Okay...even worse now. The fan on my miner never turns off and there is a red light near the ethernet connector. Can anyway give me a stock C1.img or a network.conf with DHCP? ASAP
It seems deliberate as if to dissuade.
And no, simply flashing the card wouldn't give me the fix I need. It would be in the .1.0 network after flashing the card unless you have an idea how to reset the 192.168.1.99 to another subnet on the card before it goes in the machine.
So, no. Holding the reset for 90 seconds brings it to that, 192.168.1.99, state.
The S5's wake up to DHCP so subnets are not a problem. But water cooled has lower temps than hard fan like the S5.

not really. i pay 0.064 and it was not worth it at ~$330 BTC
dpends on how optimistic you are regarding price and network difficulty growth slowing down over the next 12 months. At $0.13 USD/kwh my assumptions include >$1000 by 2016 and difficulty growth sticking around 4-5%/jump for the next while, at least until price growth. Theres also the fact that hardware often sells used for 2-3x its mining value near the end of its life. Right now, S3 units are still selling for $200 and the S1 goes for ~$50 on sites like kijiji, craigslist, ebay, despite the fact you can get new hardware that is similar hashrates but more efficient for similar $/GH.all i can say is good luck to you LOL. im not going to pay $700 a month in power bills hoping to make money some time down the road maybe (probably not)
s1 are not going for $50 on ebay. maybe in including shipping.
i sold 70+ of them for about $20-$25 on ebay a couple weeks ago.
and the s3s for $150-$180 including shipping

Hello all. I'm looking to make a very simple SHA coin called TestCoin (for miner testing, etc.). How exactly would I go about this? I would prefer NOT to use a service like CoinCreator if possible.

Just like the others you go to miner configuration with in it advanced settings. Once you go there the freq and voltage can be changed.

Is the cooling kit necessary?
100%, yes. If you want something similar but without watercooling, pick up an S3 or S5.

Discards are entirely normal and shouldn't really be displayed at all as they're meaningless in regards to mining performance. Think of it as someone counting how many times you close your front door on the way to work, in a work performance report.
Alright, great. Anything on overclocking yet? I did see a field for that but have no idea what voltage to select. Also, where' s the SSH?
