I would not have invested in LTC.  I think this is a bad idea.  I advise you to choose between btc and eth.  This is a more reliable investment.

I think sooner or later that downtime period will end. Market is cyclic, once it reaches the bottom, it will again start to raise, only question is where is the bottom.

Am yet to experience such but most campaigns i join distribute the rewards 1 month after the end of the tokensale, six months is too much and such projects might end up as scam.
