Ants!

Very clean. Dig your setup and am going to change a few things on my side because of it.

Are your ants new? If so, do you have free electricity? I'm asking because I have a similar setup but intend to sell them pretty soon. After a few more jumps it looks like they won't even pay for their electricity.

Thanks for the compliment Smiley. I ordered about 4 from each batch 1 through 7. I have 28 s3 antminers in total. I pay a flat monthly rate to rent out my little server room which includes free electricity. I've already mined back ~40% of my BTC investment so break even is looking good and some profit is possible if I sell them at the right time or difficulty stays under 15% for a bit.

Nice one, really jealous of all the free power. Will try hard to find one..

Re: Mark Zuckerberg investing $100 million in Bitcoin

I heard a RUMOR from a friend of a friend who knows Zuckerberg personally that the Facebook guru is planning to pump $100million into Bitcoin

True or not, I don't know - but my friend is hardly a flake.  I wonder what a Zuckerberg entry into the Bitcoin market would do to the price?

Better still, if facebook start to accept bitcoin and promote it...

Is it possible to mine Bitcoin using refrigerators and toasters.

How that even works?

Well they are saying that hackers could target this things to compute with the mining power of computed device.

Is it possible?

ltcgear just happens to have more superior tech than any asics company now.

I believe that is correct.

I hope some one from LTCgear cut the shit shat and provide us withe some real tech info about their farm. At least transparency make more sales.

Yep I agree about the transparency part. But another problem might prevent the scaling of the farm when you have too many customers. Then a lot of expenses need to be spent, so you can't keep the best price anymore. Otherwise transparency in this case might cause harm for the owner too since everyone in the world knows who he is and where he is, and he's in charge of thousand BTCs. I would not reveal my identity if I had much BTCs.

Yup its dangerous, hacker and thief might be targeting him...

Re: SELLING MY MINERS LOCALLY ONLY ??? WHY ??? ARE THEY MADE IN MY COUNTRY NOOOOOOO
by
Katarina
on 23/10/2014, 13:32:23 UTC
shipping is paid usually from the buyer
so this is up to the buyer to decide if its worth total expense Purchase+shipping

Some people will only ship to the same country to avoid the hassle of dealing with customs, seizured packages, etc. Also the probability of the package getting damaged or lost goes up with international. If you are talking about ebay it is easier to scam people with if you are talking on btc forums then see the first few sentences.

I know on my old gear I sold all in US.  It saves on shipping, and makes no customs problems.  It just makes life easier.

Agree, customs is one big problem...

Re: Why cloud mining is a zero sum game

It depends on the company. I currently use 4 different cloud mining companies, there are all profitable ATM but LTCgear is absolutely the best. Have been with them since May and have reached 500% ROI so far.
Take a look at their review in my signature if you are interested.

Yeah, but do they do Btc?

Yeah most of them do BTC..

I am currently running few S2 Antminer and taking it apart and seeing what is inside indeed make me wonder is it really toxic. I had purchase a meter from ebay to test the radioactive reading. Each S2 cards resembles a graphic card and nothing more. I wonder how toxic can it be. BTW i believe 80% of electronics from the world are from China so lets not stereotype.

Thanks

I don't think its radioactive, but the air that come out from S2 antminer should have metal smell which isn't really good for human body..

I don't understand what will happen in the next halving time. Will it be harder to mine, which means less bitcoins produced and that will drive up the btc price?

Yup, this should be it, price going double..
