I think this will never happen. I do not even want to think about it. Blockchain is the future. Because economically literate and generally some of the most developed countries, such as Japan and Switzerland, are not what they blocked, but on the contrary, they supported and actively develop crypto-currencies !!!

Of course it's legal. Like any other type of activity, it can be used for good deeds and not. It's not recognized as legal, those to whom it is uncomfortable. It's like "fighting terrorism") If you understand what I mean))) They all agreed, we just need to pretend that someone is struggling with something to continue to master the state budget.

Re: [2018-07-11] Regulation is Why The US is Losing The Crypto War
by
Goozzi
on 12/07/2018, 11:09:27 UTC
Regulator relations with crypto-currencies in America have always been difficult. In the US tax on cryptocurrencies was earlier. True, it was actually income tax. Since 2014, holders of cryptocurrencies have been required to pay capital gains tax only after exchanging their bitcoins for fiat money. However, in 2013-2015, taxes from bitcoin operations were paid by only one thousand people. The tax authorities even started the case on the cryptoexchange Coinbase, demanding the issuance of a database of owners of bitcoins.
Now this order extends absolutely to all operations with cryptocurrencies. The tax will have to be paid even if the investor wants to change bitcoin on ether (or any other crypto currency). If the crypto currency is simply stored for less than a year, then it falls under the standard personal income tax with a progressive scale of 10% to 37%. If more than a year, then there is already a tax on long-term capital growth with a rate of up to 24%.And from the beginning of this year, all "exchange-like operations" will be taxed.
As a result of these measures, the US clearly loses to countries such as Switzerland and Malta, where the laws regarding crypto currency are much softer.

Re: Crypto and Switzerland

Unlike most countries in Switzerland, everything is very good. I read an interview of one influential Swiss, and so he said that there is only one type of crypto-investors for them - regretting that they did not invest in "blockchain" in a much larger volume. This is understandable because most Swiss people - very rich people (millionaires or billionaires) and crypto currency for them - is a very good way to invest available capital in an asset that is quite worthy to take a place in the investment portfolio.
Also in Switzerland there are several leading firms and banks using bitcoins to close small transactions in countries using cryptocurrency, mainly in Asia.
In addition the Swiss southern city of Chiasso, located on the border with Italy, will accept tax payments in bitcoins.
Definitely Switzerland is one of the leaders in Crypto and this is only a small part of those areas where they uses cryptocurrency.

Now EOS have some problem. It has been suggested that some block manufacturers intentionally refuse to change the configuration of the nodes and increase the RAM limit to 64 GB. However, it was later found out that the reason was an error when setting the base parameters of the producing node. And June 16 in the EOS network was recorded freezing of transactions(((
Looking at all this I am very glad that I sold it then at the peak, although at that time he was predicted further growth. Re-buy it only in case if there will be a steady growth again.

Eos is more decentralized than Bitcoin. Btc is mostly owned by bitmains mining farm almost 51 percent of the network.

Go vote for your favorite block producer or be a block producer. It's very democratic. Not even antpool/bitmain can over take the eos network

Not for the other day China has released the second edition of its state-endorsed cryptocurrency and Blockchain ratings, placing Chinese altcoin EOS top of the list and Bitcoin 17th.

I advise you to look at the Stellar (XLM). According to some reports, Stellar ready to launch its own decentralized trading platform known as SDEX in the next month, and they have plans to make changes to the core protocol. This decision to modify the protocol would change the way in which buy and sell orders are carried out on Stellar-based trading platforms.
Currently, users are able to create offers of multiple ‘shadow,’ something that adds up more than the holdings on a specific wallet. But ultimately, these offers can vanish, something that could result in possible manipulation of order books.
Other important cryptocurrency exchanges have been creating ‘fake’ sell and buy walls, but they require the user to hold the exact amount of the currency they are operating in order to place these ‘fake’ offers. In this way, users are not able to sell or bid with bigger amounts than what they have deposited in their wallets.
With this update to the Stellar protocol, users will be able to buy and/or sell the exact amount of currencies that they have in their wallets. It is not possible to increase that number. In this way, the new platform will be working more like a decentralized trading exchange.
The exchange will have a functionality known as ‘liabilities,’ which will be examining outbound and inbound liabilities. This would prevent further manipulation of the order book and accounts proposing to sell or buy more than what they have in their wallets.
These measures may see very small for some participants, but they are a very strong signal from the Stellar Development Foundation on how the are taking the project on their shoulders They want to give a boost to liquidity with their trading platform and protocol in the coming months.
Moreover, it is possible to see an XLM currency with green light to start trading in New York after the approval of financial regulations.

Trade War Fears Between China And U.S Boosts Crypto Market
Crypto market gains $16 billion today as economic fears over an imminent trade war between global superpowers US and China, drives investors towards decentralized assets.
US President Donald Trump’s latest response to levy a further tariff on a further $200 billion worth of Chinese imports, has created widespread fears of an imminent trade war. The escalation between Washington DC and Beijing’s tit-for-tat tariff war has been triggering widespread uncertainty throughout both nation’s financial markets, with the Nasdaq COMP index, S&P-500, Shanghai Composite and  Nikkei 225 index all suffering losses today.
“The trade relationship between the United States and China must be much more equitable,” President Trump said. “The United States will no longer be taken advantage of on trade by China and other countries in the world.”
This political posturing sparked off last week when President Trump decidedly slapped a trade tariff on $50 billion worth of Chinese imports, in a bid to compensate the United States for what he believed to be years of alleged Chinese intellectual property theft. The far east responded in kind and threatened to place a like-for-like tariff on all US imports into China unless the new punitive tariff was removed. In an attempt to strong arm the opposition, President Trump fought back by asking U.S. Trade Representative Robert E. Lighthizer, to draw up a list of $200 billion worth of Chinese products that they can attach a further tariff to, including an additional $200 billion worth if China retaliates.
Overall the potential tariff charges could hit $450 billion worth of Chinese products entering into the US, which is likely to spill over into the working classes and create havoc for the citizens of both economies.
Meanwhile amidst this trade war, the geo-political unrest has directed a surge of capital back into the global crypto market, as individuals on both sides of the pacific withdraw into decentralized virtual assets to protect their interests. The global market capital has enjoyed a $16 billion increase in the last 24hrs and is looking promising to retrace back towards $300 billion, as US and Chinese stock market FUD increases.
On the Bitfinex exchange, BTC/USD trading pair is currently accounting for nearly 5% of all Bitcoin trades today, as investors buy into BTC to hedge against the falling US dollar market.
It’s likely that as this war continues between the two superpowers, smart investors will seek to leverage this opportunity to make profits; taking advantage of fact that both the traditional financial market and the crypto market operate on completely separately plains. This means that the crypto market could continue to improve as tensions rise and international trade concerns deepen, lifting the digital assets out of a long bearish period.

U.K.-based cryptocurrency futures trading platform Crypto Facilities is launching a litecoin (LTC) derivative product.
According to an announcement on Wednesday, the new U.S. dollar-denominated service will go live on Friday, June 22, and will allow investors to long or short futures contracts that have litecoin as the underlying collateral, with weekly, monthly and quarterly maturities.
Litecoin creator Charlie Lee commented in the announcement that, by opening up litecoin trading to more institutional investors, the new product would increase the cryptocurrency's liquidity and "make it easier for people to get in and out of litecoin."

There are a lot of news coming from NANO team:

-the other day in the blog blockchain startup Nano appeared an announcement, according to which the company will have its own full cryptowallet. Already this week, Nano developers promise to release a version of the wallet for the Android operating system, as well as a desktop version of the application. New software from the company Nano will be completely open source. Previously, only beta versions of wallets for systems such as iOS, Android, Windows, MacOS and Linux were available on the official website of the blockbuster start-up

-previously, the team of the blockchain startup on its Twitter page announced a new version of the node software, which improved the synchronization with the network, improved the process of downloading the application, and reduced network load

-also at the beginning of the week, Nano developers via Twitter announced the successful completion of work on the integration of the digital currency Nano (NANO) with the hardware wallet Ledger Nano S

-meanwhile, in late May, the founder of the Nano blockhead start-up, Colin Le Makhie, announced the release of the Nano Universal Block Canary solution

-and in March of this year, the team of the blockchain-startup Nano announced the launch of a convenient service for the exchange of Nano's crypto currency called Localnano.

Good news background plus a good team. I'll buy it myself and advise everyone to look at it

Following the Block Producers [BP] elections, the EOS Mainnet faced a technical glitch on 16th June due to which the Mainnet was halted. The entire community was asked to shut down all the nodes and downgrade to version 1.0.3. All the BPs, along with the Block. One team worked on this issue and has been providing constant updates on their progress.
One of the Telegram Channels named “Mainnet Status” also broadcasted all the instant updates regarding the same. The team also mentioned that the root cause of the issue was due to how deferred transactions were handled.

Following are the steps taken by the team to fix the issue:
A nodeos fix will be released
The block producer nodes will be upgraded
Blocks will be replayed until last irreversible block
Block producers will sync to each other
Chain will be opened up for mainnet and has been upgraded to version 1.0.5, without losing any data on the blockchain.
The fix was released by Block. One on GitHub and has been verified by the Block Producers and Standby nodes. At 14:48 UTC, the blockchain went live and the firm released a statement which summarized the entire bug fixing process. The statement was published in English, Chinese and Korean by the Block Producers.

Something in eos lately has a lot of bugs and errors. It seems to me that the price has fallen so strongly against this background. Maybe early launched their network?

Re: Future of Waves, Lisk, etc., after ICX, WanChain and TAU
by

on 23/06/2018, 07:52:04 UTC
Today I returned from the summer forest camp and on the page of the company ION ICON saw a message according to which in the near future the process of exchange of digital tokens ICX ERC20 to the crypto currency of the MainNet network will be launched. At the moment, such exchanges as Binance, Upbit and Bithump, as well as the ICONex currency purse expressed in support of the exchange.
Thus, ICON network will exchange ICX ERC20 tokens for ICX coins of the main network in the ratio 1: 1. To successfully complete the exchange, users need to deposit their digital currency on the platform in time to:

Binance: June 20, 2018 (09:00, UTC + 9)
Upbit: June 20, 2018 (22:00, UTC + 9)
Bithumb: June 21, 2018 (time to be announced soon)
ICONex: June 25 (13:00, UTC + 9)

Does anyone know what to do to those who have left the ICX to lie on other exchanges (hitbtc, huobi for example)? And whether it is necessary to do something at all?

Fundstrat’s Thomas Lee: Weakness in Bitcoin Is Caused by Futures Expiration.

According to Fundstrat head of research Thomas Lee, the recent decline in Bitcoin (BTC) price is likely the result of the expiration of Bitcoin futures, Bloomberg reports June 14.

In a report, Lee explained that the “gut wrenching” weakness in Bitcoin (BTC), which dropped upwards of 20 percent earlier this week, was the result of futures contracts expiring. Lee said the “significant volatility” is one of six expirations of Bitcoin that have happened since CBOE launched its futures contracts in December 2017.

According to Lee, Bitcoin usually sees a drop of around 18 percent in 10 days before futures expiration, with prices generally recovering by six days afterward. Lee explained that if a trader is long on Bitcoin and short the futures, holders may sell large shares of BTC at the volume weighted average price as contracts move closer to expiring.

Near expiration however, they may sell the remaining Bitcoin, which causes the price to drop, and leaving the short position in the futures they close “with a handsome profit.”

Lee also noted a low amount of investment in crypto markets this year, claiming that there’s more net supply this year amid initial coin offerings (ICOs), mining rewards, and capital gains taxes.

Crypto markets saw a slight rebound today, seeing gains of total market cap of around $20 bln from Wednesday’s low of $271 bln. Having dropped as low as $6,263 this week, Bitcoin has seen a growth of over 5 percent in the 24-hour period, and is trading around $6,618 at press time.

Recently, Cointelegraph reported that US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has launched a probe into four major crypto exchanges Bitstamp, Coinbase, itBit, and Kraken that have been providing data for CME Group, which launched Bitcoin futures trading in December 2017. The CFTC is investigating whether these platforms have taken any action that could constitute manipulation of cryptocurrencies’ prices.

Now I'll buy a stellar. World’s First Cryptocurrency Mobile Phone Network YOVO Chooses Stellar (XLM) too))).
Despite a tumultuous and volatile market, infrastructure investment within the blockchain space sees no signs of slowing down. In another coup for the Maltese government, YOVO – the world’s ‘first’ cryptocurrency-based mobile phone network, has relocated its global headquarters to Malta.

Utilising the Stellar network, YOVO and its native ‘YO token’ can be bought, earned and spent on over 500 mobile network partners, across 130+ countries at launch. Promising to be the first international mobile network powered by its own currency, YO tokens can be purchased or earned directly on a mobile phone. Tasks such as downloading and trying new apps/DApps, shopping, micro-tasks, receiving a call or text through the Virtual SIM, signing up to a new cryptocurrency exchange and more all earn the digital currency.
The Stellar protocol was also praised in the announcement, described by the YOVO team as ‘the fastest protocol for building financial products that connect people everywhere’.

In what promises to be an exciting business development to watch –  cryptocurrency, and the Stellar network in particular, seem ripe for industry application and disruption. Whilst it’s too early to tell whether the large telecommunications players are worried, YOVO and their blockchain solution will certainly capture the attention of professionals and the public alike. The company have secured an initial €20m of funding for their venture.

Despite the unpredictability of the current market, one thing is for certain – finance ministers across the world will be growing increasingly impatient at their own government’s inability to capitalise on the speed of development, and potential tax revenues from the blockchain space – and envious of Malta’s attractive legislation and growing digital global dominance.

What can be positive than the news that Bitcoin will soon replace the dollar.
The United States dollar is the main international currency and has been for more than 50 years. According to Ken Jacobs, CEO of financial advisory and asset management firm Lazard, that fact could change in the not-so-distant future — thanks to the undermining power of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

Jacobs explained in a Bloomberg Television interview late last week:
To the extent that we have unilateral foreign policy and unilateral trade policy, we’re sort of tempting the world to find an alternative. Probably the greatest demonstration of soft power is the fact that the U.S. has the reserve currency of the world.
That alternative is not likely to be another foreign fiat currency. Rather, Bitcoin appears to be the prime contender, though it’s possible another or multiple cryptocurrencies could share the responsibility.

Jacobs stated:
There’s enough technology out in the world today with cryptocurrency and changes going on that you can imagine, if you let your mind wander a little bit, that something becomes an alternative in the future.
The comment comes from one of the world’s major merger advisers and carries a lot of weight. As noted by Bloomberg, “Lazard managed more than $250 billion of assets as of the end of March, and is one of the world’s top 10 merger advisers.”
