If bitcoin price does break past the double bottom neckline, it could find dynamic resistance at these moving averages, which are around $580 to $585. A break past these levels could confirm that bullish momentum is underway.

Blockchain is now being seen as a revolutionary new step in many other markets, including in energy. It’s a win for the people who have been able to afford to invest in roof-top solar, but also a win for customers who haven’t: they will be able to access clean, renewable energy at effectively a ‘wholesale’ rate. Everyone wins.

is not convenient for consumers to pay bank or credit card fees each time they need to pay a few dimes to read an article online. However, by using Bitcoin and its blockchain consumers can eliminate fee-charging intermediaries, such as banks and credit card issuers, while preserving their anonymity.

redeemable by the exchange or convertible to shares in iFinex - places them somewhere between a bond and a security and makes it highly likely that issuing them and trading them would require licenses in the U.S. that Bitfinex doesn't have.

The bottom line is that altcoins can no longer be considered copycats or reinventions of the same cryptocurrency wheel. Many of them represent compelling use cases beyond just payments and – whether long-term feasible or not – are dead serious about chasing investment capital.

The price formed a crucial contracting triangle pattern formed on the hourly chart (data feed from SimpleFX) of BTC/USD. After a consolidation phase the price moved down, and broke the triangle support area. So, technically, it looks like the pair completed a short-term correction, and moved down once again. The BTC sellers need an hourly close below the triangle support trend line, which may ignite further declines. It almost looks possible looking at the last 2-3 candles. If the price corrects higher from the current levels, then the same broken trend line can be seen as a sell area. The most important resistance on the upside is around the 100 hourly SMA.

Re: [2016-08-12]Russian authorities decide not to criminalise bitcoin
by
Kaneki
on 13/08/2016, 11:35:57 UTC
The question of banning cryptocurrency has been a matter of discussion in Russia over the past two years. In August 2014, the Ministry of Finance developed a document that called for the introduction of fines up to $15,000 for the production and usage of bitcoin. Later, the amount of the fine was reduced. However, in September 2015, the Ministry started to actively advocate the introduction of a criminal penalty for circulation of virtual currency including bitcoins. They suggested punishing individuals by imprisonment for up to four years, and senior management of involved financial organisations for up to seven years.
