And here I thought we were stuck at 184. In the time it took me to eat breakfast it's up to 18650.

Is this how rich people think? "In the time I ate breakfast I made more money than the average person in a year..."HuhHuh?

Explains a few things.

Yeah, those damn rich people have it easy. Meanwhile the poor folks like us have to wait at least a whole night to make that kind of money.

note to ZeroHedge Tylers

10% swings in Bitcoin are not news.
Zerohedge has been ridiculously bad quality for years now...

The comments section you mean.

The comments section is not even worth talking about.

The ZH "news" are a complete joke too. Whenever they say a market "crashed" it always turns out to be complete bullshit or at least not something really worth mentioning.

Besides, they have been bashing bitcoin for years.... until this year, when they suddenly started praising it and educating people about it. It's just ridiculous. They have zero credibility.

Another ATH in 6 hours?

Probably, because you see, the problem with bitcoin is that everybody holding is way too optimistic and greedy, and so the price keeps going up.
On top of this all the weak hands have been wiped out over the years, so only the strongest remain, which makes the market incredibly resilient to panic.

It's really surprising how high the current bubble could go. Hopefully, if correction happens, it doesn't fall too hard.

You wish!

Every time bitcoin has gone 10X and popped it lost over 50% of its value.
Your "lost over 50%" is a rare event, if there is a dip it is just ranging between $200-$2000 and Bitcoin will recover again, CME is really promising , the investment and the money invested on Bitcoin kinda overwhelming, falling too hard is still possible but highly not possible on a sense that there are lot of Big investors fighting for their profit.

Rare? It happened 4 times in a two years period, and the last two times it was right after going 10X. The only reason it hasn't happened in a long time is because we were in a down trend for years before it started recovering in late 2015.

We are now 10X above what the price was 8 month ago, and 43X what it was 2 years ago with NO MAJOR corrections since then.

Re: Many graph analysts saying BTC will correct once it hits $10k. Why?
by

Is there an actual reason why BTC will drop once it hits $10k other than the fact that everyone is saying it will happen?

The value of anything is what we collectively want it to be, so if we all think 10K is the top, then it will be the top.

In the past we've had these bubbles (the general pattern is: way up, way down, up, stable):

$2 -> 7 -> 4 -> 5 and it stayed around $5 for a while. (40 and 30% loss from high)
$5 -> 17 -> 7 -> 10 and it stayed around $10 for a while. (60 and 40% loss from high)
$10 -> 250 -> 50 -> 100 and it stayed around $100 for a while. (80 and 60% loss from high)
$100 -> 1,100 -> 400 -> 600 (60 and 40% loss from high) and then it entered a down trend all the way to 250 (80% loss from high).

You can look at the chart here and see it for yourself: https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/bitstamp/btcusd

10k is a really nice round number, everybody has made incredible gains this year, euphoria is rampant, and everybody is worried about a crash.
What do you make of that?

Here is what I make of it:

$600 -> 12,000 (20x increase) -> 5000 -> 7000 -> And then god knows. It could go down to 3000 and under, or just stay around 7000 for a while before the next bubble.
And that's with the 60%-40% pattern. If it turned out to be more like 80%-60% that would mean the price going straight down to under 3000, then back up to 5000.

So I don't think 10K is the top. We will push past it in a last and desperate attempt to reach the moon (because we are greedy as fuck) then dreams will be shattered and much patience will be required.

Re: Is this the Best Time to Buy BTC at 10k
by

on 28/11/2017, 04:36:54 UTC
The right time to buy Bitcoin is every month or week in small quantities.
By adjusting how much you buy every time based on the price, you will be able to grow your portfolio with a good average of the bitcoin price over a period of time.
This is by far the best way to lower the risk when buying bitcoin. If it goes up, you make less (but still make money) and if it drops, you lose, but you lose a lot less.

First time I see who is Roger Ver. What a piece of shit. I'm disappointed.

I hadn't heard it being called "Bcash" before, but I like it, I'm going to start calling it that.

Who knows if it's serious or not, and who cares? Like with all alt-coins one must assume that it's a pump-and-dump coin until proven otherwise. Just buy a bunch and forget about it.

BCH from $$2850 to $$1700   Cheesy Cheesy

A lot of people got their asses handed to them in this first dump and it is still tanking.  Don't fall for these whale games, just lock your BTC away on a hardware wallet then put it in a safe =P

I started contemplating the idea of selling all my BCH when it hit $2500, and by the time I was done thinking it was already back under $2000  Grin
