If there are any Clam developers, then it is their place to speak about any blockchain issues.  If there are not any Clam developers who can fill that role, then any blockchain issue is difficult to resolve, no?

Completely separate to those matters:  someone carried out a suspicious market pattern on Clams (that is, this large pump and dump), and they used Polo as the platform to do it.  I am not surprised if the aftermath includes some amount of delay and background investigation of the asset in question.  That is a danger inherent to trading something with this risk profile.

Lending rates for Clam at poloniex currently around 0.8% daily..  Roll Eyes
Plus a single whale (not even a big one!) in this tiny market pairing, can instantly drop the value of Clams by 70% (like occurred the other day), or by any amount.

When they are ready, and all their ducks are in a row (as the saying goes).  When their Lending profit peaks out.  When their mega-Shorts are ready to trigger.

The recent chart should be a clear indication to all traders, about the risk factor involved in over-staking here.

It's not just the fees.

Their method of using odd and varied numbers of decimal points for different pairs, means that every account ends up with loads of unspendable and unwithdrawable dust.

Every single account ever used for trading diverse pairs on that exchange, has probably left behind an average of $5-10 (guessing, based on my own old account there from years ago) of untradeable and unrecoverable dust.

A factor of at least 10x (probably more like 100x) dust generation compared to other exchanges.

So who was responsible for the clam scam PnD?  As if trade a coin that's only on one real exchange, one which has Margin trading.  That's just asking to get taken for a massive ride by any random smallwhale that cares to play with you all.  Nothing prevents this happening again.

Hi Graham. I read your article about organisational structures and social groups.  It was interesting.  I can't call my passage a brisk canter, more of a wandering trot.

One method of growing a small organisation is to innovate.  AKA meritocracy.

Another method is to somehow tether (excuse the unintended pun) it to a larger organisation, e.g. symbiotic, or parasitic.

I like the concept that the ideal crypto project is a highly functional collective intelligence.

I'm interested in your work and the conversation.

I'll post notes on further progress as and when I manage to make any, assuming no-one else figures it out in the interim.

As far as I'm concerned, the answer to "Exactly how much dicking about with the Bitcoin codebase do you think is actually needed to support your clone?" is ... "As little as possible."

I'll throw this is in, in case I haven't mentioned it before: A different perspective on cryptocurrency, with the challenge - if I do manage to upgrade Deepcoin to Core 0.16 - what comes after that?

Cheers

Graham

I think no matter how much effort would be put into explaining to you what is deeponion you would still be like that. Its good to criticize someone or something but this can all be done in a nice way no need to be calling someone uneducated words

That's of such massive relevance, a123canz999888, and as such, it's extreme pertinence to this thread is eminently applicable.

Please tell me the first contract will be called DIP.

Most readers will get Chips and Dip.

Or Chips and salsa.

Maybe even Fish and Chips

Barbeque chips, ruffled chips, gluten free chips

Ok, im putting down the beer.. Mmmm chips

Would you like fries with that supercontinent?

We are making good progress on the blockchain enforced contracts, which is required for a blockchain enforced poker.

the CHIPS realtime p2p code is already working, so once we get the blockchain enforced contracts ready we can pull together a system that works either in realtime with MofN multisig approvals or invokes a blockchain enforced payout vector.

really, it is all quite technical and 99.9% of readers here wont understand so I am not posting much details about it here.

tl:dr: the goal is still to get a working realtime decentralized poker using CHIPS, KMD and PANGEA chains all coordinated with a realtime p2p betting.

tl:dr of tl:dr: CHIPS is good

Talk about a killer application.  Pretty cool.  The tech outline you gave makes sense, I think.
 Thanks for the update.

Really looking forward to seeing it all come together.

How I do this properly?

By posting in the Civic thread? Smiley

And then buying some CHIPS.  Smiley

Not necessarily in that order.

Long time no talk in this thread Smiley

Correct, this indicate that  jl777B is working hard on this project and does not have time to write here something about it.  Smiley

I'll bet!

If there's any way the community can help just let us know.

How goes the project?

Was there any luck getting any discussions going with upcoming exchanges?

There is obviously little point going after the top tier exchanges as they moved a long way out of everybody's reach many months ago.  The billionaires don't care to talk to the mere thousandaires.

The good thing is there is a surge of new startup exchanges, to meet the needs of the crypto projects that don't have millions just to list.  Some of these startups have shown by their behaviour to date that they are poor prospects.  Others seem quite promising.

It would be nice to be able to designate a community member as an official exchange listings representative. I am just to busy to be corresponding back and forth with exchanges

if you are up for this, contact me

If you want a good writer who can formalise your communications, I can help.  But it would still need your close direction in the end.  I have no contacts at exchanges, and possess only the most casual technical knowledge about CHIPS.

Didn't you create Komodo, jl777? - which is listed on many big exchanges.

Due to that, I assumed (no doubt wrongly) that you would already have contact with many exchanges, who should be interested in all your future projects including CHIPS.

Personally I think CHIPS is pretty cool.
sure they are all happy to get paid $100,000 to list another coin.
the exchanges make money for listing, it is part of their business model to make sure they can pay the rent even if nobody uses their exchange

to be fair, there are some exchanges that will list coins based on non-financial subsidy aspects, just the well established ones are maximizing their profits. which is their right, and they use it

Indeed, I can't imagine any popular centralised exchange being anything other than expensive to list at, these days.

Therefore the aim may be for a "cheap good" option, aka reasonably priced (which is still going to be relatively expensive!) non top tier exchange which is up and coming (consistently increasing in volume).   I am not knowledgeable to name such a one off top of my head.  But I think those may be a balanced criteria to follow.

A good project must more than make the listing money back (else why is anyone else bothering?!), and this project has the fundamentals to be popular.  And with that popularity would come the financials to afford further listings.

Well, all good in theory.  I'm not the one offering the listing money, obviously.

Decentralised exchanges like BarterDEX (while still at the small volume stage, so far) are an option too.

There has been a large resurgence in exchanges in recent months.  There are quite a lot now.  Smiley

We should get Deepcoin on one of the upcoming exchanges like stocks.exchange or similar.

This is one of the higher ranking threads in page views in this whole altcoin subforum, relatively speaking. Did you know that?  Have a look.   By that metric and many others, every other project and a whole lot below us, are all listed on multiple exchanges.

This needs to be rectified.  They don't call it Deepcoin for nothing.  Smiley
