If BTC gets globally accepted as a payment method, it is hardly unlikely that anything will replace it in a couple of decades time period. Think about it. No matter what revolutionary, new technology they invent, it will again have to go through everything that BTC's been through. So, no matter what happens, it will be a far in the future and who knows if any of us will live to see it. I am more eager in seeing BTC's new possibilities and ways of using it.

We have to be aware that we will not last forever as well and I firmly believe that BTC will outlive a lot of us. At the given moment, BTC is the best that block chain as a newest technology has to offer.

No. If you ask for an opinion, my answer is no. It will not drop to zero, it will not cease to exist. You are loosing to opportunity to participate in something great. Lack of support makes the recuperation of BTC only slower, but I don't think that it will effect its existence in the long run.

I agree with most of the things written here. BTC needs better support system, there is no lack in the product. If the situation continues and if the support drops even more, something will probably drastically change. BTC is not the same without its support system and its community.

Exactly! It seems like we have really short term memory without any recollection of the short history of BTC and all previous situations when the drop occurred. It seems like the old investors left or there are out there and not getting involved in these conversations. And it seems that new investors haven't done their homework and inform themselves about enormous volatility and fluctuation of the market.

Because it is completely new thing. Someone came and said put your cash and we will give you a string of digits and letters that you will hold in virtual wallet and that will be your money. All historical crashes had taught us to be sceptic and I don't blame anyone for being sceptic. Think about it. What if some day someone crashes everything, then what? It is new, it is unknown and it has nothing to do with everything that we have known so far. BTC is only 10 years old.

I agree, but I agree with the title of the topic as well. That is why I believe in a portfolio and that is something that we should all take seriously. Divide your money, play safe with part of it and take the second half to a good idea that is worth to be supported. My vote and money goes to ETH as a next year's boom. Also, XRP is a good option for quick exchange actions if you are up to something like that. And the new project I am currently monitoring is BTCN. This is a great project with great team and idea for you to get to know with. The developing team seems extremely committed to the project for now, which is important when you are making your decision about the new unknown project. Also, BTCN reached CMC in no time and its community is extremely active.
