Strangest behaviour is that from a cold start, machines and fans work fine. Problems start once they reach working temperature.
Instead of spinning faster, PWM is slowing the fans down when they get higher temp. (dont know why). You could try play with target and cutout temp. at higher value to see if that makes any difference. Or just move the sensor to near intake fan (colder) instead of measuring at the outlet.

Re: Announcing NEW 3TH/s and 5TH/s 20nm Bitcoin Miners
If it is the factory power supplies like mine, they are getting weak on output. I reduce my frequency to 1300 and this seems to solve the problem. I am giving up a little speed, but gaining over all. I am about to order some new upgraded power supplies!
I've managed to get both of my units hashing at 200Gh/s+, however occasionally the hash rate will drop to 35-40Gh/s without warning with very high HW error rate. A reboot fixes the problem, but I'm forced to reboot the machines 2-3 times a day (and lose valuable mining time!). This happens on both miners.
Any thoughts?
Interesting - I've been running at 1500Mhz using 2 Corsair CX750s per box. If the hash rate drops keep occurring, I may try to take it down to 1400Mhz. Thanks!
What firmware are you using? If the latest firmware doesnt solve it use crontab to restart cgminer automatically.
In System -> Schedule Tasks
Copy and paste to last line 0 */4 * * * /etc/init.d/cgminer restart 0 20 * * * /sbin/reboot
This will restart cgminer every 4hr and reboot miner every 20hr.
i just received my 5th one and i cant log on to it. 192.168.1.99 is the ip, but i ipscan it and nothing comes up. my other miners are 2.xxx, is the 1.99 the problem?
Is your subnet .1 or .2?
im not sure what you mean but IP Address: 192.168.2.254 Subnet: 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway: 192.168.2.1
this is what i have in
antminer ip 192.168.1.99
all my other ants are 192.168.2.xxx
Did you setup your computer to 192.168.1.xx before connecting to the new antminer?
The extension cables are for CPU, where the 12V lines are on the same side as the clip and are yellow too, so the polarity was not wrong. But when I stripped the cable at the end to go into the connector the wires inside looked really thin and flimsy. The markings on the cable says 18AWG and 80 degrees, but I have a 18AWG cable and the wire inside is really think compared to these.
You could just use the connectors and DIY with thicker cables.
One of my machines got problems. It only hash at 5-10 MH/s. The fan only run for a while, after that, it is off and turn on after a while.
The temp2 always 85 degree C.
Is anyone got problems like me? Btminer please give me the solution to fix it.
Shut it off and let it cool down. The fan controller is not working properly on these machines. Try move the temperature sensor around and see if there is any difference on fan speed.
Ok, so I managed to move on. Now I can connect to settings page. I went to status --- cgminer configuration and inserted pool/worker/password for 2 of them. When I press save and apply I see action - spinning circle and quote applying changes. That goes on for several minutes: Applying changes /etc/config/cgminer
Last time I waited 10 minutes, still no change so I just went to system --- startup and on line where cgminer is I pressed restart - nothing happened. I tried status---cgminer configuration---save and apply then go to system---startup and start on cgminer line again nothing. Actually when I try restart cgminer it give me "Bad gateway" message.
Make sure your miner is connected to internet first. Try ping from "Diagnostics". There's a NTP bug that prevent it from saving.

Re: [Antminer S1 open for sale again] The last round before the Chinese New Year
So, has anyone with these btmine units actually gone up to 1600 MHz? I saw it was mentioned earlier, but I'm not sure it wasn't just suppostion, especially with other similar clones only running 1250 or 1300 MHz. Right now I'm happy with 1500 MHz running solid for 2 days straight. No high error rates or temps. But, if I'm throwing perfectly usable cycles on the floor, well, I'd rather not - comes from my SETI/BOINC/Prime days...
I have mine OC dynamically (--avalon-auto). Usually stays on 1450.
