Sean Strickland says Caio was the alternate for DDP vs Chimaev on august 16th.

Back to back weight cuts took a toll.

Another good term: barndominium.

A structure similar to a barn that functions as a residential space.

McMansion is another good one that might make people laugh if they knew the backstory.

There are not many games available for PS5.

Game devs focus primarily on micro transaction based mobile games. That is where the $$ money is at.

There isn't much incentive for studios to invest $100 million developing games for PS5, much less PS6.

Console gaming markets not being the most lucrative, while requiring large capital expenses could be an issue moving forward.

Also don't forget 95% of australia is uninhabited by humans.

Barren, desolate portions of it could be colonized. Although I think the majority of the landscape is somewhat dry.

A region of the west sahara in africa has no existing government.

Maybe you can claim it and establish a decentralized government hierarchy.

Or do what other coiners attempted by establishing inside international waters.

But what would be the motive and point of this?

It would probably wind up being like every other government within a few decades.

Western Sahara is ruled by rich Arab groups, who often fight Morocco's taking control of it all. These rich jokers are each a nation, even though they are not recognized as such by world cartographers, because borders of each group continually change. I'd stay out of that area of the world until my group was strong.

The only 'good' places are places that have harsh climates, or places that are out in the ocean with land not down very far under the surface. A lot of work might be involved. There are a few nations that have formed themselves on abandoned oil rigs. But if the nearby country doesn't like your being there, you might have to fight them physically.

Wherever you go, it will be a job. The best is to set up an appropriate PMA to test the waters, so to speak, right in America. You might try SEASTEADING. Check out ELWAR in the forum.

Cool

^  Johnny Walker hit the perennial nerve thingy in Zhang's leg and then btch slapped Zhang til the ref stopped the fight.  Cheesy Cheesy  The fight was kinda close tho and it looked like the longer it goes, it was gonna go Zhang's way as he was putting the pressure on Walker.

But no...  The MMA gods gave Walker the W.  Grin

Even Johnny Walker seemed shocked and surprised he won that.   Cheesy

Walker being a +300 underdog, maybe I should have bet small on him with Zhang being relatively untested.

But Walker is so inconsistent and unpredictable its hard to bet on him, even when he is motivated and working hard in the gym with good trainers.

Johnny Walker ahead of UFC Shanghai: Xtreme Couture 'one of the best moves for my career'

20 August 2025

"It was a very good move, one of the best moves I did for my career," Walker told MMA Junkie Radio. "Not just because of Xtreme but because of the UFC Performance Institute. Of course, Eric is an amazing coach. He's been an amazing add to my career. A lot of big guys there to train (with).

"Performance Institute have breakfast, lunch, dinner, physiotherapy, recovery, strength and conditioning, so everything I need to achieve the next level. I'm very happy. That was my best training camp that I did, and I just feel very excited and amazing."

Johnny Walker trained at SBG Ireland for his last 8'ish fights.

Now he's training @ xtreme couture in vegas.

Will it make a difference?

We can see.

Creativity and resourcefulness are more valuable than money.

There are many who throw money at problems and goals. To avoid thinking about topics in a detail oriented format.

If you can consider your options and make the most of your capabilities, you're already head and shoulders above those who avoid those steps.

If Meerschaert survives R1 then be happy with your bet.  Live betting odds should be going his way as Oleksiejczuk has a tendency to fade going into R3.

I had $5 on Meerschaert by submission.

In hindsight, It might have been better to go.

$5 Meerschaert by submission (+420)
$5 Michal by KO/TKO (+plus odds)

To setup a situation similar to arbitrage.

Interesting UFC 319 match up:

Michal Oleksiejczuk -210
9 career losses, 6 by submission

Gerald Meerschaert +180
37 career wins, 29 by submission

Meerschaert's strengths align with Michal's weaknesses.

But can he pursue that gameplan?

Re: Which is More Profitable?

There has been ongoing debate regarding the best way to recoup the investment made in constructing a residential apartment building. For those involved in real estate, where does the real profit lie? Is it possible to recoup the money spent on constructing a residential apartment building through renting it out, or is selling it a better option for recovering the investment?

Apartment buildings have a break even point based on renter income.

And a secondary valuation based upon the value of the real estate the building is located on.

CSAC's Andy Foster explains shake-up to MMA scoring criteria, potential for future rule changes

Andy Foster, the California State Athletic Commission executive director and one of MMA’s most influential regulators, is pushing this week for a major scoring shake-up. If successful, it'll prioritize damage over all else, offering a clearer pathway for judges to identify 10-8 and even 10-7 rounds.

In boxing, a knockdown often triggers a 10-8. In MMA, that’s not always the case.

A proposed update to the Unified Rules of MMA could change that — pending a vote that's expected to pass this week at the Association of Boxing Commissions and Combative Sports' (ABC) annual conference in New Orleans. Once official, it will formalize what Foster says many judges already practice — that is, scoring based on the visible effect of strikes and grappling, with damage at the top of the criteria list.

“To get a 10-8 in mixed martial arts is now going to require significant damage,” Foster told Uncrowned's "The Ariel Helwani Show."

That’s "as close as we can get" to boxing’s clearer 10-8 system, per the commissioner.

Foster said the new language — if approved by ABC — solidifies how judges interpret dominant rounds. While 10-8s already account for “damage, domination and duration,” damage takes precedence, always.

They say they want to prioritize damage over everything else in judging criteria.

Could it make a difference.

Re: Properly pressure tested traditional martial arts master vs mma fighter

There are many traditional martial artists who routinely spar with MMA amateurs and pros.

Current UFC fighter Kevin Holland is a 2nd degree black belt in some form of kung fu.

Former UFC fighters Roy Nelson and Dan Hardy began training in shaolin styles of traditional martial arts.

There is more crossover between traditional martial arts and MMA than most realize.
