We have been consistently in the top 20 global dApp Games by daily active users as per dappradar.com for the last 2 days, peaking at 12!
This is not including pending transactions which there is a lot of due to high gas cost today..

You are aware this is a Game and it is branded as such, right? While there is scope for gain, only a fool would indeed see HODL.EARTH or some other dApps as genuine investments... (apart from in any tokens backing the dApp from an ICO etc which hodl.earth does not have)

Thanks for your feedback, screenshots are definitely a good idea! As things stand, given current regulation and some app stores hostility to dApps, it will remain online on the site only. Although this could change in the future as the HODL.Earth developments and attitudes change.

Hodl.Earth relies on its community for its longevity. We believe that our users should be rewarded for playing and sustaining Hodl.Earth; as a result, we will reward our community by running a range of competitions on a daily, weekly and monthly basis with real rewards.
Every month we give out 1.3 ETH and other prizes to the best designs as voted for by users of HODL Earth.

Artwork Competition
Users create artwork and designs, matching the theme for the month.  Designs must be 100 plots or fewer.

Weekly bonus

If a registered user purchases a minimum of 2 plots per day for 7 consecutive days, they will be refunded the full cost, up to a maximum of $25 (0.1 ETH) of the plots purchased AND receive a bonus payment of $25 (0.1 ETH).

Monthly bonus

If a registered user purchases a minimum of 4 plots per day for 30 consecutive days, they will be refunded the full cost of the plots, up to a maximum value of $50 (0.2 ETH) AND receive a bonus payment of $75 (0.4 ETH).

Baby steps are the way to mass adoption! Since Hodl earth is a game and not a speculative asset it should reduce the barriers of risk.

HODL Earth is a brand new dApp on the Ethereum blockchain. Whereby players buy plots of a virtual Earth, and plot owners share fee income generated by the game. It is a platform for further development in the shape of games where users in addition to buying, selling and trading can compete for plots.

Buy, HODL and trade plots of land across virtual Earth. Buy your own home or a famous landmark. Its first-come first-served - be quick!

Each plot is unique and is owned by you. It cannot be copied, taken away or destroyed.

Overview

Buy plots and earn fee income:

New plots cost ETH 0.001 (about USD 0.25). The 1st 250,000 plots are discounted by 60% and cost just ETH 0.0004 ETH (about USD 0.10). All transactions include a 10% fee (min. USD 1.00). Fee income is shared across all plot owners.

Personalise:

Change the colour of your plots. Style your empire in your favourite colour, write messages or create designs for other players to find.

Platform:

Hold.Earth is a foundation, we will be working with developers to create a series of games on the platform whereby users can compete for plots etc.

HODL Earth is a decentralised application (dApp). We want to support and reward developers looking to build on HODL Earth - extending and expanding the scope of the game. Games built on top of HODL Earth can benefit from a share of fee income and plot sales. We may also award grants or make investments in startups to help fund development of these games. What is a plot?

A plot is a digital representation of approximately 3m x 3m (10m2) section of land on virtual Earth1.

Each plot is unique and can only be held by one player at any one time. Plots are sold on a first-come first-served basis. Plot ownership is recorded on the Ethereum blockchain.

Owning plots enables you to get a share of transaction fee income generated from the future sale of plots and in-game spending activity.

1Plots are constructed using a latitude and longitude mapping - they are bigger near the equator, and smaller at the poles. Plots are approximately 10m2 near the Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn.

What can I do with a plot?

Buy and trade: You can simply HODL your plot or sell on to another player at a later date.

Share fee income: Plot owners share the transaction fee income generated from the sale of plots and other in-game spending. Each plot purchase has a 10% transaction fee.

Add colour: You can add colour to your plots. Create messages and images for other players to find. Your imagination is your only limitation. Please avoid offensive terms and images. See some of our favourite designs on our gallery page.

Trade: Players can list their plots for sale or make an offer for plots which have already been sold. Players decide between themselves how much they would like to pay to buy (and sell) a plot. (in development but will be available very soon)

How do I purchase a plot?

To purchase a plot, go to hodl.earth/game. You will need a dApp browser, a digital wallet, and some ETH, but as previously stated hodl.earth will make this process simple for beginners.

Coming soon: we are making it easy to convert small amounts of ETH - if you don't yet have any cryptocurrency. Please create an account and we’re happy to convert up to USD $250 into ETH (minimum transaction of $10). $250 goes a long way in HODL Earth!

Timeline:

The Bit Bang- HODL Earth is created. Players can purchase plots (Proof-of-stake).

Stone Age- Players can add colour to their plots.

Bronze Age- Players can name their plots.

Age of Industrialisation (coming soon)- Trade plots: buy or sell plots with other players. First badges are created.

Age of Innovation- The future of HODL Earth will be determined by its community of users. Who knows what's next...

Potential Developments:

As HODL Earth is a dApp, you control the game's development road map and experiences that players can enjoy.

Here are a few ideas under consideration. We may build these, but if you would like to participate and take on a project please feel free to do so!

(You don't need our permission...and we can't stop you!) We are more than happy to entertain income share discussions to encourage this.

· Dude, where's my lambo?- Find and buy plots with cars on HODL Earth. Build your virtual garage. Extra points for lambos (obviously!).

· Train-spotting and Plane-spotting- Find and buy plots with trains and planes. Extra points for rare trains and planes, and for finding trains away from train stations and depots.

· Charity- Enables users to donate transaction fees to charity - for example donation to Greenpeace for any plots purchased in the Pacific Ocean.

· Treasure Hunt- Treasure is hidden in specific locations around the world. Players have to find and solve clues to determine where the treasure is hidden. The first player to buy the plot where the treasure is hidden wins the prize.

· Estate Agency- Create a shop window (UI and UX) for displaying purchased plots and enabling the resale (or rental) of these plots by other players. Earn commission for plots sold in this way.

· Time Travel- Go back in time (or forwards) and create a layer on top of HODL Earth with additional features.

· AR / VR- Create an augmented reality overlay for the real world. Users can see who owns HODL Earth plots in real life. Reward players for making real world visits to purchased HODL Earth locations.

· Go- Create a smart contract for users to play 'Go'. The final board is then rendered on the HODL Earth map, perhaps on top of a piece of land or village which the players have been competing over. The board is then visible forever.

· Foursquare- Create a Foursquare integration, so that players can buy HODL Earth plots related to their checkins and favourite locations.

· Anything you can think of, Hodl.Eath is simply a platform, the possibilities are endless.
