Haha since posting that thread i've had 5 rentals with payments not sent and the dispute in question has been refunded to the renter??

It's all very well having a good idea but actually having the staff and updates to prevent this sort of thing is a joke really.

I've had a system give constant worker resets for the entire period of a 24 hour rental, I guess that's my fault again and the renter will simply contest the order and get his money back with a days wasted for me.

Place is becoming a joke tbh

Am I the only one who's getting more and more user who choose unstable pools or completely set them wrong and then complain about the rig? This happens only every 10th renter, so I know it's not the rigs fault...

Yes

Guy called ccdeals rents out my rig last night at 23:27 and sends me a message at 23:41 to say the rigs not running (even though it's been stable for weeks and has a 9.95/10 rating from many rentals)

My systems automatically reboot at 00:00 on the dot to keep them running ok.

He sends me a message at 00:11 to say it's now working but he's lost 45 mins.

About an hour before the end of the rental, the systems switches to the backup pool again. I contact and tell him his pool is own - no response.

I then get a blocked payment..

Honestly don't people realise that POOL quality isn't something we can sort and that if they want to rent out a system and choose a crappy pool it's their fault?!

Not forgetting he's tried to rent from me before and not sent payment...

Oh and the rig he's renting at an advertised speed of 3400 actually runs at closer to 3500. Guess he won't mention he got over the advertised speed for the duration of the rental (when his pool was actually working)

As good as this whole betarigs thing is I do wonder if it's worth the hassle at times.

Isn't it about time the 40 minute wait was reduced to 10 for no system payments? Also are we checking new accounts now with email checks and such like to stop people registering, renting a system for a few hours, claiming it didn't work because they have chosen a dodgy pool on purpose, getting their refund and walking away with a number of hours work of free hash time?

That's a lot of coins right there.

Following it you see withdrawals to different accounts but he splits them, so 50 coins sent, 49.9999 to the one address and 0.00001 to a different one.

Very cunning tbh

Everything pretty much ends up in this account if you follow the chain

and now he's taking everything out of that one too..

Problem is because the rental prices fluctuate a lot when a new coin is released, people only want to rent their systems out for short periods in order to make sure they get the maximum return.

Any chance of a block system for us system owners so we can weed out pesky renters?

A few on the site are renting out rigs and claiming they aren't getting the advertised rates when system logs (cgwatcher) show otherwise and it seems that some of them are doing the same thing over and over again.

A simple block list which owners could add renters too in order to stop them from renting would be a god send.

one question,

for now 1Mh/s cost 0.0141 BTC/day

Can you tell me a pool or a coin that will give me more then 0.014 btc/mh/day??

Where is the use of such an expensive service?

thanks

I guess the people who use this service fall into the following two groups

1. People who haven't got the hardware to mine and don't wish to spend the outlay, so they would rather just rent it instead
2. Similar to above, people who want extra khash power at coin launches, etc.

Both situations rely on the coin being mined increasing in cost later on down the line. So although I may get paid 0.004 BTC, a few weeks/months down the line the coins my system mined increased in value to 0.01

If I was just getting into mining this setup would appeal a lot to myself as i'd rent enough rigs to perhaps make a few LTC. I'd then just sit on those LTC until the price increased higher (similar to BTC being $90 a coin and now $600+)

Is there any way for us rig owners to blacklist people we don't want to rent out too?

fantastic service, registered and have 4 rigs on there currently rented out.

Couple of things i'd like to see added though:-

User profiles - so that you can list basic stuff which is the same for all of your rigs such like
Quote
Please note that advertised khash/s is worst case scenario and that most times it will be slightly above this. Also be advised that cgminer takes time to switch between pools (normally a couple of mins) if i'm not around (normally 9am - 10pm).
Messages to customers don't appear in the Renter Support section, instead I have to click contact under their name?
Shouldn't feed back be a required item for every order?
Linked to User Profiles - a way of seeing total feedback left, not just for each miner.
A non public comments page for rig owners which they can use as a quick guide to identifying rigs easier (I use a different naming service at home, something which would make no sense to anyone else) so you have the current rig name, but also a private field for owners to make notes such as "In the garage" or "7990s" etc
