Are there coins which you could mine with CPU so that it would be profitable?
The best one right now is Monero (XMR), it is on the CryptoNight algoritm, which is designed for the CPU mining, also there is a lot of other coins that you can mine, which are not so profitable right now, but the best way is to mine Monero, and if you want some other coin to have just buy it on exchange from the income.
This looks very interesting, I will give it a try!

Oh my people!!!! are you wanna throwing your cpu into the thrash? Please don't use your cpu to mine anything and your cpu should be burned as fast as possible. The only possible thing for you to get a penny from your cpu mine but that was involving high risk about the possibility to burn your own cpu. that was really bad idea.
No, I don't want to burn my CPU! I am looking for coins which are designed for CPU and not GPU or ASICS.
Are there coins which you could mine with CPU so that it would be profitable?
There are a lot of coins that can be mine with CPU specially bitcoin but it is not profitable for now because it can harm or burn your computers CPU. Just try alternative way just like GPU and it can mine more types of altcoins.
Yes, I know that you could mine even BTC with CPU but it is not profitable and I also know that there is GPU option (not for BTC though). BUT my question was that is there coins which would have such POW algorithm that you could CPU.

No, we should not panic, ever! And besides, most of the ICOs are pure scams, so it is good that they get some bad publicity!

I only had very few because I hold mostly alts. The few which I had in the exchanges I dumped with 0.4 (Bittrex).

ETH is just a shitcoin (and not really even a coin) with scammy hard forks and ICOs. If you don't like BTC switch to LTC!

I am very surprised it has survived thus far! Seriously I do not think that it has bright future.
There are more coins that are POW then the ones you listed. Monero is one of them
So your question is if POW vs POS ? good or bad?
I like POW better then POS . It all depends how the setup is. Bitcoin POW does not work because they way it is setup big miners get bigger control of the network
A POW that is based on direct reward for example allowing you to use the network is better then POW that is based on rewarding thirdparty like bitcoin has
I like POS over POW, but I think that POW + POS hybrid is the best!
My question for the members of this community is this
Does it make more sense to do a ICO or to take a 15%-20% premie and sell them as you need funds for the project. It seems one can't go right. You have a ICO and people roll their eyes, you do a premie and people call pump and dump.
What is the best way if you want to further develop your coin
Thank you all.
The best way to launch a coin in my opinion is through airdrop select trusted members of this community to participate to the development of your coin, ico has a bad reputation and for good reasons so stay away from launching an ico if you cannot offer good features of your coin or do not have usage of your coins.
I don't believe in eth as an alt. As for a distributed app platform the technology is interesting, but as for an alt, no.
What's an "alt"?
Alternative to Bitcoin?
Ethereum is a replacement for Bitcoin. It learned from Bitcoin's mistakes and re-architected something better.
In terms of value store, Ethereum matches Bitcoin for security/ease-of-use/etc.
In terms of value transfer, Ethereum is: faster, cheaper, more reliable, more energy efficient.
In terms of value programability, Ethereum is years ahead.
Bitcoin is a 2D blockchain technology that's getting old, is slow and expensive. Ethereum is a lightweight 3D (value store, value transfer and value programability) blockchain for the future.
I repeat myself. I do not consider Eth as a coin at all. It is an interesting technology with the smart contract concept. As a coin it totally lost its credibility after the fork.
