Re: [SCAM ALERT] ***********EMUNIE - CAUTION ADVISED*************
by

Any here ever heard of the history of the Witches of Salem?  Or the story of the boy who cried wolf?  Can adults grow up and and be adults, do their due diligence and decide on their own what they want to do with their money and time?  Frankly quite annoying reading this post when we're talking about crypto.  We want technology to improve yet we're having these childish skirmishes.  It's like going through some kind of high school episode.

As some of the posters have already said/advised,  DO YOUR OWN HOMEWORK!  Join the forum, read the posts they have, ask the questions you need answered.

As an FYI, yes, I have invested in emunie, litecoin, BTC, FrozenCoin.  I am a beta tester for emunie as well.

Note to Fuesleer: As much as you want to prove to childish people,  I advise you never ever post your personal information like that.  I've had a friend get his identity stolen before.

If you can afford to play a tiny bit.  its still worth it.  I on the other hand regret on invest my money into the coins.  Instead I invested in equipment which would have equated hundreds of thousands of dollars at todays bitcoin value.  Soooo, just gotta go with it and decide with you think is best for yourself.  It's like the lottery,  some people will tell you, it's not worth it and the winners will tell you, gotta pay to play.  I had a friend who told me to invest in Apple.  It was $100 too rich for me then.   Now... well,  yeah,  I'd have been richer now if I only invested in 10 shares Smiley

Good God..  Prenups!  lol.  Well I could understand if the SO wants to keep their property especially if it's before marriage and they have a decent fortune (even if it's a nice house or some collection).  If the SO agrees, then you know they don't care much about the money.

In any case, if the SO didn't give a crap about you and your bitcoins, keep them for yourself Smiley.  I tell my wife about it but she doesn't think much about it just as long as I'm careful with what I'm doing.  In the event of something happening, I'd still give half to her.

Now in court, that's a different story Smiley.  If you got married and accumulated bitcoins afterwards, half belongs to her.  But who's to say you ever had an account Smiley.  If she finds out you filthy rich after a few years and the value of bitcoins rockets up, you'll sure to be getting a letter from the courts to review your finances.

Using bitcoin now helps everyone in terms of growth if bitcoins.  Besides, if the people who bought those subway sandwiches are miners, does it matter how much the spend?  Not really.  If they bought bitcoins early on, do you think they care also?  Nope, they made a profit still.  I'd like to spend some bitcoins locally. I don't have much but with the price rise, it would be a treat.

I don't feel sorry for the OP.  Why should we?  Well maybe just a little bit but still, he got into bitcoin and didn't read up about it.  People have lost their passwords or forgotten them, those are the sad ones.  But a hard drive failure without a backup..  Poo-hooo.  Always make a backup of important data you want to keep.  Also if the op has no clue about data recovery, he could be keeping track of this thread in hopes of people with solutions to provide him with which has already happened.

I feel like this is more of a troll post.  He's a full member with 186 posts since July 04, 2012, 08:09:42 PM.  He should know a little more than the just new beginner.  With the price of bitcoin as it is now and to say, bye just like that.  TROLLLLLLLLLLL...

Sorry to hear, jarr.  There are a lot of people who jumped in late and are eating the very end of the stick with this company still.  I'm glad they changed their product and raised prices which forced me to turn way from buying more equipment from them.  The only thing you can do is only wait or try to get a refund.  Keep querying them about your order status maybe.

Lots of people lost out huge potential gains because of this company, asking for BTC only payments originally for the early adoptors.  Not sure of your situation but it's a life lesson.  Always do your due diligence, in everything.

Personally I would sell for cash.

Yea same, then you could deposit it anyway

Curious, where would you sell it for cash?  I'd be scared to do it locally Smiley

Frag,  as a small time miner I admit I am hoarding my coins.  I don't have many as I started very late and my equipment doesn't do the kind of mining compared to the larger miners out there.  I will agree with you that as the price keeps going up no one in their right mind is going to sell any.  It all depends on the person though.  I recently spent 2.5 btc to purchase some goods.  That was before the price had skyrocketed to 800+ in which I missed out in a large gain.  Still I don't feel bad that I spent it as I have some more available.  As long as the mining continues and the value of btc goes up, I'm satisfied.

Re: Cost and Confirmation time of Bitcoin Transactions
by
HoboTheClown
on 20/11/2013, 19:25:46 UTC
I'm not sure if these complaints were recent.  For me, I bought something on Monday,my first purchase with Bitcoins, and to my astonishment it was quick in terms of confirmation of bitcoin transaction.  I created another account and transferring a small amount from my main account to the new account, confirmation was pretty much instantaneous.  Once I purchased my items with the small funded account, that transaction of bitcoins was very quick.  I received confirmation on my phone literally 1 sec later.  The one thing that made me concerned was that retail's website took a while to send me any confirmation email letting me know the purchase was complete.  As for transaction fee, it was a small one .0005 BTC I believe, or whatever the decimal place is suppose to be but it was not very high at all.  That's my recent experience.

Painful to hear you had such an experience.  As someone noted, welcome to the financial world Smiley.  Good thing at least you were able to find some meaningful material before the end of that conference.  Some people will say it takes money to make money.  With these big conferences, you end up with people looking for ideas of where to take their money to.

you should be able to set multiple 'accounts' up on g-authenticater.  There is an option in the app to do so.  I've created a couple one accidentally for the same account on eclipse pool but luckly only matched one.  I then deleted the one I did need to use.  You should be ok as long as you tie in the correct codes when you sign up.

I have no experience with setting up on MtGox but it should be the same as g-authenticater is developed by google.

Re: I ordered a faulty 7950 from amazon and became sick
by
HoboTheClown

The problem is with Newegg, I've always had problems with them and their restocking fees and such. Amazon is the cheapest and the best way to go IMHO. They pay for the shipping back and they don't charge a restocking fee.

I actually prefer newegg cause most of the hardware are cheaper. You can always RMA instead of ask for refund?

Depends on how you talk to them and who you get.  I've had good experience with both retailers.  As for cheaper, you can talk to Amazon to price match Newegg I believe.  Haven't done it in a while so not sure if they changed policies.

I glanced at Amazons refund policy and don't remember if they charge a restocking fee for returned electronics but I believe it had to be never used even after taken out of the box.  Newegg does charge a restocking fee if you do returns.  I was lucky the rep was nice as I was polite to her.  She waived the restocking.  Win!  So also ask if you can get a discount or something waved if you've been a long running customer.

Hi All!

Just curious if any of you decided to spend some bitcoins while the price was skyrocketing?  Don't include saying you sold bitcoins.  I spent ~2.5 bitcoins on gift cards so I could buy presents.  Would have been nice to 'time' the market to get some higher value on the bitcoins but I'm still happy.  My first bitcoin purchase as well!.

Leave any thoughts as I'd like to hear what everyone elses experience is.  Thanks!

Yay, out of the newbie section!  I wouldn't put all your money in one basket unless you're gung-ho.  I've been brainwashed to never put all your eggs in one basket.  So my thoughts are to diversify.  With that said, some gold here, bitcoin there, silver, litecoin and other financial vehicles, which I have so far Smiley
