Re: Please autoban this spam bot promotion!

At this point, i would recommend :
1. Disable/remove signature for everyone
2. More strict/difficult CAPTCHA
3. Requiring CAPTCHA when post

Maybe new forum will solve all problem we have Roll Eyes
Just a few words about captcha. Have you ever seen an entire Chinese (or another Asian, African whatever; it`s just for example) village solving captchas for bots? I have  Wink $1 for 500 or smth it was. There are still services that provide such help. So I don`t think, this will completely solve the case. But indeed it can make a life more difficult for spammers. And for regular users as well  Grin

Re: Curious boy who want to know about merits
by
KaZZZaK
on 28/07/2018, 14:00:22 UTC
Well, actually this is quite a bit useful, so now we can see in first hand what`s in the mind of the common shitposter/scammer here in the forum.
So. Commonly, a friend who is on a bounty teach another friend how to come into the forum and look at it as a work from the very beginning. Besides, they are so absolutely mistaken about the site itself that they think they have the right to ask about how to earn more money. So the problem is the information they actually have about the forum, and the perspective they approach with.

Ok, "Curious boy". The forum is not a workplace, even when it can become one, this is not the mean purpose of this site. In order to achieve your goal, meaning, earn more money, you need to become a respectable member first in here. How? Well, by showing some concern about the site you are taking as a workplace. You must know about how and why this place was created, by whom, what are the discussions in here, what`s the goal of the site.
If you are intelligent enough, you will investigate how to become a part, a good user, so ranking-up will be easy for you.
This is not only a bounty space where you can come and post whatever crap you have in your mind. This is a community about Bitcoin, founded by the creator of Bitcoin himself.

As well as you learn to have some respect for that, as long as you will to learn, then you will be different from your friend and his $5 per week and become a learner, an informed guy and, who knows, a Bitcoin or crypto expert.

If you just want your pathetic bounty rewards, that`s on you. You are free to be mediocre. This is a place with a lot of opportunities, you just need to have a brain under your skull and to use your patience in order to become different to the 90% of the people in here and their tiny and pathetic rewards.
I`m, afraid, it`s not what in their minds. That would be definitely not in English and you won`t understand a single thought Smiley
And a few words about "pathetic rewards" if I may. $10 is nothing for you, people, but there are places, where you can buy a food for a week for this amount. So don`t be quick to judge this "curious boy". I know that everyone hates sh*tposters and it`s natural. Yes, he is ignoring great opportunities this forum gives to everyone absolutely free. But it`s not the great opportunities you worry about, when you are hungry.
I`m not trying to justify sh*tposters, just offer you another point of view, so please don`t judge me.
P.S. Not a single capital letter in all post, for God`s sake... Would it stand for a new record?

Re: Buying and Selling BCT Accounts
by

on 28/07/2018, 13:28:22 UTC
71 BCT account! You do see a big business in there. Business with a forum accounts (buying/selling)... isn't it even sounds odd?

I really don't understand why would I sell my account? I built the account from 0, this account is a part of my daily life. Why would I give this account to someone else just for few Dollars? It worth more for me than to sell it to anyone else if I leave this forum ever. If anyone wants to income from bounty or whatever, just let them to create an account and build it for themselves.

I guess the root of the problem were before the Merit system. It was easy for people to create accounts whenever they wanted and raked up easily. They never realized the hard time that need to build up a good account like now. Good thing that Merit is here.

I was thinking would it be possible to implement a TEMPORARY restriction of some sort on a bought
account to prove the new owner is worthy in some ways.
Agree, May be disable their sig space and also ban them if they ever try to post in the bounty section LOL
Let me tell you something, my friend. There are places on this planet, where people earn few grands for year and considered to be rich. And mostly they work very hard. So, imagine that you can sit at home and make this money for sh*t posting and selling accs and you will get an answer for your "why?". This place is like an Eldorado for some.

Re: Post Youtube or flash videos
by

on 28/07/2018, 13:13:38 UTC
I see there is an insert flash function, but I'm not sure how to insert a youtube video or any flash video for that matter. Help would be appreciated.
IIRC flash was never enabled in the forum so it can't be used.

Edit: What you can do is just upload an image then link it to the video instead or follow this:

1. Get the Youtube video link e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gc2en3nHxA4 (Remember this id Gc2en3nHxA4)
2. There are 4 a default thumbnail images to each video the, URL to these images will be like

Code:
https://img.youtube.com/vi//0.jpg
https://img.youtube.com/vi//1.jpg
https://img.youtube.com/vi//2.jpg
https://img.youtube.com/vi//3.jpg

3. Now to add or embed youtube video, add img tag and replace Youtube Video id

Code:
[img]https://img.youtube.com/vi/Gc2en3nHxA4/0.jpg[/img]

4. Now add URL tag and point URL to actual youtube video

Code:
[url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gc2en3nHxA4][img]https://img.youtube.com/vi/Gc2en3nHxA4/0.jpg[/img][/url]

5. Final result, Youtube video, click to play Smiley

That is great! Very useful information, thanks a lot. Don`t now how about TS, but I was really interested  Smiley The only thing should be added, as for me: to do so, you need to be Jr. Member at least or Copper Member (just in case somebody new to this forum would be reading this).

Apparently this IP is going around and hacking BitCoinTalk accounts by bruteforcing/hacking/guessing the password:
43.224.109.33
If this IP will be banned it won`t help a lot, really. It`s pretty easy to get proxy for now. So, the only hope is to set a password, strong enough not to be broken. Anyway, wish you luck with this case.

This merit source thing is a real nightmare. Sometimes I think I should give up and play with domains and bashing globalists. Smiley
Please, don`t give up. You`re doing a great job, this forum needs you  Smiley
Back to the subject of discussion, personally I think, if you are planning to tidy up smb`s post and stuff like that it`s practically editor`s work. You`re taking part of creating this post too. So, an option 3 seems to be natural in this situation. And a guy`s comment will be pertinent also. But that`s just my opinion.

Guys, guys, guys! Why is it so much whining about merit? What do you need it for so badly? If you came to this forum to get a communication and to learn something new - you can have it with or without merit, no differense about rank. If you came here to make money - then it should be hard for you to get merit. Yes, before this system you could get rank up just for posting and now you can`t. So what? Life changes, people. There is no "free money" in the world. You want that rank up - you try your best to be useful to the community. And stop complaining, for God`s sake. I`m like 2 weeks on the forum and I got sick already. Noboby going to cancel it anyway, and thanks admins for that.

Re: how is the value of cryptocurrency determined
by
KaZZZaK
on 08/07/2018, 23:09:06 UTC
You can hear, that cryptocurrency market is a free market and crypo`s price is only determined by supply and demand. But unfortunately, it`s not 100% precise. Thing is, crypto market is a young one, so there is a number of distinctive features, few of which you allways want to keep in mind.
First of all, there are no fundamental market indexes. Second, there are no regulatory institutions. Third, most of market`s participants are not professional traders. Next one: inequality of market`s perticipants. Few features, that are caused not by makret`s youth but by it`s nature: there is no material outcome of it`s activity; there are no common experts.
So, what you can expect, considering all that, in terms of coins prices? THIS:
- pump&dump strategies by big players;
- huge news influence. Or maybe no news influence at all;
- no guarantees of not losing all your investments in half an hour;
- huge prices volatility;
- price falling/rising with no obvious (for you) reason;
and so on.
It`s not the whole list, not even half of it. I just don`t have enough energy to make a mini-article instead of post. But you can continue by yourself  Smiley
Other than that, it`s strictly fun  Grin

Re: is Coinbase insured?
by

If I have my money on coinbase and they get hacked, does their insurance policy cover my loss?

Quote
Coinbase prioritizes the security of our customer's funds, all digital currency that Coinbase holds online is insured. If Coinbase were to suffer a breach of its online storage, the insurance policy would pay out to cover any customer funds lost as a result. Coinbase holds less than 2% of customer funds online. The rest is held in offline storage.

Please note that the insurance policy covers any losses resulting from a breach of Coinbase’s physical security, cyber security, or by employee theft. This insurance policy does not cover any losses resulting from the compromise of your individual Coinbase account. It is your responsibility to use a strong password and maintain control of all login credentials you use to access Coinbase.
For more on securing your account, see here.

Digital currency is not legal tender, is not backed by the government, and digital currency accounts and value balances on Coinbase are not subject to Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation or Securities Investor Protection Corporation protections.

Re: Ukrainian local board

Yes, let's hope
By the way there is a number of big  blockchain conferences in Kyiv
I think this fact we also need to take to account

It would be a lot easier for local communities to have a list of demands in this case (I mean, to know what exactly is needed, to open a local board). Like, number of users, that vote for this, several candidates for moderators etc. But for now we can only hope for luck or to bring an attention of forum`s "elders" to this matter. Because we can endlessly write here about pros and cons but what`s the point, if the right people won`t read it?

If someone wants to improve his language knowledges, there is a plenty of ways to do it and not the only one is about posting something on specialized crypto forum. You can find tons of options, from watching movies with subtitles to finding a pen pal, who will guid you. I just don`t get why is TS trying to hammer nails with microscope.

Guys, it like an eternal problem  of forums Grin Especially, it concerns forums with some kind of hierarchy, based on the number of posts/member activity, which is about 60-70% of big ones. Especially, if a member of high rank can get a money of an account. Nothing can be done here, except for rewarding reporting such type of activity and increasing number of moderators, for my opinion. But it brings another problems along. It just a human nature, you can`t do much about it  Wink

Here is a thought for you guys. If miners mined Bitcoins, then every Bitcoin would have a unique identification number - true or false?
I think, that would be a false for situation that we have now. As for now, blocks have ordinal numbers. Last one was 529759 at the time I checked.
But if miners mined Bitcoins and not blocks, Bitcoins surely would have some type of identificator.

I wondered if somebody would introduce orphan blocks. Smiley

It's become quite an interesting discussion, and I'll reread the posts shortly. I'm also thinking of opening the thread to senior members once the post count has passed 50.

Orphaned blocks are valid blocks which are not part of the main chain. They can occur naturally when two miners produce blocks at similar times or they can be caused by an attacker (with enough hashing power) attempting to reverse transactions.
OK, now I`m tempted to write about 51% attack and why one big mining pool sometimes need to split Smiley

Re: Can I use proxy/vpn to browse this forum?
by
KaZZZaK
on 29/06/2018, 13:48:32 UTC
So guys, what if I register my account in a common internet connection, then 5 weeks later I switched to VPN connection, is it a pass or a possible banned?
What do you mean by a common internet connection? An ISP that is used by most of the people in your country or in a computer shop? If that is the case, you won't need to worry because most of them are using dynamic IP protocol when giving public IP address and it is very unlikely that you will sign up using a banned IP. Even if you switched to a VPN connection that has been used by people who got banned, you won't gain evil points.
Yeah, thought that way too. Except my account got banned (sorry, not the account, the IP), when I registered from home. For the first time. Not using VPN or TOR (wasn`t using last one at all). Didn`t even hear about this forum till yesterday. And I`m the only person using this internet connection. So you may just get unlucky. It may depend on Internet provider too, I think.
Now I`m using my friend`s wifi and everything is OK, though I had to register secod time.

Re: If an IPO company and now an ICO, what is the problem?
by
KaZZZaK
on 29/06/2018, 13:38:35 UTC
If an IPO company and now an ICO, what is the problem?
If an ICO project like Amazon Hub Lockers and deploying a whole country to Asia then are people interested about it?
As my know , big company as Amazon will not publish any ICO project , the reason is simple . They don't need do that .
1)IPO and ICO is different , ICO has a very big risk and maybe you will lost all your money .
2)IPO is more stable than ICO , but you get maybe is not very much as ICO .

You are absolutely wrong. There are low risk IPOs and high risk IPOs. You can potentially loose all your investment in any of the two. A very famous case, with billions of dollars lost is here
Actually, you can lose you money investing in any type of business. It isn`t the case. The differense between ICO and IPO is still geat. When people launching an IPO they at least have a company, product, clients, stuff and other things. Now, when we are talking about ICO, in most cases all we have is an idea, site and whitepaper. And again, it`s not that easy to launch an IPO due to finantional regulations, stock exchange demands and all that. For ICO you generally just need some serious amount of money and you are good to go.

Thanks to all you guys who are participating in the question thread. I thought it might be interesting to start a subjective discussion thread as well. The rules are the same - no spam, newbies and juniors, all post for the benefit of improving the knowledge of forum members etc.
So here is the first topic for discussion.

Miners don't mine Bitcoins, miners mine blocks for the blockchain

Thank you for your great job. It`s remarkable, that somebody gives new members a chance to get award just for posting some reasonable things and discussing interesting topics. I`m very greatfull and I think, that every fresh member should be as well.
Back to the question, though  Smiley
Miners do mine blocks for the Bitcoin blockchain. Only there is an award for completing the block, that goes to a person, who finished it. You can`t mine blocks and not get an award (only if you really up to do such way Grin) and you don`t get that BTC without mining blocks. It`s like mutually related Smiley I think, this is more about how you look at it. If a guy wants to be a part of a blockchain technology and that`s the main reason he is mining - so he mines blocks. But if one started to do this only with a goal to get cryptocurrency - he is mining BTC Wink
It`s kind of a phylosophic one. I`m thinking back in the days, when Bitcoin just showed up, it was that way. BTC didn`t cost much, so people was interested in an idea of cryptocurrency. And they participated because of that interest and because they had a desire to change a wold a little bit.
But yeah, of course people are mining blocks and get a reward for this activity, they not like making crypto out of air. Grin
