Don't worry guys.

I spoke to the bitcoin police and they tell me they are keeping a close watch on the Satoshi Dice situation. They've interviewed three of the developers so far, and one of them remains in custody at my local bitcoin station.

Re: How long does withdrawing GBP from Intersango take?

After a five days customer support told me I was in a "queue" at place 15, without indicating how fast the queue was moving.

I decided to buy bitcoins on the exchange and transfer that out instead, which cost me about 120 dollars by itself due to the inflated prices, but fortunately the bitcoin withdrawal process is instant, so I was glad to take back control of the funds.

I don't know the story with Bitcoinia. Judging just from Intersango, I wouldn't call them scammers. But bank withdrawal is very slow and, unfortunately, suspiciously slow. I would not suggest using the site unless their system is fixed.

I sold 30, I sent the bitcoins first due to project's selling history. Went fine.

It says "on business days" which implies one day... but I've waited 4 days so far.

I need to convert bitcoins to money somehow within about a week. Not sure what I can do.

They will be low-size and low-bandwidth. Something reminiscent of 90s geocities. Is there a service suited to that?

The amazing coincidences just keep piling up, don't they? Mega is announced with great fanfare, then just as the the first set of affiliates start to get their PayPal accounts frozen all of a sudden a new bitcoin payment processor nobody's ever heard of before opens for business and partners with a new voucher affiliate just in time.

Lol, that is really exciting to hear.

Also you could simply upload your wallet to blockchain and use an online client: https://blockchain.info/de/wallet/import-wallet

That's great, was easy just to drag it into the square. Didn't see it before because I thought you had to create an account first, turns out it creates a new one based on the wallet.

I don't have several days to let Bitcoin-QT download the blockchain (while overheating/lagging my laptop).

I have tried Armory - which turns out to need a synched bitcoin-QT.

Tried Electrum - which can't import wallets.

Tried Multibit - which is supposed to import wallets but just gives me a long messy error when I do so.

Perhaps an Ebank can do it? I tried making an account on blockchain.info but it doesn't have what I'm looking for - the ability to upload a wallet.dat and have it available to spend. Has obscure options instead. I don't know what else can be trusted.

Anyone got a solution?

I don't think very many people need that much security when sending messages

The idea isn't about security. It's a method of creating a facebook alternative which isn't going to grow an incentive to be full of ads and tracking once the userbase moves.

One of the problems with creating an alternative to facebook, without ads and tracking, is that even if you do manage to get the market to move then it creates a huge incentive to introduce ads and tracking, just as facebook did after it gained the market from myspace.

What if there was a peer-to-peer social network instead? Public messages are submitted to it signed with my private key, restricted messages and events are signed with the private keys of the receivers too. Websites which access this stuff for you would be for ease of use, reflecting whats on the network rather than controlling it directly, so any website which imposes too high a cost (such as ads or snoping) will be outed by competition. Competition in websites and clients would also drive innovations in usability, and towards whoever is willing to host data for the minimum cost.

You might guess from my vague wording that I do not have any technical expertise and I have not thought about it much further, that's why I'm asking you guys.
