Кто-то продал несколько десятков тысяч биткоинов после стабильного подъёма уже неделю или две. Стены способной удержать курс низким как не было, так и теперь нет. Сейчас курс стабильно пошёл вверх.

Печалька. Но не критично. Буду ждать.

If I understood the whole announcement about Guild Wars 2 prepurchase correctly, to have 3 day headstart you have to buy from Ncsoft. Prepurchases from retailers will only have 1 day headstart.
The game will probably appear on steam eventually. GW1 did.
Ncsoft accepts credit cards and paypal... So if you don't like either one of those choices, some kind of prepaid visa virtual or something might work. In my case ncsoft charges in euros... Which is a bummer because I don't live in euro-zone and don't enjoy the benefits of high EU taxes(or whatever the reason they price games this high) to pay such a substantial price premium. Don't know how prepurchase will work yet but I am pessimistic. Damn you ncsoft.

I had the same problem. If I uncheck one of cores from cpu affinity on solo mining  hashrate drops about 30% with -f 1 and goes into khashes/second with -f 60.
And poclbm.exe eats up about 60-70% of the CPU either way.

На сколько я понимаю, у метабанка есть резервное количество биткоинов на гоксе. После первого подтверждения эквивалентная сумма обменивается на гоксе, а переведённая сумма сразу(после 6ти подтверждений+необходимое количество подтверждений на гоксе) или потом переводится на гокс.

Paxum - не биржа, а платёжная система вроде Paypal. Большое количество денег с TradeHill выводилось на Paxum, и поэтому, когда Paxum закрыл счета ассоциированные с биткоином, биржа закрылась. Угрозы для гокса и остальных вроде бы нет.

Альтернативы доллару нет только потому, что его всемирно принимают для как валюту для оплаты. Такой закон эту функцию убивает. Никто не будет пользоваться долларом, если это автоматически делает лицо налогоплательщиком США.

Even if someone found out your login from the leak in june and used this knowledge to find out your password from some another service it's your fault you didn't create new account.
MtGox safety is limited to obvious bruteforce attempts, user database protection, their wallet protection and small stuff to keep the data you entrusted them from getting out. They reacted fast during the last crysis and limited the damage.
Everything else is entirely YOUR fault.

Why? If you run VM it may be possible to read VM ram from outside. + Vmware has a suspend mode when it saves ram on HDD. Like hibernate on windows.

As I imagine "Perfect bitcoin wall", linux is a good choice. By linux I understand bare minimum for console bitcoin client.
Linux core + bare minimum to run bitcoin + firewall that blocks everything except bitcoin client. LiveCD or USB boot, or VM(heavily encrypted HD image, encrypt ram if possible).
Password to log in, pin for every action with bitcoin.
Couple of scripts:
Send N bitcoins to hardcoded spending wallet(password to change spending wallet address)
Move bitcoins to a new wallet. Maybe send bitcoins to the same wallet but new address(will it work and do the trick?)
Maybe simple unicode GUI.

Almost impenetrable by conventional means. Especially if done without VM.
