin because they will NOT buy spot btc.
What goverments and banks are doing, they add some kind of something like ETF, virtual and they claim it's usd, or shares or crypto but it's empty binary code without backing.
So, in any utopian scenario where a country would buy 1000 btc and pay some pensions, that would be nice but it's not realistic.

Benefits?
Well, bank or goverment cannot freeze your funds
The main benefit is freedom with potential of wealth increase if price goes up.

Never marry your bias. Yeah, at times in crypto Shorting can be very profitable.
But, when you do it for so long, when it starts to reverse, you won't even see it, trust me.
Soon, you have a bull run and you still try to short things and you could have long it but you are married to your bias.
Next thing you know, you are in denial phase, just trying to short while the price is going up, up3x, up5x and you still try to short.

So, be very careful, market works in both directions

I don't like paypal very much.
They can limit or close your account from no reason.
Support is not very good or friendly.

So, yeah, i won't use this definitely

One of my favourite altcoins is GALA.
Why?
Well, they have halving in the tokenomics, something like BTC invented so it gives less inflation in the eco system.
They have millions to promote.
They want to be Steam on blockchain.
They are in the gaming industry, one of the biggest industries in the world.
They have actual products that are working.
Their token is cheap at the moment.
They have big community of 2 millions people or maybe more.

Since Elon bought twitter, that app is 100x better.
I remember before, i never saw content i want, never got ads i want, doesn't matter who i follow, i had bunch of garbage and bots on my home feed!
After Elon bought twitter, i really see what i want to see, i get what i want.

I think he set long term goals because in my eyes that app is far better, bots are long gone, politics is not pushed on surface as before and content makers can now earn money from ads revenue. win-win

If you are a newbie, you don't need to know everything immediately. When i started, i was hacked, as many others.
Maybe it's not the best way but if you have under 1000$ in any crypto, i'd say to keep or buy them on binance/coinbase.
Why? Because those 2 are the most trusted, just turn on every 2FA they have and don't brag about it.

If you want more advanced security, find some tutorial how to make wallet safely, there are a lot of walkthroughs to do it.
I think other members explained everything so you should be good.

I would say, diversify.
I don't know where are you from but if your local currency is EUR, USD, GBP - you should be fine, if your country is.
The best plan would possibly be to split into 2 currencies (like euro and usd) and probably to keep some in stablecoins also. I would personally add a little bit of bitcoin, gold and silver. Maybe, invest some in stocks.

Anyway, make a plan, google, ask AI, watch youtube and diversify.
Split in like 20%-20%-20%-20%-20% and you should be SAFE.

Well, from personal experience, best way to invest is the legal way you have in your country through the exchange you have. So, OTC or any shady (if that's the question) is bad, you definitely need to make KYC and must buy through legal way for later eventual tax payment.

When is the best timing it's something else (if that's the topic). Usually, best time to invest in bitcoin is when everyone and everywhere are bearish - meaning, they are not optimistic, they are negative, there is a lot of negative news etc. There is also fear & greed index (google it), when it drops below 20, usually is the best time to buy.

So, yeah, if we keep it simple - buy when others are in fear and think everything will drop to zero.
But also before buying you need to set your goals straight, otherwise you will lose it eventually.
