HELP! Lost wallet password!
by
Guest
on 11/07/2013, 16:08:40 UTC
Hello guys, earlier this morning I bought 20 Bitcoins and sent them to my BitcoinQT wallet on my desktop. Only minutes after the transaction was complete I tried to send a few bitcoins out of the wallet and it asks for my password..

The wallet was created 6 months ago and I can not for the life of me remember the password. I know most of it the first part is "Jonhjef****" the last 4 are digits that I can not remember. I do remember that they are numbers however.

How can I recover my wallet?? I cant stand the idea of losing this much Bitcoins for such a stupid, stupid reason. Is anyone able to bruteforce it? If someones able to fix this Id have no problem giving them a percentage of whats in my wallet. help please!

Why are people panicing about Bitcoin's price?

I just don't understand it. A crash happens in every currency. Do people think that Cryptocurrencies are different?

I honestly don't understand. Bitcoin has had worse crashes, yet $65.40 sets off 'panic mode'? Seriously, whats the deal? I don't want Bitcoin to fail, but it's going to happen again and again as long as Bitcoin is alive.

A Mystery About Words?
by
Guest
on 22/06/2013, 02:46:30 UTC
Words have always made me curious. How did they come up with words? Did they just say anything that came to mind? If so, how do you explain words like, 'Avast', 'Duffel Bag', 'Phobia', etc. How could they have came up with them? How did they find out about, 'nouns', and 'synonyms'? How could they categorize words by making a new word based off of no word to describe a word?

If so, how do we know we always see the same words? I can see words like, 'Profile', or 'Forum'. But how do I know nobody else sees a different word? Let's say we do see different words, how could we describe the words? Do we see the same word as the pronunciation we use?

Could it be true we see different words, and phrases pulled together? But if it was true, how can we categorize, see, and pronounce words? How can we know the meaning of a word if we see it differently, and have a different categorization? Doesn't that mean that we wouldn't be able to look at books the same way? If so, how could somebody tell somebody about it? Would the author write another book to mimic the persons vision of the word?

How could we start calling words words if they hadn't exist when we started calling them words? How do we know who came up with the word, 'word'?

I also don't get how we could know a definition since our vision would be different, and most words have themselves in their own definition. (EX: 'a')

Is your 'profile' my profile too, or is it different from me?

Why is it that a lot of people don't understand what a 'troll' is?
by
Guest
on 15/06/2013, 05:04:45 UTC
Just asking. All over this forum, if you have a different opinion, or hate a idea you're instantly labeled a troll by most people. I'm not saying all over like you see a thread like this everyday, but it's annoying when people do it. It just makes no sense.

Sometimes, I personally just want to strangle people who do it. I go on various forums, and on every forum there's somebody like this. (I can't blame it all on BitCointalk.) And when somebody tries to explain their definition of 'trolling' or being a 'troll' is false, but they still use a false definition.

If this same logic was used 'offline', everybody in the world would be a 'troll'.

Is there something I'm missing? Can you just label anybody a troll? Why do people do it? Am I just crazy, and imagining things?

This is a temporary post, and this shows how Aegis will work. After Aegis get's out of the Newbie Section, a Main and Official new DevCoin thread will be posted.

This is the Main Devcoin thread. The following are popular devcoin links:

Devcoin is an ethically inspired project based on the BitCoin crypto-currency and created to help fund open source projects created by programmers, hardware developers, writers, musicians, painters, graphic artists and filmmakers.

Participants in the DevCoin economy earn DevCoins in proportion to their project development. Writers earn devcoins by writing, developers earn bitcoins by developing, artists earn DevCoin by creating, and the same follow for every other category including Administrators who apply their time and effort to help organize the DevCoin project and Marketers who earn devcoins by marketing.

We consider funding open source projects of all sorts, so if you have one idea that needs funding and you like us to take a look, please, by all means, submit your project at Cryptostocks and share with the DevCoin community over our this thread. We understand you may not want to discuss your idea in public, if that's the case, please submit it to unthinkingbit@gmail.com.

Download instructions are at:
http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=devcoin#download

The number of devcoins offered is large because the generation is fifty thousand per block, one thousand times the initial bitcoin generation rate. Devcoins can be traded at:
https://vps.vircurex.com/welcome/index?base=dvc&alt=btc

Besides bounties, the remainder of the 90% of generation is going to the open source developers on the bitcoin donation list:
https://github.com/Unthinkingbit/charity/blob/master/bitcoinshare.html

and to the open source developers who are developing other stuff on the devcoin share list:
https://github.com/Unthinkingbit/charity/blob/master/devcoinshare.html

To get on a donation list, an open source developer can message me or post in an active devcoin thread. They could also post in the original induction thread:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=18498

However, since there are few posts in the original induction thread I'm not checking it often.

The developers on the bitcoin donation list can see their devcoins by running a devcoin client and importing their bitcoin donation key into devcoin. One way of importing that key is by following the README.txt instructions for the modified version of bitcoin tools which incorporates Matt Giuca's privkeyimport:
https://github.com/Unthinkingbit/bitcointools

They could also use Jackjack's pywallet:
https://github.com/jackjack-jj/pywallet

the instructions for which are in the Pywallet section at the bottom of the post:

Aegis will be a new DevCoin moderation account. It will be moderating DevCoin topics like this, (One in the Newbie Section), but will be owned around-the-clock, to people that have powers towards the account.

For any questions, please P.M me. Or Unthinkingbit.

Please P.M me if you're interested in this loan.

BitCoin Farm [Spoof]
by
Guest
on 31/05/2013, 21:53:34 UTC
Hello guise. I'm making a BitCoin farm. I want each person to pay one million dollars. We're going to buy Antartica, which is like Antarctica but with tarts.

When we get their, you won't need equipment, because we're all going to be dressed as ninjas.

Also, I'm going to be doing five thousand other projects, and I'm not even sure how I'm going to fund them, so anybody who questions it will get ignore and labeled a troll.

I'm also going to start doing shit, and I have no idea how to do it, this includes: Funding, talking about my ideas, and also answering questions.

If you need me to answer questions I will surely tell you to be patient, and to also shut  the fuck up because I haven't thought about it yet.

I'm also thinking about land before thinking about anything else.

Here's the list of land we're looking at so far:

http://antartica.gov/buying-continent
http://antartica.gov/new-antartica
----
We're also going to be building tart-houses with help from the community. No matter if there's a  lot of people or not, if I say "there will be" there will be.

Questioning my logic means you're a troll.
Asking the same questions over again means you're a troll.
----
Also, don't question my definition of 'troll'.
----
Also, don't ask me about the million dollars, kay?

Can Anybody Figure out What This Song Means?
by

I remember one day my dad had this song playing when I was ten or eleven. At the time, I always thought I was too young to know what it meant, but in the recent years I went back to it, and still had no idea. The only thing I can think about is, "Mindfuck", at the fullest.

I Am The Walrus - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42luHhrsNhg - Beatles

I think I get when he says, "kicking Edgar Allen Poe", because Edgar's suspected death was cooping. But I have no idea.

Yup, gonna buy a whole continent with all that money. You can have 0.00001% of my profits, kay? Would I also like to mention I'm going to buy McDonalds? (You can only have 0.000000000001% of my profits there.)
Please guys. I want run away with that much money even though it's so obvious. Please send all of the funds to:

Any other 'acs26', or anyone else claiming to be me off of the forums isn't me. There's another person called 'acs26', also, and he's most likely a scammer. His name seems to be 'Jack Wiles' online, and he's most likely trying to scam people. Also please do not give him any loans. He has already emailed me asking for a 200BTC loan.

Buying DevCoin off of Newbies..
by
Guest
on 25/05/2013, 17:57:06 UTC
I'm going to start buying DevCoins from newbies via Vircurex. (USD)

I would like to say 0.00024900USD per 1,000DVC but I think that's outrageous.

Please name your prices. I want to give newbies a chance to get USD to buy other AltCoins.

------
Please contact me if you're interested.
I want legitimate deals.
I am warning scammers I'll heavily research you, and thus have a 35% chance of getting scammed.
Anybody with a 'Scammer Tag' or have a lot of 'ignores' should not waste their time. I will NOT do business with you.
----

Current DVC bought:

DVC: None at the moment..

----
The reason I want to buy from newbies is because I want to give them a chance, and I am also still thinking about making DevNate.

What is wrong with you people?
by
Guest
on 25/05/2013, 04:24:20 UTC
I just want to know:

What hell is wrong with you people that are complaining about the Newbies system?

I've seen sites that requested more than five posts to post on other boards.

I've seen sites in which you had to spend a few days on them..

This site isn't asking much, believe me. It's easy to get five posts, or even twenty posts on this site in one day. This site is pretty large meaning that there's always new threads being made, and posts. Just think about how many people are on this site. Now think that there's 10 people who join every few hours. Those ten people might make 2 posts or threads, meaning 20 are being made. Now think about the main 14 boards. (Other languages not included.)

Now multiply that by 20 (20 x 14= 280) Divide that by five.. (280 divided by 5 should equal 56.) Divide that by 2 (56 divided by 2 is 28.) And that should equal the average number of posts or threads made in a few minutes.

And think about %10-%30 of those post go to the Newbies section.

Using reasoning, you could make tons of posts in a hour on this site. (Without spamming of course.)

I see nothing wrong in getting 5 posts on this forums, or being on it for 4 hours.
