if we can post gpu rig too, then this was mine, a year ago then i sold it, too bad it was a cool little rig

i want mining ridges..dam why i dont have money.
Did you research recent news about bitcoin mining? It's already gone era of mining rigs.
You won't profit from GPU rig anymore, it's already ASIC era for quite long time.

I obviously didn´t mean to say that the units aren´t sufficiently cooled (or the walls would start melting at such a high density).

I only stated that it wasn´t optimised to the fullest extent which I think is a fair comment to make.

This can be seen by the empty, not sealed spaces between units, effectively creating "holes" in the hot air containment system (if this exists behind the units, which cannot be seen).

If anyone wants to share their unit temperatures inside this facility, feel free to do so.

A good example of an optimised hosting facilty can be seen here:

http://toom.im/images/three_full_racks.jpg

When the racks are full (which they are to my knowledge) the lower static pressure caused by the exhaust fans in the hot aisle actually increases airflow through the units, outside air is cooled by evaporative coolers.

Jtoomim´s system seems to be a little more complicated but such a high density without any active AC is astonishing.

The footprint is smaller and the amount of hosted hardware is higher than in bobsag´s facility.

Judging by the damage seen here --> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=640010.0 , I'd say Mr. bobSCAMg, packed them in a little too tight.

Thought you guys might appreciate it.

Yours?

It's ZeusMiner / GAWMiners Datacenter Setup.

The only problem is none of them are installed nor does the Hashrate at all match what they currently pretend to offer with their Hashlets which are just fake miners that give you Bitcoins based on the thought that you may be able to make that amount of Bitcoin each day and that basicly a Bitcoin is a USD  Cheesy

Why would they fake a whole data center for it.... in the picture it looks like they are well plugged and running..

god you're fcking slow arent you?

Fake hashrate does not mean fake data center. 1PH/s datacenter in hardware ====> super dup to 10PH/s on cloud

Most are still unaware (or don't want to know) about the various hashpower and miniting exploits used by devs, pools and the cloudhashers.

What will people do when they realize that 90% of it is fake ?

We're adding more and more GPUs on a weekly basis, and we've got 4 AntMiners coming in tomorrow.

Total within the next few weeks should be ~40MH/s scrypt, and ~2TH/s SHA256.
Hows the heat? I cant imagine that box fan is enough.. I need a humidifier im dealing with hot dry air.
Ambient for the room is ~50F, and most of the cards are between 55-65C. It's winter in New England, and there's a filtered box fan in the window to the right in the pic, behind the rigs. It's blowing 0-20F air into the room, and the cards are nice and cool!

We have 50kBTUs of AC ready to go, but we're holding off while we can, cuz a box fan is cheaper. Wink

Nice RIG  Grin
Thanks!

Hey thanks for the reply.. Ive got some miners going in my garage but unfortunately i run a small business out of my garage so its my office too!

It been really tough for me as the miners are sucking the air out of the room! Its really dry and hot on my lungs & sinus is paying for it big time. Ive got a boiling pot of water going almost all day to act as a humidifier and i have the door open but it overall sucks.. Box fan isnt helping.. It may just be helping spread particles of dust which is just not helping..

Its taking a tool on my health and its starting to piss me off.. i need to regulate it somehow before even consider scaling up ..

Looking at other peoples setup is helpful but im sure nobody is spending many hours a day with their miner in the same room!

AMD should be shamed for those cheap reference coolers.

Have you thought about going aftermarket ?

since GPU mining for scrypt coins isn't bitcoin, aren't posts here about it in the wrong place? shouldn't they be posted in the altcoins section? So of course GPU mining is looked down on. it is either unprofitable or being talked about in the wrong place. (Bitcoin Snob here)

I agree that GPUs should be banished from this thread since they are no longer viable for bitcoin mining to make a profit.
Glory to ASIC!

Sorry to burst your bubble but there are distinct and valid reasons to be using GPU in 2014. Or were you trolling?

Some of these rigs people are posting images of cost over $6000, do you really think that they would go to great effort to design and construct these custom systems and not do a few calculations to prove they are viable and profitable?

+1

He must be trolling or ignoring uses for the GPUs...
Also, this is the "Pictures of your mining rigs!" topic, not the "Pictures of your bitcoin mining rigs!".

This is a 'bitcoin' section of the forum, for bitcoin mining hardware.
GPUs are no longer viable for profiting with BTC, so you are either stupid wasting money on power for your rig, OR you are mining altcoins.

Seriously... who the fuck cares, everyones inhere for the geek factor of the hardware.. Smiley

+1

This is my favorite forum thread to get my geek on. I don't discriminate on which hardware.

Looks like the fans are running at 85%+ speed. Mine are between 2500 and 2700 on the their own.

The Gigabyte hsfs deserve some credit here aswell...

Or maybe.. theres some -6C air blowin through the screen door. Grin

i'm actually wondering why this guy is using pictures of other peoples rigs (e.g. mine), without asking

So he can hawk his mining contract on eBay.  Ya know, a real stand-up individual with principles and morals and stuff.

LMAO .. he's using all of our pics !

The passively cooled 7870XT topped out at 64C with only a small room fan ( @ medium speed) blowing into the case. heh..

Passive cooling on cards?!

Huh?

Mine are not passive cooled, simply sapphire r9 280x "dual-x" cards. I have to run the fans at 100% to keep them at ~75c at 1080/1500 I13. I plan on burning the fans out, because they will at 100%, and replacing with watercooling. Lots of the non-ref 280x cards are the same non-ref design, kinda hoping someone comes out with a new block, against all odds.

Those Dual-X coolers are terrible for mining and barely cut it when gaming.

To make matters worse, the memory thermal pad(s) on my 7870xt's was keeping the hsf from sitting flush with the chip.

Yeah, not at all impressed. I wasn't expecting much though, these things run stupid hot. I bought the cheapest expecting to watercool  Grin

I plan on taking these apart to measure some stuff soon, Kinda curious if redoing them might make them a few degrees cooler. I think I can make a heatkiller block fit with some slight modification though, if that doesn't work.

Repasting knocked off a few degrees with mine. The Gelid coolers took it down another 15-20C. Wink

ATI has enough trouble getting two GPUs to Crossfire properly.  It'd actually be a pretty shitty gaming rig.  Tongue

He'll be able to detect the EMF radiation/ pollution from that distance with a mass spectrometer. :/

Have you ever heard of EMF radiation sickness ?

Have you ever used a MS?
Did you know that 2.4GHz is way less dangerous for you than visible light?  Do you live in the dark?

The electronics industry has taught you well.

All I can say is, do your research. Wink

Only if you buy cheap-ass wifi equipment.

It is still unreliable. Hello, what if you link goes down and you are 1000mi away?

Must be doing it wrong? I had two 560 448 ti's in sli for the longest time. They still ran some games better than the new 280x cards I have in crossfire. Hell of a lot quieter, too  Cheesy

I did not say everything SLI was a fail. lol

Why are the new gpus louder ? Sapphire heat bags ?

No complaints about EVGA's coolers, btw. Very cool.. very quiet. Too bad they don't do AMD. heh..
