Re: how strong is bitcoin really?
by
Fadri
on 30/08/2016, 14:59:36 UTC
The strength of bitcoin comes from its infrastructure.
Bitcoin has become a payment method in many online shops, like paypal or credit card.
That shows the economy has gained a certain trust in bitcoin.
There are exchange services and whole businesses developed around bitcoin.
Recently bitfinex was hacked, but it just scratched the price of bitcoin a little bit.
I say that bitcoin became strong in price and reliable as a payment method.
Strongly agree, bitcoin has strong foundation and keep growing every year. Good as online currency that has been used worldwide, and will continue expand in every country.

Re: BTC price pretty much flat for the past few weeks. Permanent?

what i think is that this is another calm before the storm, we will see a pump pretty soon, unless another shitty exchange is hacked lol, you should not be worried about those stagnation imho

I think it is better for bitcoins to remain stable at the current price near 600$.  This will give more trust to the investors in bitcoin and more people will be attractive towards it.
If the price remains stable and does not fall back, after sometime the price will automatically boost.

yes but i think it's better if bitcoin increase so miners can earn more and diff increase, this mean that network will be more secure, if we can increase slowly is better than being stable
I think so, better have increase time after time than being stable. Even if the price decrease again during all the process that must be passed, bitcoin will rise with respect to the advantages offered. I think bitcoin price will increase by the end of the year, about $600 will be good.

Re: Do you consider trading as gambling?
by
Fadri

I see no difference between trading and gambling. I think the only difference is the time frame. In gambling, you can get your results in an instant. While in trading, you can wait for days/weeks before you sell your coin. The instant of you selling your coins in trading will decide if you get profit and how much or you get less than what you've invested. Nevertheless, trading would always be better than gambling because you can do tons of research first about a coin before you invest on it.
I see somehow there is a similarity in trading and gambling because there are gambling games can be studied or research to gain some knowledge that can be useful for you to get the advantage, and I am saying sports betting gives you that opportunity. In addition, sports betting provide a leverage for the bettors to do sports arbitrage which has no risk which will guarantee you a win everytime.

We can consider trading as gambling since the complexity of trading that so hard to predict, as the result we can get profits or loss our capital. I agree that in gambling you can do some research first before betting, like in sports betting. It provide better chance to win, not only depend on luck but we can look at the history, condition and guess which one will win.

Re: Where u use bitcoins?

i don't use bitcoin at all. I try to keep it and wait for its price to go up and then i sell it to get some profit. That is because in my country the government does not accept bitcoin as a currency and it is still illegal to use bitcoin right now to buy food, etc. So my only choice is to hold them in my wallet

I don't think that bitcoin is illegal in most of the countries, even if its not getting support from Government that doesn't makes it illegal, if you can easily convert it to your local currency then everything is fine.
That's good information, I ever think that way. just don't put all of your btc in one wallet. Be aware of the security and getting hacked, unless you don't have much btc, but even a little it still worthy, right.
I agree that bitcoin not so famous and the result, not many countries recognize it, doesn't mean it's illegal. We can convert bitcoin into local currency, but do it with someone trusted, do some research first and look at the person transaction history.

Re: People hate Bitcoins?
by
Fadri
on 16/08/2016, 09:13:22 UTC
People only hate it because they dont have enough data about it or have bad experience with bitcoins and they just are desperate to understand real benefits of bitcoins.

I don't think people hate bitcoins, because at these present days most people of the world still does not know about bitcoin, and people can't hate what they do not know. However I think there are many persons that know about bitcoin and still are distrustful about it.
That is what's holding back investors. They are very aware and knowledgeable about bitcoins but the reason they are not investing is that there is some quite of price fluctuations issue because bitcoin can be very unpredictable at most of the time with it's price, but being a long term investor, I need not to worry about fluctuations.
Yeah, some reason that made bitcoin not so famous because its volatile to get hacked and the value fluctuate. So many people or company not trust to invest on bitcoin because its not stable yet. Just like when bitflixnet get hacked and the price of bitcoin fall, the matter of secure. People need guarantee of security or at least the currency already stable.

Re: Bitcoin is virtual currency for criminal
by
Fadri
on 16/08/2016, 08:26:38 UTC
Criminals use more dollars than bitcoins. The currency can't help being used by criminals.

How can you know that? if ever there was a survey that happened. Because I do not think anyone knows for sure criminals, more use dollars or bitcoin. But I think because the dollar is better known, the majority of criminal use this currency. IMO

But I agree if the currency can not be considered criminal. Because currency only objects used by criminals and money should not be blamed.
well it's easy to know, from when dollar was created compared to bitcoin, and if you look back, there's so many drugs lord before bitcoin was created,so they'll definitely using dollar to do an international transaction, that's enough to give you reference that dollar is even worse than bitcoin
We can't blame it to some kind of currency, people worldwide using dollar in their life because it so famous just like euro and pounds sterling.
Criminals and police could use dollars or another currency as they want, for something bad or good, same thing as bitcoin. But bitcoin has advantage to used by criminals due to it's anonymous and fast transaction.

Re: Gambling. Is It Wrong?
by
Fadri
on 16/08/2016, 04:01:32 UTC
i think gambling is a funny way to pass the time for more rich persons . small amoumt holding person usually lossing their money instead of getting .
i remembred that time when i have lost my faucet collection at freebitco.in about 0.001btc .

Yes it is just going to be a good way to surpass your boredom. Gambling is just going to be wrong if you are not going to know your limitations. And you are not setting your priorities as you gamble, you are forgetting the main things that you need to do first before you are going to gamble. That is really wrong.
Every person has reason to gambling, mostly want to get profits or just give it a shot whether to win or loss.
I agree that gambling is fun if you bet not to much, if lose to much than you can afford its not fun anymore.

Trading with good analysis, speculation or good experience is partially trading, but trading with pure luck or no experience is pure gambling
Then what is "complete" trading?
But I agree, when you are allowing your luck to play a role in your trading then your trading will change into the mode of gambling. But most of the time, the highly volatile commodity trading are simply equavalent into gambling. Because most of the traders are going only with the 50% of their skill and experience and for the remaining they are depending on their luck.

thats true, trading is really risky even for the professionals so if you dont want losing your bitcoins then just dont do any trading i guess as it is like gambling
Trading is better but it has risk and even investment is risky also. For a person to earn money he also needs to risk and not just risking but also need to exert effort to study the investment he wants to venture. Meanwhile, trading can be learn and you can improve your skills but gambling cannot because its shady.
Trading and gambling has a common similarity as high risk to lose your capital and both could be won by knowledge, experiences, skill and wisely choose what kind of gambling you want to play. I agree that trading without knowledge, experiences, skill and just depend on lucky guess is a gambling.

Re: Getting people to use Bitcoin- ideas
by
Fadri
on 10/08/2016, 19:48:16 UTC
I like the idea , but using Facebook is probably what will make this idea fail.
There is no active Bitcoin pages in Facebook , not even one as far as I know . It would be better If you buy "whybitcoin.info" or "whybitcoin.net" domains (they are available : https://www.godaddy.com/domains/searchresults.aspx?checkAvail=1&tmskey=&domainToCheck=whybitcoin.info )  and make a simple website layout or use Jekyll instead.

Having a website in addition to the Facebok page is a great idea! I should definitely consider making one

However, the best and most efficient way to get someone interested in something is trough Facebook. Everybody is on social networks nowadays and has his attention there.
Yes, for get started explain to people using facebook is a great idea, because usually a person open the facebook more than once daily. It would be famous as much as we share and create more memes here about how many advantages bitcoin has, just like compare transaction with regular banks and people easier to understand it. Good job, we should share.

Re: What is your reason to gamble? Fun or profit?
by
Fadri
on 09/08/2016, 19:29:40 UTC
Do you gamble for fun or for profit?

90% fun, 10% profit.
From the point the % of fun goes under 40%, I think that gambling becomes a sickness or obsession.

Don't you think that there is more fun in gambling when you win your bets ?? And i believe that people play it for profit and when they win they enjoy gambling. If you loose then there is no fun in gambling Agree ??

Definitely profit is the only reason to put money on risk, otherwise it doesn't make any sense to me how can a looser can have fun with gambling, the winning moment is very precious for me and it make me feel so nice, so that I'm agreed with you.

Most likely for profit in the beginning, everyone expect to get more and more profit. But, don’t take it too seriously, or gambling will ruin your life, just have some fun in gambling with your friends. Whether win or lose in gambling I still enjoy it, because never bet too much. Just for fun, if lucky could get profit.

Re: Worst mistake in gambling
by
Fadri
on 03/08/2016, 12:41:16 UTC
Well worst mistake would be to invest too much time and resource to gambling. Let's face it gambling is a game of chance, there's no guarantee in gambling so making  a bet that would either make or break you financially and emotionally would be a very big mistake
Something we all regret. I also never gave any importance to my studies as a student due to gambling ( non btc ) and now regret why i did so. Anyways I have a settled life so yeah when I look back, I feel that was my biggest mistake.
Non technical gambling mistakes we can say such as what you stated.
For a worker it is interfere your work , for a student it is make you looks not smart because gambling is wasting time.
Regret why you did not take study seriously.
Worst mistake to get involve in gambling, put some funds and then it gone.
gambling have high risk since it design to make you lose money and much time.

Re: What would you say to people who advice you to sell all your bitcoin?
by
Fadri
on 02/08/2016, 17:32:19 UTC
I just say to those people that it is my asset ( investment ) which I am holding and waiting for the price skyrockets. I will not sell my funds I am holding till the price goes upto $1000 or more.
When the price of bitcoin reached to $450 from $380 within a week then there were some people who started to say that sell all of your coins as according to them it is the highest peak and after that the price will go down deeper, at that time I ignored theirnews and now I am saying to them that yousold all of your coins while I doubled my money with bitcoin from $380 to $660.
The price of bitcoin growing pretty good year after year, there’s would be decrease of course, but price of btc will continue to increase, you can convert it some for buy something but to keep saving is the good investment, I agree with “sell it when the price $1000 or more”.

Re: WORST decision about BTC
by
Fadri
on 02/08/2016, 15:53:03 UTC
Hi, all. I know that everyone here would have made some terrible decision about BTC. So I was wondering, what is the worst decision that you have ever made.

Personally, my worst decision was gambling 1.3 BTC in dice, just yesterday. Smiley

Im sorry for your loss but what you were expecting gambling bitcoins against the house? This should be a lesson for some people, stay away from those, the potencial rewards arent worthing the huge risk associated at it. My worse mistake at bitcoin were to had to sold last year, i could had made 2x the money i made if i just hold it for a bit more.
Well, everybody had their bad decision, but your experiences are valuable information for us as beginner.
So we know about decision for BTC that we earn, just like “do not put all eggs in one basket”
Quote that always remind you to be careful and have back up plan,
Thanks for share your experience.
