Merab Dvalishvili often trains in UFC Performance Institute and I would really suggest him to not train there because Dana White wants to get rid of him so much that I think, one day he will put poison into his food Cheesy I'm kidding but will this guy ever be on the main even even without superstar opponent?

125 and 135 lb divisions usually get no respect.

Which is why Demetrious Johnson was traded to ONE FC.

And TJ Dillashaw defended his 135 lb belt on TV cards with no Pay Per View.

And another question, why does Merab always fight in Las Vegas his recent fights? I don't remember him fighting somewhere else recently.

The UFC performance institute (UFC PI) is located in vegas.

Many UFC fighters live and train in vegas as they can receive free training, free meals, free supplements, free medical support & other benefits at the UFC PI.

Vegas is where the UFC has most of its infrastructure and amenities.

Vegas is a great tourist and gambling destination. Which is why it was once called the fight capital of the world.

Refueling vehicles with gasoline in the morning or evening when temperatures are lower and fluids are denser.

Will give you more gasoline per liter / gallon.

So what role changing of teams play in Vettori career and UFC performance?

UFC fighters are sharper & better prepared when they spar hard in MMA gyms like Kings MMA under Rafael Cordeiro.

But the hard sparring can lead to greater number of injuries and hard blows to the head.

Which can (in theory) shorten an athletes career.

There are MMA gyms known for sparring hard while others are known for light sparring.

There are also some coaches in MMA who are considered very good, while others are considered very bad.

Changing teams can make a huge difference in an athlete's performance.

Any comments on Vettori fight? Why I am asking is because he had a title fight some time ago. Now he has lost 4 out of last 5 fight. Possible he will be released, but he is #11 in rating. How does UFC with such things? If a guy is in rating, do they release him? Also he is European, UFC dont have much fighters from Europe, so it wont be smart to lose viewers. However… Showing such bad performance… When he most probably earn more that regular 15k+15k or 30k+30k for a win.

Marvin Vettori trained at Kings MMA with Rafael Cordeiro when he fought Adesanya for the belt.

Kings MMA is known for hard sparring. Vettori thought he would prolong his career by training somewhere less intense. He moved to (I think) Xtreme Couture or somewhere in that area. Dewey "Black Kobra" Cooper took over as striking coach. More recently it seems Vettori moved from Xtreme Couture to train at American Top Team in florida.

Anderson Silva went through a similar cycle late in his career.

Some athletes who make demands on the UFC, they are hard to work with. Those types are released quickly. Dana said for years the UFC is for the best fighters. Some can lose 5 fights in a row and still be one of the best. Tony Ferguson lost 8 fights in a row before being released.

The biggest issue with stagnation is that "the people" love to live in their status quo.
Once you archived some financial freedom the taste for risk taking leaves. That is human nature, I've seen it in many.  Due to just developing financial freedom we develop all kinds of ills. loose friends, create enemies. It is obvious that we lack the ability to advance as an entity, body and soul.

What is your take on this?

"Conditions of degeneration in the organic world are approximately known. These conditions are often of two distinct kinds, deprivation of food, light, etc. so leading to imperfect nutrition and enervation; the other, a life of repose, with abundant supply of food and decreased exposure to the dangers of the environment. It is noteworthy that while the former only depresses, or at most distinguishes the specific type, the latter, through the disuse of the nervous and other structures etc. which such a simplification of life involves, brings about that far more insidious and through degeneration seen in the life history of myriads of parasites."

Fighting at your home town in MMA could be a disadvantage.

There are more distractions. More people wanting a slice of your time. More pressure to perform.

Its easier to stay focused fighting as a complete stranger, in a place where no one knows you.

Maybe but then again it could be like football...  Like the 12th man kind of thing.  Dunno tho.  I just think Poirier is a decent bet as a slight underdog and also looking at his history with Holloway.  He also never had back to back losses.  So yeah...  I'll take the plus money for a small bet.  Grin

I never followed european football, only american.

When american football teams travel on the road some hire strippers, groupies and prostitutes to entertain them in their hotel rooms.

Its might be the opposite with team sports. They have less distractions and party less, when they're at home.

Housing is a paradox.

More homes must be constructed to reduce market prices through increased supply.

But there is no incentive to build additional homes when consumers cannot afford current market prices.

The deadlock isn't likely to be broken soon.

Instead, what will happen is residents will flock to nearby states and regions with lower average cost of living.

Poirier lost to Justin Gaethje in 2023.

While Max Holloway defeated Gaethje in 2024.

"MMA math" = Poirier is underdog.

But of course, styles determine the outcome of fights.

And so it may not be so simple.

But in the first fight Poirier won.

I think their 1st fight was at featherweight in 2012, Poirier won by triangle.

2nd fight was at lightweight in 2019 Poirier won by decision. Holloway held the FW belt when they fought.

2019 to 2025 is a long time in MMA years.

Re: Content creation
by

There is a tendency for markets to become oversaturated when too many use the same business model. I think this precedent applies to content creation as much as it does arbitrage trading or real estate. Porn is another good example of market oversaturation. Globally porn is a near $100 billion dollar industry. But the business model is so diluted and oversaturated only a tiny fraction of that amount becomes available. The porn industry might resemble the future of content creation in the distant future.

It is also possible enough will give up and quit content creation before attaining successful. For the business model to remain relatively unsaturated. Unlike porn content creation does have something resembling a learning curve to it. Without the instant gratification of porn. All of which could contribute to content creation not becoming as saturated.

There is a biology school of thought that says living things have optimal day and night patterns.

Or circadian rhythms, if you will.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circadian_rhythm

Whether or not this applies to humans, I'm not certain.

It is possible people will adapt to different circumstances.

The way northern europeans adapted to low light conditions by developing pale skin to generate higher vitamin d production.

$500 drones are low end. High end drones can cost in excess of $1 million.
$1 mil? Try hundreds of millions of dollars!

Of course it depends on who manufactures them. Arms dealers in the West produce extremely expensive stuff. For example the Northrop Grumman's US military drone RQ-4C that Iran shot down with single $1k surface-to-air missile back in 2019 cost over $220 million.

Now the same family of drone (high-altitude remotely-piloted surveillance aircraft) like Shahed-147 manufactured by Iran or Shahed-149 (which is also a combat aerial vehicle) barely cost $200k per unit! That is a 1000x price difference. Grin

I had no idea american drones could be that overpriced.

Should have expected it considering recent market trends.

Re: What if bitcoins were used in high-frequency trading?

High frequency trading is the opposite of waiting for bitcoin transactions to confirm.

Its possible but would have to be off chain or use another layer like lightning network.

A high percentage of HFT being arbitrage trading with bots, along with the exclusive nature of HFT makes it a limited niche available only to hedge funds and large financial institutions.

I don't know why average traders with less than $100,000 would be interested in it.
