That could not be avoided, it took 18 month for litecoin to reach the hashrate of vertcoin at third month.
So yes 3 month of vertcoin was like 18month of litecoin because of the early release of gpu miner based on exsisting gpu miner and migration of scrypt GPU miner to scrypt-N, but at the end of that migration it cannot raise anymore that much and progression will be linear.
First purpose of this coin is to keep GPU miner that are loosing vs ASIC miner in power cost, the compute power to migrate is just to high too have a linear yeld at the beginning, vertcoin is just victim of his own success with miners.

None of this bodes too well for Vertcoin holders, but I'm not sure it will stop people from investing in them.

You have 3,500,000 total mined currently. From around hour 33 to hour 63, 600,000 coins were mined.

That's what we call an instamine.

Litecoin was also at 3,000,000 out of 84,000,000 at third month, just sayin.  http://cryptometer.org/litecoin_60_month_charts.html

If they can sell hardware cheaper than other online stores and still make a profit or even cover the expenses, why are they not doing it on USD already?

Dealers and customer have different prices, but they have a contrat to not sell them under a certain price, the fact is that they dont need contract to exchange them with potatoes (aka gpuc), so they can break the "price". The only thing they are selling is gpucoin, can't even say you buy GPU with gpuc as it's not money.

Hello everybody,

does anyone know how does p2pool know how many coin there is in a block?

I started mining now because PPLNS is based on share so mining 6hour at 150khs will give me the same amount of share than mining with 6x150khs when 20k coin block will be out. But is there a formula to update in p2pool or it will automatically detect the 20k coin block and automatically calculate new payout via PPLNS ratio with share already done?
What I mean: is number of coin in block hardcoded in p2pool or just "detected"?
It is taken from the last block which was found on the network (not just the pool) and it makes the assumption the next will have the same amount of coin (never had any problem on pandacoin for which the reward was random).

"never had any problem on pandacoin for which the reward was random"

Eh fine then, thank you.
