Think when BTC price goes down, won't be able to buy MINT at 1 satoshi. Right now may be good opportunity? Not much holding the price down. Things could get interesting  Shocked

And just for reference, $360 in hash power gets me this daily without electricity cost...

Yes, but for how many days? It's not indefinitely. I used to be miner, and do all the calculations. I have a spreadsheet I used to calculate with; it has all the variables to break it down over time. I haven't taken a comparison lately though. Makes me curious. Looks like you're renting the hashpower? How long (how many hours) total were you able to rent it for at that hashrate? Just a rough estimate, but you need to mine back somewhere in the neighborhood of 0.27 BTC just to break even.

I never mined MINT either. The reason I got into it was as a mining replacement. So far I must say it is doing quite nicely. It is basically identical in my mind to mining. You are guaranteed 5% if you have any sizeable balance. Throw down 1 BTC and generate 0.05 BTC per year, assuming stable exchange rate. Exchange rate always fluctuate depending on market sentiment and other coins pumping or dumping so that's impossible to know how it will be in a year and where equilibrium is on the exchange rate, I'm not sure. The difference between minting and mining is those who are miners need to do transactions with their coins in order to reinvest in mining gear to keep up with difficulty. With minting you don't need to do transactions by trading your coins in order to keep your minting up. With MINT, the Sellers are actually selling minting power. Mintcoin is all about buying and selling minting power. I think it is a great idea. Maybe others don't. I have been wondering about wallet updates, how are they progressing?

What do you guys think of the market activity, and prices lately? I know BTC has been on the rise and has been pulling the USD value of MINT up along with it. As a result, MINT is somewhere between 2-3 satoshis but this is a very big spread, so it is difficult for price discovery. It basically means we have to use LTC or DOGE to test the waters. But it's not like there are tons of coins on the exchanges anyway, so the prices could really go any direction quite easily.

I was going ask the same thing. I can't check on it ATM busy at work.
Cryptopia won't allow MINT withdrawals...

Anyone know what's going on?

Cryptopia has just migrated to a new data centre.  Give them some time to get all their wallets back up.

Has this withdrawal issue been resolved?

Could use a different coin that's 20x faster and 20x cheaper like MINT. I think the problem is trying to make Bitcoin all things to all people. Trying to do everything is impossible for any 1 currency to do.

Thanks for many of your replies, this is especially helping me understand the security better.

For clarification, I am talking about 100 trillion private keys NOT addresses.

Why is is there a cap or limit on the number of coins you can send in 1 transaction? Isn't this a bad limitation? Like you can't just move 100m coins or $4000  or more of value without breaking the transaction up into several transactions?

The absolute maximum "number" of coins allowed in a single transaction is 70 billion. However, there are transaction and block size limits that govern how much data can be included in each transaction and block.  If you're having trouble sending a large amount, it is almost certainly due to these size limits and not the arbitrary hard cap.

Okay. Are those transaction and block size limits the ones based on average block sizes, so they can change over time? I remember reading something with related to bitcoin about something like there is a limit based on the average transaction size or something.

Private keys cant get common at all .it has a specific algorithm and it has probability to zero .it is not a bug of bitcoins wallet .it generates at a high pace with accuracy because it is a machine .and the wallet can get hacked and i dont think u can get it back because its untraceable .

I don't think you understand my questions. And looking for a non-newbie to answer them. (No offense)

Has this ever happened before?

Follow-up questions:
If there becomes 100 trillion wallets in use, do you think finding a wallet with a balance will become common? Is the current private key secure enough to last 10,000+ years?

Is there a way to scale up the security of the generated private keys somehow if needed someday?

Success means we've got a long road ahead of us.  And either we have the fuel of originality, passion, vision, purpose, and love, or we have the rather lame motivator of money.  Which do you think will last longer in that race? Stamina is utterly important. And stamina is only possible if managed well.  MINT community has this right focus and direction. Confidence thrives on honesty. These days it's hard to earn anyone's attention with bigger bolder ads or splashier banners. Nobody truly cares. Diligence is the way of wealth. Fundamentals for minting Mintcoin is solid. The reality is, the MINT network has been producing tens of thousands of dollars worth of value per year, and still is. The day to day crypto value is always in flux. Prices can easily swing in other directions and I've seen it happen before. Price could go up more or it could go down more too. Mintcoin minting to me is like a business, if every year, I mint more coins and increase my market share then it is only a matter of time until the dilligence pays off. A faithful man dilligent in his business will stand on high, but he who is hasty to be rich will not be innocent from the consequences that come with that. Wealth gotten by honest gain is a gained by production, and producing things. This follows with the natural laws of nature and is typically a slower process that takes time to build. But once you achieve it, it is more stable sustainable, and cannot easily be moved or shaken. Producing MINTs is a production activity. When the markets do move in your favor, you will then see it and understand and you will have so much more and lasting value than others.

Everything is a gamble. Everything you do is a function of perceived risk, vs perceived reward. The things that go into the equation are your level of skill and ability can lower the risk.  Getting in a car and driving is a gamble. But most people would consider the risk so low the reward for using a car far outweigh the risk.

Mintcoin . Get 5% per year additional coins if you mint for a year. You only need about 500,000 coins to get started currently a value of about $15usd.
