Tell them you aren’t scamming us Blissz. Say it ain’t so.

Most of you know better, but let's try to be helpful Smiley
Look at the kernel log / connect whattomine / look at your mining stats and you will all see how it works:

every two hours it will mine exactly 1 minute and 50 seconds on one of the dev pools I hardcoded. This goes automatically / independent of the pools you have configured yourself. After that it will mine 2 hours on your pools again etc....

If you do see a reduced hashrate on your pool I think this might help some of you:

  • you're on an older firmware  which had a bug where it could not switch back to the main pool if it was down and it could hang for two hours in the dev pool.
  • you only have one pool configured. If your main pool dies it will jump to the next alive pool (which is then the devfee pool)
  • your main pool is not stable so it switches to the backup pool sometimes (which will cause that the hashrate is divided over two pools)
  • you mine on a pool that scams you
  • you have so many hardware errors / xxxx that kills your hashrate. (and have auto reboot disabled)
  • you have an unstable internet connection: this will cause that you get the work packages late and you get a lot more then normal discarded shares, because they couldn't be delivered to the pool in time
  • Same as the previous point, but then a bad connection on the pool operator side.
  • For some other reason your d3 just doesn't like my firmware -> just flash back to stock ( I can't think of anything else then the above, but I am just a human...)

Ok so where to start: the kernel log will be really helpful if you experience problems. Furthermore you can run a ping on the pool for a few hours to see if you get lost packages. If you're still in doubt: just post your problem here (describe it good and post your kernel log) so myself or a fellow forum member can help you out.

edit: added the last line, which is a possibility of course :')

Thanks for the thorough explanation. Great job on the firmware buddy. I appreciate the work you have done to improve our space heaters’ efficiency.

For skeptics, how is dev fee calculated :

Duration dev pool : 110 secondes every two hours(see attachments) is 1320 secondes per day.

If you subtract this result by the number of minutes per day, and that you calculate  1.5% of this value you will find:1276

If we compare to the 1320 second we are close to 1.50 is exactly 1.565% !

Good job Blissz !! keep on going

Need some assistance/advice with my brand new Antminer D3.

I'm not trying to waste anyone's time so I'm going to try and be as detailed as possible so people can diagnose the problems I have.

Alright, the first day I get the miner. Runs for about 3-4 hours. Has red "fault light flash"--> check and see every chip has a red "x" restart and the entire board 3 just no longer showed up on the page.

I went and upgraded firmware and now all three are back up but the third only shows "54" chips while the rest show 60. I am unsure why this is.

It's been going well on Antpool now for about 24 hours but I've noticed it's got millions... MILLIONS of hardware errors. I am unsure how to fix this or what it means.

Here's my situation: Miner is a room with ac + window open. (80F- 60F at night). The power supply is the APW3++ from Bitmain. I'm in USA so I believe it's 120 volts if that matters.

Everything else seems to be set to default. You can see my recent miner status here: It seems to have improved hash rate for the time being?

https://imgur.com/oqT12Hf

Plus on a side note, it randomly hits 0.00 hash or something on antpool charts: https://imgur.com/a/d54aG

Anyways, should I try to use my warranty to get it fixed? What are the benefits of using this "firmware" and how is it possible that it would be quieter faster hashing, and less power? Can't Bitmain just update theirs? I'm very new to this and would love to learn so all advice is greatly appreciated.
When have installed on 120V you get only 1000-1100W out of a Bitmain PSU.
The HW Errors is a fault from Bitmain, they put the frequency so high only to label the miner with 19.3GH, try in the settings to reduce the frequency to 506. this was my magic number on the last 2 D3 i get from Bitmain.

Blissz, change the Firmware you can setup for all 3 hashboards independent the Power and frequency, how you see in your pic the last hashboard is hotter, lot HW-Errors.
With this Firmware you can tweak your D3 to get the best out of all 3 Hashboards

Thank you for that understanding, but my question is what exactly does it mean to get "hardware errors" it just means it's too hot? Hasn't even hit over 70C yet on a board? Plus, If I reduce the "frequency" what exactly does that do to my hash speed? Would it result in a reduced speed or no? what're the benefits?

I have the same problem :

https://www.dropbox.com/s/tstpxhj3jm4kpg8/Chips%20problem.jpg?dl=0

Many HW and lost 6 chips in few hours...

I contacted bitmain support's I' m waitting their respons

But sometime I recover one chip and the second chain disappear ...

keep me updated. Thanks Cheesy

Bitmain's response :

Dear ...,

Please try reloading the firmware:

https://shop.bitmain.com/support.htm?pid=00720170915192851224mJ36J1ap066E

Run the miner for 20 minutes after loading.

If it still does not work please test each hash board separately to determine which one is defective.

To test each hash board separately: keep the PSU connectors and controller cable on one of the hash boards connected and disconnect the cables from the other two hash boards. With the miner running you can see the status of the connected hash board.

Here is more detail: http://support.bitmain.com/hc/en-us/articles/226142788-Testing-hash-board-one-by-one

On the miner status screen defective chips are displayed as "xxx", "---" or " ASIC≠72

Once you know which part is defective please create a Repair ticket and ship the part back to us according to these instructions: https://shop.bitmain.com/workOrderGuide.htm

http://support.bitmain.com/hc/en-us/articles/222648028-How-to-disassemble-miners

Please pack the hash boards carefully. If the PINs are lost due to shipping damage it will void the warranty. Here is a video demonstrating how to pack the boards: https://youtu.be/Z0LdykALhxI

Please let us know if you have additional questions or concerns.

Best regards,
Barbara

Guys,

Since today, every 40 minutes or so, my status are dead ...

https://www.dropbox.com/s/eoc2j7srpmi9o06/before%20rebbot.jpg?dl=0

I have to reboot manually otherwise it will not Hashrate...

https://www.dropbox.com/s/394ty4bkiqcftsp/after%20reboot.jpg?dl=0

Anyone know why?

Bliss your firmware can solve this problem?

THX

This should be solved by the most recent bitmain firmware as well - are you using the latest one (download from bitmain)?
I experienced this one before too (every 10 hours or so - not that often like you), I downloaded the latest firmware from bitmain but still - sometimes the machine was stuck with all asics xxx'ed.
I switched to blissz firmware, this performs an auto reboot if this problem occurs...

Thank for your respond

I have the last D3 (sub-model 19.3 gh / s) I think have the last FW of bitmain.
I'm thinking of trying Blissz's FW, but will the warranty work?

And I also an another problem with my second D3 :

https://www.dropbox.com/s/15tqz58g1h1d5j3/ASIC%20PROBLEM.jpg?dl=0

My ASIC status is not good, I have 54/60 ASIC since I restarted ...

Someone knows what to do?

This D3 have just one day ...

Thx

got a D3 from bitmain and CHain #3 isn't showing.  Should I wait for warranty reply from bitmain before flashing with Blissz firmware?

I had the same problem, you have to reboot

Rebooted and restored but same issue.  I should try blissz firmware and see it shows up...

wait a little bit more. I am currently testing a version which can help in case you've chains not showing up. / temperature reading problems

Since I reboot my ASIC status is different !!

What is the problem ??

Thx
