nodecore CLI wont connect to 127.0.0.1:10501

client just repeats messages like this one:

anyone have a similar issue or a solution??

Other than being annoying, it doesn't seem to prevent the CLI or nodecore from working.
Once nodecore has synced, you can quit the CLI and restart it, if you want to.
It's not a new issue: https://github.com/VeriBlock/nodecore-releases/issues/11

Does anyone know how to uninstall the FahCore_a4 process?

You can 'Configure' the 'Slots' for the Folding@Home software using the F@H 'Advanced Control'. If you have a GPU, then you can remove the CPU Folding Slot, and the FahCore_a4 process will not run (it is only used to do CPU folding).

If CPU folding is your only option and you still want to contribute, where the F@H software was slowing your computer down too much: you can change the F@H settings to 'Medium' or 'Light', or 'On Idle'. There is also a Chrome plugin for Folding@Home for CPU folding that is better for laptops and less powerful computers without a GPU.  Smiley

Hi,

I get "Internal Server Error" when I try to generate passkey on link below:

http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/getpasskey.py

That does happen for a period of time. Try back later (4-6 hours), or tomorrow and it should be working again.

I think my settings are correct. 100,000 points is needed to receive the reward?

Any amount of Folding@Home points will earn FLDC.

To find out how much FLDC you have earned for a day, you can use this:
http://foldingcoin.xyz/?token=FLDC&total=250000&start=2017-04-21&end=2017-04-22

Where you adjust the date ranges in the web link for a day, press the 'Show Stats' button, and Find (Ctrl+F) your Bitcoin address at the top for daily Folding@Home points and at the bottom for daily FLDC.
---

There is a separate limited time promotion to receive the FOLDERPEPE card. You can get a FOLDERPEPE each month you:
1. Fold 100k Folding@Home points with a FoldingCoin compatible username
2. Post your Folding username in the FoldingCoin Slack #folderpepe channel

Please see the the announcement for details, if you're interested:

Can I have multiple computers on a single bitcoin address? To mining foldingcoin (reward folding)
Yes, of course.

To receive a reward Folding how many points I need?

If your setup is correct, any Folding points you earn will earn some FLDC.
FoldingCoin distributions are monthly, on the first Saturday after the end of the month. CureCoin is distributed daily.

Using the FoldingBrowser on Windows is the easiest way for new users to get setup with Folding@Home, to earn both FoldingCoin and CureCoin. Please see the main website for the FoldingBrowser download link:

Could anyone send my an invitation to Slack please.

We discuss most things in public meetings and on Slack: http://slack.foldingcoin.net/
Thanks,I already had Slack link but for some reasons don't receive invitation to my email.Should I get it straight away or have to wait?

The Slack link is an auto-join link, so you should be able to get the email, and login to Slack right away.
It is working for me. Please let us know if you are still having issues with it.

The main FoldingCoin website has a lot of information:  http://foldingcoin.net/
There are links to the monthly meeting videos for current events, and tutorial videos to get setup with FoldingCoin.

The summary of the March meeting is listed above:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=781352.msg18074083#msg18074083

What future developmentso are planned?

Our near term plans would be improvements to: the distribution platform, stats pages, and the all-in-one installer for folders.
The new lead developer will have a fair amount of say in the upcoming software development.

Additionally, we are seeking out other ideas to attract new folders.
We're still looking for people to help out with various aspects of the project. Please let us know, on the FoldingCoin Slack, if you would like to help out with something.  Smiley

This thread seems pretty quiet. Been a downtrend since September. Any future updates or calm before the storm?

The FoldingCoin Slack is where most of the action takes place. It's been an uptrend since August, so it depends on the way you want to look at it (people come out of hibernation in March or April; it seems like). There is steady progress being made, like usual. Announcements are typically made at the monthly public meeting (1st Saturday of the month).

Do people own folding coin and cure coin?

Yes. People can earn both CURE and FLDC from folding (I own both).   Grin

The January FLDC payout went out in the evening on Saturday Feb 4th (First Saturday of each month). There's also a countdown timer on the website for the next distribution.

Looks like Folding@Home is getting some updates for the Nvidia driver issues:
https://folding.stanford.edu/home/release-new-core-21-v-0-0-18-with-support-for-nvidia-drivers-375-57/

Quote
Release: New core 21 v.0.0.18 with support for Nvidia drivers 375.57+, January 30, 2017 by thynell

We are pleased to announce the release of core 21 v0.0.18 to full FAH. The updated core will be pushed out automatically for both windows and linux donors over the next week as projects are updated to require this min-core-version.
This release contains a workaround for a change made in the NVIDIA OpenCL driver introduced in drivers starting with 375.57, as well as some improvements to error handling codes.
While a slight reduction in performance may be observed, this performance regression should be eliminated when NVIDIA removes the hotfix in forthcoming driver updates.
There is a known issue that this release will, for some projects, print sporadic messages to the log due to a known visualizer bug:

05:34:52:WARNING:FS01:Size of positions 64914 does not match topology 19

This issue does not affect the quality of the science, and a workaround is already in testing for v0.0.19, which we hope to release in a week.
Thank you all for your patience.

Kindly report issues here:

Next meeting? Also still waiting on loyalty payout for a couple of months now. Has it been cancelled?

Hi,

We were hoping to tackle it with an automated solution that we're working on. I will discuss with Robert what we can do in the meantime.

The next meeting is Saturday Dec 3rd at 15:00 UTC

About 10 days left to earn a FOLDERPEPE card for this month. You just need to fold 100k FAH points and post your FoldingCoin FAH username in the FoldingCoin Slack #folderpepe channel.

What is the new direction FLDC is taking?

Mainly focusing on the Merged Folding platform, and making it easier for distributing tokens on the Bitcoin blockchain as rewards to folders.

For folders, Merged Folding adds value in addition to earning FLDC. For token distributors, it's a good method to start an in-game card / currency, a new coin, or any promotional giveaway to hundreds of people located all over the world. Some of those tokens will be worthless, but others may be worth more than FLDC after a year or so.

how often is the halving happening?

When the undistributed funds reach half (450M of 900M), about every 900 days. So about December 17th 2016, then about June 2019   Smiley

Greetings,
is there some sort of PPD/FLDC calculator/chart that makes it possible to determine the amount of FLDC daily/monthly payments?
Thanks.

The FoldingCoin stats calculations are being revamped, so it will be easier in the future.
It's not super easy, but this is what's currently being used:

http://foldingcoin.xyz/?token=FLDC&total=500000&start=2016-10-22&end=2016-10-23

Where you adjust the date ranges in the web link for a day, press the 'Show Stats' button, and Find (Ctrl+F) your Bitcoin address at the top for daily Folding@Home points and at the bottom for daily FLDC.

You can do the same thing for a month, but you have to adjust the 'total' number of FLDC distributed in the web link to be correct for that period of time: (500,000) * (# of days)

Well I bought this at a VERY high price unfortunately

695 satoshi to be exact   Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

What can we expect or what can you do for helping me?

Stop/limit will work from now on, I promisse

If it were me, putting a sell order for 750+ and waiting a year or two would be the best option. Other options would include: holding FLDC forever (buying science / supporting research), or sell and learn from the experience.

FoldingCoin is on a half-life distribution, so as the number of folders increase and the coin becomes more scarce, the price should increase, but it's not guaranteed to do that. Holding long-term seems to be a good option, but doing anything is always a gamble. Smiley

I get that you can exchange it Smiley
But why would someone buy it? Why would one want to buy FLDC?
Speculators on the exchanges buy and hold FLDC, hoping to make money selling it for more than they bought it for. Look at last year's price versus now (but remember it's not guaranteed to increase over time).

People also support paying for research by buying FoldingCoin, CureCoin, GridCoin, ...
